I drive them nuts with all questions but the gentleman in the section took his time to explain different mulch types n sizes and educated me that outdoor mulch can be used indoor plants as well and when I told him I needed a small bag not the huge one He looked around and saw a damaged bag n said he will give it to me for discount , I agreed. the gentleman carried the bag , wrapped it in plastic cover n brought it to cashier . I have never done a survey for a home depot store for one of the workers but I can not go without letting you know about the person in the plumbing dept I believe his name is Jackson. I have to say what an amazing person and knowledgeable he is. The first time I met him he was able to help me and then about a week later or so I had to go back to the plumbing dept hoping he was there and he was. I had some very unusual plumbing issues with my boat but once again he knew what I needed and helped me through making sure I had everything I needed. You have to know about this person and how he is a asset to home depot and should be recognized. A big thank you to Steve and Jen for helping resolve an issue with an Anderson Storm door. Home Depot was great Anderson customer service is below par. The 90 day warranty is worthless. Shame on Anderson. It would be great if Anderson Packed the storm doors with sufficient foam and padding to protect the doors during Shipping. The warranty only covers parts. AVOID online order pick up at this store due to false shoplifting accusation harassment I went to this store very often for shopping in-store and online order pick up. Every year, I bought thousands of dollars of tools and materials from the store. Yesterday when I walked by the holiday tool promotions section. A policeman came up to me asking if an image taken by the surveillance camera is me and the security guy Jim in the store came up saying he saw me multiple times stealing tools from the store and he tried to stop me every time but I never stopped. Totally ridiculous for something never happened! I went to their back-office escorted by the policeman. After I showed them the receipt for the item I had in my hand which was an online order picked up at the customer service on the day the image was taken (luckily I got my cellphone fully charged), together with a long history of hundreds of orders I purchased online. Jim obviously realized he got the wrong guy but still quibbled he had the evidence but just can't find it now. They ended up having to let me go. I only simply requested an apology from Jim and he refused, arguing he was just doing his job. I understood his duty of thief prevention of this store. But his duty should be running after the right thief, not arbitrarily harassing a long-term loyal customer shopping at the store for years. In common sense, a man needs to apologize for the mistake he made. Simple enough for me. He was probably trying to do his job but just did it wrong. To my surprise, the police officer backed him up saying Jim didn't have to apologize, and even telling me Jim didn't even need to tell me his full name. They even threatened me with an attitude like I had been stealing from the store and luckily enough to get away without being arrested due to lack of evidence this time. Because they checked my ID, they will come to my door when they had the evidence. I went up to the manager of the store who also refused to apologize and didn't identify herself as well. She encouraged me to reach out to their headquarter which I will definitely do to get the apology I deserved. The reason I left this review is to remind people to avoid online order pick up at the store. Based on my own experience, anyone who caught on the surveillance camera with an item in hand could be suspected of shoplifting and going on an unpleasant journey to Jim's back-office escorted by the police. It was such a terrible humiliation in public with everyone shopping in the store on watch, thinking a thief was just caught. I know due to COVID, the retail stores have been suffering the worsening shoplifting issue. Although I don't have the intelligence to provide them any help on that, I at least know chasing after a long-term loyal customer is not the optimal solution. In addition, it is not a good practice by refusing to apologize for their mistakes. I will still shop at the store with curbside pick up only that the item is going to be brought out of the door by one of their own employee who hopefully would be less likely to be the next victim of such harassment. read more

Box store locations aren't all the same, you have a similar feel to them, but the lay out is different at some. This location has been around for awhile now and has proven to be a memorable one. Staff here usually are available and generally friendly vs some other locations from my experience. Able to actually see people here and ask for help way easier than one would think usually, not always so can't say perfect but very good. What's good here? Clean, easy to navigate around this store, usually has what I need for lawn and garden, pest control. Lumber section, plumbing tend to be well stocked enough. Masonry supplies good also. Lighting department is ok too. Appliances here smaller selection than some other locales but has the essentials. Deduction of one star: HVAC air filter selection and inventory has been spotty for years at this location, usually end up having to drive further to Jericho which tends to manage this inventory control better. Overall way better than most of the other locations so been living with this. Fix this I probably don't need to visit Jericho as frequently just for Air Filters. read more

Finally- this location is about half the size of the other area Home Depots and there definitely is a difference in the amount of help available and the knowledge and friendliness of the employees here. Even though it is smaller than the other Home Depots in the area, they have everything you need - with the bonus that it is almost always easier to find. The employees are pretty damn helpful here and the extra secret bonus is that this place is set back from the road in a blind spot- so it is almost NEVER crowded. Parking in front. read more

All your home improvement staples are here, and unlike their NYC locations, you'll find a lot more "outside stuff," like siding, decking materials, patio furniture, and outdoor lighting. I called twice on a Saturday morning around 9 am (they open at 6) and was greeted by the system that asked what I was calling about but didn't even understand simple answers such as "representative" and "I have a question" after I repeated myself three times. Then it was transferred and kept ringing for a long time and nobody picked up. I called again half an hour later and the same thing. went into home depot to purchase some heavy duty extension cords. as with most home depots i was greeted as i walked in and asked if they could help. i was directed over to the electrical isle, were there just so happened to be a salesman. he was more than eager to help and told me the difference between the cords. i was extremely pleased with the selection and customer service. if i had to say this particular home depot is a bit smaller than other home depots and not quit as much of a selection . but i did find what i needed and i was in and out in less than 15 minutes. there is a big private parking lot which they just finished paving and there is generally no problem parking. read more

