Bacon burger
Nik H.

Our second visit during this year's parent's weekend was even better than the first visit about a year ago. The ambiance was the same and the service was great. We took my son and his 3 roommates to dinner. We tried a variety of items that were different from last year. We had the spinach - artichoke dip with chips and pita along with the maple bbq and Thai chile lime duck wings. The wings were outstanding. My wife had a take on a Reuben made with turkey and I had a bacon burger with fried bacon and bacon aioli. Neither are on the menu shown on the website. Look for them and you WONT be sorry. I also had two 10 ounce pecan Kringle stouts (12% ABV)...holy crap was that good. The quality of the food and service was a little better than last time. I increased my review to 5 stars and don't forget to visit Tallman cocktails which is connected through the rear for some fabulous cocktails.

Keonte is an awesome server on top of everything and no feeling of being rushed. Smiling attentive and clearly loves what she does. The poutine was a bit smaller than when we last came but still delicious salt and vinegar with ranch dressing. The chicken classic is tender and works well with the carmelized onions, cheese, aioli and pretzel bun. Atmosphere is relaxing good background music with a chatter of voices echoing in the high ceilings. Clean and welcoming great spot downtown Syracuse.

Having been here several times over the years, it is mediocre at best. The service is slow and food is always the same. Generic and typically cold. If you like loud college bars and poutine then I suppose this is your place

Food gone.

We Came into The Hops Spot For a Nice Celebration. I ordered a Buffolo Chicken Ranch Poutine with extra fries, and a Chicken Bacon ranch Wrap . Uhhh that wrap was delicious. And the Buffolo chicken poutine was absolutely banging, my mouth was salivating just by the aroma. The service was phenomenal, as my cup was emptied it was refilled to the brim. The Entire restaurant had a Beautiful ambiance, it was genuinely a wonderful time.

If you're looking for a great spot that checks all the boxes for both adults and kids, this place is a gem. The beer selection is top-notch, and the food comes out quickly while still being delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. What really stood out was the service. Our server was incredibly attentive, making sure we had extra cups and plates for the kids meals before they started fighting over them. Small details like this really make a big difference when you're dining with little ones. Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Noise level: Easy to talk Group size: Ideal for 3-5 people Wait time: No wait Kid-friendliness: Excellent (plenty of space and activities for kids) Highly recommend this place for a relaxed, family-friendly dining experience!

I'm Going to say they are busy so dont r pet lightening service and they can get confused but the staff if friendly kind which to me is what's most important great place to bring family friendly and even coworkers. Be forewarned street or garage parking. Bocce ball and other games towards the back of the establishment and a diner kinda feel to it very cool and don't miss the ducks wings they are delicious.

Birthday celebration for hubby. It's a little hard on Mondays because so many places are closed but I knew he'd enjoy The Hops Spot in Armory Square. It was a beautiful day, sunny and warm so we decided to sit outside. It is so nice that their outdoor seating is covered. There were sits in the shade as well as in the sun. We started with some brews....a pilsner, a stout and a sour. They were very enjoyable and their selection cannot be beat! 20+ taps !!! Our server was excellent, checking in on us and helping with questions. Service was pretty quick and everything arrived hot. Our friend declared his poutine extremely good, and my burger and my husband's were delicious. Approx 8 oz, perfectly cooked and juicy. My husband had fries and I love that I could get a salad instead of fries for no extra charge. It was not large, but it was a perfect size for a side. I am looking forward to a return trip soon.

Quick, accommodating service and awesome burgers! So much variety, everyone loved what they ordered. I'm normally a smash burger girl but the quality of the meat here is fantastic. Perfect place to satisfy your burger craving!

Spinach artichoke dip

The hops spot is a great place to grab a bite and a drink downtown. I will forever mourn their deviled eggs, which was my favorite appetizer until it was recently removed from the menu. Luckily there are still so many tasty items to choose from. My favorite appetizer is definitely the spinach artichoke dip, it's dangerously cheesy and magnificent. I highly recommend it with tortilla chips. There are so many poutine options, and each one I've tried has been a hit. My two favorites are The Big Lebowski and Remember the Alamo. The drinks are also outstanding, both cocktails and draughts. My favorite cocktail is the watermelon mule, it's the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. As far as draughts, I'm not a beer person but they always have a multitude of ciders available as well, and occasionally hard seltzers. The selection changes constantly, so there's always something new to try. I love the weekday and daytime ambiance, which is very chill. It can get a bit wild on weekend evenings, which isn't my speed but is definitely someone else's. The servers are always kind and helpful, and food and drinks are brought out expediently. I love coming here and highly recommend it to all.

