I wish I could give this place 100 stars…read more My wife and I got married on November 9, and what should've been the happiest week of our lives turned momentarily chaotic when our original dinner venue canceled on us two days before the wedding. Total panic. We called One Bourbon on a longshot, expecting a "sorry, we're closed." Instead, they did something absolutely unbelievable: they opened their restaurant -- on a day they're normally closed -- just for us. That kind of kindness is almost unheard of. From the moment we walked in, the staff treated us like family. They set up a beautiful, intimate space, took incredible care of our guests, and made sure everything flowed seamlessly. The food was fantastic. The cocktails were perfection. And every single person there felt genuinely invested in making our wedding reception special. Because of them, our day went from almost falling apart to being absolutely unforgettable. Everyone at our reception raved about the experience -- and so are we. If you want a place with incredible food, amazing drinks, and a staff who actually gives a damn about people, go to One Bourbon. They earned customers for life that night. Thank you Meg, Matt, and staff for saving our wedding day and turning it into something magical.

There's lots of parking which is really nice! The menu is full of classic Southern comfort food, like fried chicken, meatloaf, pork chops, and plenty of sides. We had a group of four and everyone got the $10 lunch plate special which comes with one meat and two sides (+cornbread)! Honestly I don't know of many places that have such a great lunch special. I got the catfish with mac and cheese and collard greens, and Nate got fried chicken (choice of a leg, thigh, or wing) with green beans and mac and cheese. Others in our group got the meatloaf. Service was very friendly and welcoming! Order at the counter and they'll bring your food out. The wait is well worth it because their catfish is the best I've had - it was super crispy on the outside, with tender, perfectly seasoned, flaky fish. I love the collard greens and the mac and cheese is creamy and delicious. It's a very generous portion of food for only $10, you really can't beat it. I loved this meal and will definitely be back for another $10 lunch plate! I'd love to try their pork chops soon.

For any spice lovers out there, I WARN YOU to be careful with the Cluckin' hot sauce. After trying their Cluckin' Hot Sandwhich, I literally thought I was dying. Being of Asian descent, I LOVE hot n spicy stuff, and have some type of decently spicy sauce (habanero, ghost, and sometimes reaper pepper sauces) every single day.. They really weren't kidding when they said that the sandwich was an 11/10 hot.. because I feel like I'm on cloud nine from that spice high after taking 2 small bites, and it's been 10 minutes since that.. sweating as I type this out, nostrils are flowing, the pain could be described as biting onto a molten rock of lava, I'm hanging on by a thread. Maybe I'm overreacting.. maybe I'm just a wuss and really can't handle as much spice as I thought I could.. but upon looking at the JuJu Bird Profile on the Downtown GR Market website, the website says quote: "Most of their sauces are created in-house including the Garlic Parm and the SOCLUCKIN' HOT, which is so spicy, it's more of an extreme challenge than a meal! " More of an extreme challenge than a meal?? You bet ya I'll take up on that challenge, regardless if I must sacrifice my hole or replace my toilet.. Would totally recommend 10/10!

Always a good choice to grab chicken from Juju Bird…read more The boneless wings are large, meat is not too moist & not too dry. The portions are large. Handcut style fries hit the spot; the only complaint I'd have is that they're way too salty for me. You can't go wrong with their Seoul Sticky sauce, it's like a Gochujang flavored bbq sauce.

They also had $1 chicken tenders during happy hour, so I ordered six - they were a bit smaller than I was expecting but at $1 each it's a great deal. The tenders were cooked well - crispy on the outside and juicy inside. I'd rank Hancock's chicken tenders in my top 5 in GR. Other food options include sandwiches, wraps, a burger, bone in chicken, sides like pimento mac and cheese, and their jalapeno cheddar cornbread. They also have a vegan option (seitan patty). I love the hot spice level, which isn't super spicy. Their boozy slushies are refreshing and tasty, and they usually have one or two rotating flavors. The patio has some yard games and space for groups. There's metered street parking available.

We ordered the hottest chicken sandwich, which in my opinion had great flavor but I wouldn't say it's overwhelmingly hot. The jalapeño corn bread is deliciously sweet and moist. Pair it with their butter, that's chef's kiss. We also had an order of the chicken and waffles. Honestly, I think the waffles might be my favorite thing on the menu. It has this caramelized top layer that provides a satisfying crunch with each bite and it's as dense as a piece of cake. Highly recommend. It's a cute little restaurant with a darling outside, perfect place for lunch or a summer night. The service is always top notch.