As other have mentioned, it's not the biggest Home Depot, but its always got everything I may need... or at least what my parents usually ask me to pick up. I'm one of those girls who would never survive in this store if it wasn't for the friendly staff, and great organization. I must have that wide-eyed lost look every time I walk in here, and within minutes, someone is helping me find exactly what I need, and out the door very quickly. They take their jobs seriously, and are always very helpful! I think I would like this place more, if I actually knew what half the things were used for, but for my purposes, they rock it!!! They have ample parking, and one of the guys is always more than willing to help you bring some of the bigger items to your car for you if you need help. My damsel in distress act works every time. I am SO glad/lucky to have a Home Depot so close to where I live. They pretty much have everything I go in for but sometimes I have to head over to the one in Jericho (again lucky me its so close too) which really caters more to the Pros (better selection of rental tools and fussy bits only used by someone with skill). This HD always has a greeter and call me old fashioned but I like that. Very well attended - maybe too much so, wouldn't be bad to expand the area for the kids. I have been to this Home Depot many times but in the past week I was there 7 times. I think it is just time for me to pack up and move here or just get a job. No I don't come for the enjoyment if that's what you were thinking. My family is fixing up our house and home depot has everything we need. The staff here is overly friendly but in a good way! Every staff member I have encountered was very helpful. Someone helped me with ply wood one day, the next someone helped me find the perfect squeegee, and the paint people also very helpful. I think the most helpful was the guy in electric. He brought my parents to all the items they needed. He was very knowledgeable and super friendly. Oh and the guy in gardens also helpful. Helped us find the perfect nozzle for our garden hose. Also can't forget the guy in floors. Helped us get our 12 bundles of hard wood floor onto the cart. I would say this is the best Home Depot I have been to. It is small but they are not lacking in variety. I am sure that I will be back here many times in the upcoming week. I hope the staff doesn't think I am crazy. I promise I am just there because we really need tons of home improvement items. read more

I can not imagine what life was like before Home Depot. Being a home owner now, and having a "fixer upper" on my hands I need this place in my life. This store has everything you need for every project that might be taking place at your home. The items they carry range from cleaning supplies to building supplies, straight to Christmas trees and decorations during the holiday season. The service at this particular location is incredible. Just the other day I went there to pick up a few items and I was approached in every aisle by an employee and offered assistance. One of the employees actually carried some storage bins to the register for me since my cart was already filled to capacity. The employees are not only helpful but they are knowledgeable as well. When asked what type of paint I should use on my on my aluminum siding, they knew just how to help me. They actually suggested I power wash my house before I paint it which for obvious reasons makes sense. These people have an answer for everything and Home Depot has everything you need to make your home beautiful. With the help of Home Depot I won't have a "fixer upper" for long. read more

I purchased carpeting from Home Depot and it was a total fiasco from beginning to end. When I requested three carpet swatches I was told they would arrive in two days. However, it took ten days for two carpet swatches to arrive! I wrote an email to Home Depot offices with this problem and never received a response. Someone who was contracted by Home Depot came over to my house to measure the room i wanted to carpet. This turned out to be a fiasco as he measured the room wrong. After laying the carpet in the room, I presently have ten extra yards of carpeting I do not need! When you contact the installer who is contracted out by Home Depot, you are left totally frustrated and disgusted. I purchased the carpeting over a month before the installation and they could not guarantee a time or date for installation. The installation really showed the lack of attention that Home Depot has when it contracts out its work. You are given a four hour time period for delivery, however no one ever tells you that they are on their way until they show up at the door. The people who came to install my carpeting had minimal communication skills in English. One of them did not speak English at all and the other installer had a minimum understanding of the language which made it difficult to communicate. When they arrived it was pouring rain outside. You would think that they would cover their feet when they installed the carpeting. If you did you would have been mistaken. They installed my carpeting with wet shoes on new floor covering. As I have stated before to add additional insult to injury, I had an overage of ten yards of carpeting that I paid for which weren't needed. There was also additional padding, which I paid for but they took that with them. The lesson I learned from this purchase is what everyone told me. Buy from a local merchant who will give you expertise, and attention to detail. Not a corporation who contracts out all its work! All anyone is looking for is a good rating, not good service! read more

The customer service in this Syosset location is by far the WORST. Every single employee here has major attitude problems. I get it, you work in customer service (been there) but like at least pretend to care. Mostly all of them are annoyed when you ask a question on where something is. Literally the worst place. I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor and was given to Holly. I explained to her my situation and she said that the person I needed to speak to was Joanne, but she was gone for the day. She took my name and number and told me Joanne would call me back when she was in the next day. Needless to say, I never did hear from Joanne today, which honestly doesn't surprise me. Like my fellow Yelper Thom said, this is by far one of the most friendly Home Depot's I've ever been to. Multiple times I was asked if I needed help with anything, sale associates in abundance. Refreshing as with other HD's you have to search for a good 10-15 minutes before finding somebody to lend you a hand, and they act like you're bothering them, but not at this Home Depot! Definitely recommend this location if you're close by, I'd even go as far as saying its worth driving out of your way if you want a better shopping experience. read more

If you do shop here, do NOT buy windows, doors or sheds. They are super expensive and lack in quality.