We weren't disappointed. We sat at the bar this time - Outstanding bar and ambiance. We met a very excellent bar man who made us some outstanding cocktails. I had two most excellent gin martinis. I was the only returning patron, the others much enjoyed their first time here. Walking through the front door you're instantly hit with a wonderful smell of food cooking over an open fire. Got a terrific table to look out the window and enjoyed a nice evening view. Took full advantage of every food meal course available. Started out with their evening appetizer of homemade bread with cinnamon butter. Each of us got our own dinner choice along with small plates to start. The two small plates were green lentil salad and ember roasted carrots. Both of them with their unique flavor and style. The green lentil salad featured heirlooms. The ember roasted carrots featured labrieth, doqqa, and maple syrup. Keep in mind everything here comes from local farms and local breweries and distilleries. Big fan of supporting the state and local community. Fantastic! They feature only a few main entrées, tonight's included halibut, steak, chicken, and sea Island peas with jasmine rice. Knowing how well seasoned their steaks are, I went with a filet mignon 10 ounce. Probably a little more than I should've gotten, but I very rarely eat steak and know how well and good they are here. Ordered the steak medium to medium rare and that's exactly how it came out. Mouth watering delicious. Along with the steak includes mashed potatoes, chimichurri, kale, and. crème fraiche. Every bite was outstanding. One of us got ice cream for dessert which she said was very good. The ice cream was made right there at the restaurant. We kicked off the dinner with a rum cocktail and a tequila cocktail. All spirits locally sourced. If you haven't tried it here yet you should. You will not be disappointed.

For drinks they have a good selection of beers on tap, usually 10-20, from local and national breweries. The server offered me a sample before I fully committed on a beer I had a question about and I appreciated being able to try it before committing to a full glass. The Evergreen's menu itself is accessed through a QR code where their full list of options and specials are listed. My group opted to share the beer fries and they were taaaasty, pillowy soft, crunchy, and amazingly well seasoned. The vegetarian options are a regular part of the restaurant and the fried tofu I had was genuinely satisfying and well done. My cajun pasta was maybe a touch over but I was okay with it since it had my condiment obsession of chili crisp in it. The menu is well marked for dietary needs. A great thing of note is that they have women's, men's, AND an all-gender bathroom. I appreciate the inclusion in the food and restaurant itself. Car parking is street parking, it's accessible via the Centro bus system, and there is an artistic broken-chain shaoed bike rack just across the street from the restaurant. My group was happy with the prices and service for an early Wednesday dinner in a wintry March.

Clean and uncluttered floor space with square wooden picnic tables, which are custom-built to gather around good beer with good company. **Staff & Service** I have been to this place multiple times, and every time, the bar staff has been super friendly and helpful. **Beer** They have a rotation selection of draft beers. I read up on the menu and discovered they offered lamb chops which is one of my absolute favourites. A taste of home for me! Friendly and efficient staff welcomed us and showed us to our table. So far so good. Very nice young woman looked after us. My wife ordered the rigatoni and I had the chops. She loved her rigatoni so much she's finishing it off 2 days later and still loving it. Sadly my dish was a bit of a disappointment. My two large chops were extremely fatty. It's the kind you simply can't cut through on a slippery plate. Trying to separate what little meat there was from the fat was impossible so I had to give up and bring it home to a cutting board and an extremely sharp knife. I haven't tried to eat it yet but it looks as fatty as the first. Both had been totally covered by a condiment that I think should have been served in a separate container to allow the diner to regulate the amount desired. The base was a pilf which made trying to cut the chops even more difficult because every time the meat or the knife slipped, the table was showered with grains....all a bit slapstick....! As I previously said, my wife loved her meal and the previous visit was epic so I hate to criticise but I'm just trying to be honest and fair. I think $45 for a couple of very fatty chops with not much meat and smothered in a vinaigrette you might not like is a bit cheeky... In different circumstances I would have sent it back. Oh well, you live and learn...
