This place is an awesome, eclectic, and personable spot with incredible food as well as service…read more The BIzzy Grizzys or whatever they called them were one of my favorite appetizers ever, and I don't typically like things like that. At first I was hesitant because of the price, and it being biscuits, but they made me eat those words and more. It was like a large biscuit muffin top with jalapeño, cheese and honey glaze (I think) and it came with a white cheddar cheese sauce to dip it in that was outrageously delicious. For a guy who hates cheddar biscuits, I've got to say I'm blown away. My wife ordered the steak with fingerling potatoes and carrots. It was on the pricier side, but yet again well worth it. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the veggies were pretty good too. They had live music playing as well tonight. It was a jazzy kind of vibe and it didn't over power anyone talking or anything. The guy had some serious skill too. To top it off, we had some pretty killer service from everyone there. From the hostess taking our names, random servers walking around, and our fantastic server (I forget her name but she was blonde and worked upstairs and had a a really great attitude. The expo or food runner dropping our food off anticipated us possibly needing an extra plate and brought one without asking which was super awesome and ended up coming in handy ( I knew my wife wouldn't finish that steak alone) and she brought it without asking and was ready with a smile to get more. I used to be a GM (I hate when people use this saying but...) truly I know how hard it is to find good workers and the folks running it here seem to have it down. I come from a place where you have to drive 100 mi or more for average service. So seeing exceptional service is really almost too good to be true. I'd definitely stop in for a bite. It's worth every penny. We'll be back for dessert, they have seasonal crème brûlées!

I dined at TOG today for a business lunch and, unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing…read more At the end of our meal, I asked for a to-go box because I had barely touched my food. My guest and I spent most of our lunch talking, and I left with nearly an entire meal. About 20 minutes after leaving, I realized I had forgotten my box and immediately called the restaurant to see if it was still there. The young lady who answered the phone asked where I had been seated. I explained that I was at the very first table at the front of the restaurant. Within seconds, she told me there was nothing there. Her tone made it clear that assisting me was not a priority. Given that the hostess stand is located at the back of the restaurant and I was seated at the front, I do not believe there was enough time for her to actually check before dismissing my concern. After I sent an email regarding the situation, the hostess responded that she had walked through the restaurant looking for the box. Based on the timing of our phone conversation, I find that difficult to believe. In her response, she also stated that she checked with the servers after our call had ended, which suggests that no real effort was made while I was on the phone. What is most disappointing is that I am a regular customer. Today, I paid $56.00 for lunch for myself and my business guest. Between a server who was largely absent throughout the meal and the dismissive interaction when I called about my forgotten food, the level of service fell far below what I have come to expect. Everyone has an occasional bad day, but customer service is often defined by how issues are handled after something goes wrong. In this case, I felt dismissed rather than helped. Unfortunately, after today's experience, I do not plan to return.

How delightful. What a world we live in! My husband and I got a chicken and avo sandwich with brussel sprouts and a farmhouse platter. The goat cheese grits was incredible! Got seated and were never welcomed we had to ask a server to please get us drinks. The same thing happened when we needed to order. It seemed no one knew we were in the section. Our table of three took us almost 1.45 to have lunch. Front of the house might not have had it together but the kitchen did! The food was great! We had fried green tomato app- fantastic sauce. One had shrimp and grits she loved her meal- grits were course ground. I had the veggie omelette and subbed Brussels sprouts for potatoes and they were amazing. I would highly recommend trying this combo! All in all food is good but the service was slow and not very efficient- honestly the service was bad enough to rate a three but I loved those dang Brussels sprouts with my omelette!

The funny thing is, I didn't even request it! It just happened so perfectly! It was like it was meant to be! I enjoyed catfish and pancakes. The catfish was fried hard, the way I like it. I don't have anything bad to say about this place. I'll have to visit when they serve their ice cream because the flavors sound amazing. To top such a great experience off, the Chef/Owner of the place, Ms. Teresa, came out and spoke to my colleague and I and thanked us for our business! If that's not great business, I don't know what it is!

It was a pleasure to meet Ms. Teresa and hear her passion for the business, feeding/treating people well and showing off her community gem! Our table of three feasted on the Boston Big (two eggs, two sausages, two pancakes and hash browns), chicken & waffles, and one of the most tasty turkey burger I've had in my years. Wehave to come back for the shrimp & grits! Can't wait until summer time when the ice cream parlor portion opens. They are open every first & third Sunday for soul food goodness starting at noon until they sell out! Don't sleep!
