I've raised dogs for over 50 years and this is my 1st review. I am so impressed and happy to have found Mo's Dog Grooming. Monique took my new little rescue and fixed her dew claw that she had injured today. Plus, she cleaned her ears and brushed her teeth. Monique is gentle and kind and my little 8yr old GiGi could sense that and was calm during the process. I highly recommend Monique's Grooming. Horrible job and the owner was not being reasonable at all. For the past 4 years we have been going to Pawlissa Grooming in Westport. Unfortunately, she lost her business partner in October so to an illness and had to severely cut her clients down to 1/2. I found Moniques because of it being close to home. They were great on getting back to me and scheduling the appointment. I went to work late so I could drop them off and show them pictures of how my other groomer did them and how we wanted them trimmed. The woman said "sure no problem". Well we did not get what we asked for at all and I contacted the owner and she said well nobody told me you had pictures they should have told you to text them to me. It is not my problem her employee made it like she was the one doing the grooming and handed my dogs over to someone who did not see what we asked for. I asked for 1/2 my money back since we did not get what we asked for and she replied " no we did a service " That was not the service we asked for. She then hung up on me. The picture of my dogs together is what we asked for and the pictures of them solo is what we picked them up looking like. We are not happy at all. read more

Monique's is a special groomer . The dogs are very loved while they get cleaned and styled. When I brought very old Jack they were wonderful with him. Today both Jack & young buck River were bathed .They look great ! read more

We had scheduled an appointment for my dog and had dropped him off early in the morning. We hadn't heard anything for 5 hours, starting to get worried, we called and the groomer stated she had not started my dog yet. Another 3 hours had gone by and still no call. I went to retrieve my dog and when I entered the room, there were many dogs all locked in cages with no water, presumably for the entire day. I understand places get busy and are under pressure with clients. However, when we picked up the dog, the groomer was mad at us for picking up our dog. When we took him to another groomers, he was so scared and throwing up from being there, something that had never happened before. I certainly would no recommend bring your animal here. read more

My dog trainer recommended this wonderful groomer and I couldn't be happier. I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Gunner and he is a big baby, he typically freaks out when I leave him to be groomed. I was recommended to Monique by another groomer, which says a lot. I have to admit that the cut she gave my Goldendoodle was not what we expected, but it was done expertly and we can always work on style. Our pooch came home exercised (she let him play with her doggies), and smelled amazing for like two weeks. And was soft for just as long too! Monique is the best groomer we've found so far and I don't imagine finding a better one. Her prices are comparable to most other groomers too which is nice. read more

I brought in my 4 mo 3 week old shih tzu, Rocco. Moniques' has a program for puppy grooming as to help puppies become acclimated and comfortable with the process. The staff was helpful and very kind. Most importantly, after a bad experience at a PetCo grooming salon, the staff at Moniques truly listened to what I was seeking for Rocco and actually did what I had asked. Particularly, I want to cultivate a top-knot for Rocco and also a long traditional coat - both of which are typical grooming styles for shih tzus. Moniques was accommodating and also gave me some tips on cultivating and sustaining the top-knot moving forward. read more

We brought my long haired mixed breed dog to this groomer for the first time this week. We were very disappointed in the service. My dog was at the shop for close to five hours. We never got a call to inform us that she was having trouble combing his fur. We didn't recognize him when we picked him up. He was completely shaved. We should have been notified before such a drastic measure. If we had known we would not have agreed and gone to retrieve him. We will not be returning to this shop or recommending it. read more

You will not find a better groomer anywhere! My Dusty is 15, he had visited several groomers in his first few years. Once we found Carlene, the search was over. My Mopsey is 13 and she has never been groomed by anyone else. Carlene and her staff are fantastic! Polite, professional and obviously love what they do. read more

This place is not the best cleaned place. They also never asked to see my dog's shot record to make sure he is up to date. My dog's haircut is hard to do.. I'll admit to that. I got to talk with the owner on the phone prior to my appointment. she was very welcoming and nice. She said to me for my type of dog it be between 40-50. I explained to her up front what kind of haircut and how hard I notice it could be for the groomers. She told me it would still be $40.00. That she enjoys what she does and dont want to over charge her clients. I thought that was nice. I also feel people dont automatically get a tip, they must earn it. So if she enjoys her job it will show and I would tip accordingly. I work for tips too and never expect a tip from my clients. I base my tips on performance. After picking up my dog and we talked about the haircut and she explain what hair does when it lays. Which was great. Gave me a more understanding of the hair on my dog. I had planned on giving my groomer a tip appropriate to the work... I ended up getting charge 54.00. She said it was because of the haircut. Well the haircut was pretty decent the worse thing was she faded the top of my dog's head when I asked not to. So overall even being charge more than quoted I gave a $5 tip. Overall I dont think ill be back. She lost me when she lied to me on the price. Ill look for another groomer. read more

I had a bad experience here but I'm sure other people have had better. It did seen very busy, very popular. There were tons of dogs crammed into one tiny room. The tech injured my dog during a nail trim. But it is a very squirmy dog. It should probably not be held against them. I guess I just didn't like the layout of the place; they did not take my small dog anywhere separate to do her grooming, so she was basically being dangled over several large dogs (in perfect range of their mouths.) read more
