Everything went well. I went to Home Depot today to get some wood filler and wood glue. I had a little project. I was looking around and an employee just asked If she could help me. She helped me a lot with all I needed. Karli was her name. I've been to this Home Depot a lot and every time I'm there the staff is SO helpful! At checkout this really nice woman checked me out. Do not work with this store they are disrespectful and do not take care of their associates. They pick out individual associates to bully and they really pray on your downfall. This is the most toxic place. I've ever worked in and they run self check out terribly. The other associates are rude and they don't teach you anything. The training is terrible. and the HR staff doesn't even do her job. read more

I truly try to see the best in every establishment I write about. I'm not on Yelp to bash or badmouth businesses. Instead, I want to help out and give people honest and trustworthy reviews so they know where to eat, drink, and shop. Well, it's taken some time, but I was finally pushed to a point where a 1-star review was needed. Because all of those positive words I just mentioned that I try to look for, don't exist at the Riverhead Home Depot. Okay, I would be remiss if I didn't begin this negatively-charged fiasco with the actual positives of this Home Depot experience. The employee who assisted my fiancé and I in buying a Weber grill about a month ago was helpful and pretty funny/real. He didn't try to sell us anything that we didn't need and was even able to discount a grill cover for us to entice our purchase. That's about as far as I can go with the positives... From that point, things were a monster of a mess. The grill was supposed to be delivered already assembled (with the order being fulfilled by Home Depot Patchogue) as per what we stated to the initial employee, but it was still in the box on the morning of delivery. I refused the delivery and called up the Riverhead store. The woman who answered put me on hold several times and didn't seem to have an answer other than cancelling and reordering the grill which confused me so I asked for a manager. This manager said that apparently the assembly part of the order was never actually filled out (despite stating we wanted that when we initially bought it), but the person in charge of deliveries would call me that day or the next to go from there. That call was 9:30 in the morning and so I waited until the following day at 12:00 noon before calling back (because I hadn't heard anything from anyone). I honestly didn't think I would because Home Depot's automated texts stated that my order was complete. If not for that initial conversation and the fact that Patchogue was fulfilling the order, I'm not sure what would've happened. So on that follow-up call, the employee I talked to said he was going to walk the paperwork up to the person in charge of deliveries and she'd get back to me. I heard nothing the rest of that day and all day the following one. At around 4:00 PM, I finally tried calling Home Depot Riverhead again and was met with being put on hold for over a half hour. A person finally answered only to transfer me and have my call dropped. Every time I called back I got the same thing. Better yet, Home Depot's customer service line said they have no other way of contacting the store besides the number I tried (I don't believe that for a second). And even better still, I was easily able to get in touch with Home Depot Patchogue and they knew Riverhead doesn't answer their phones. How is that allowed?! What kind of game are they playing over there? Insanity. Luckily, Home Depot Patchogue's manager helped with getting things straightened out because we were on the cusp of having to drive out to Riverhead just to try to speak to someone. It's crazy to think how inconvenienced and ridiculous the whole process was in just a few days. Overall, I initially swore off all Home Depot's, but I took it back a step knowing I'll need to shop there eventually just for pricing and product competition. But having said that, I know I will never shop at the Home Depot Riverhead location again. Our initial interaction was great, but all of the unprofessionalism, laziness, stress, and frustration that followed makes this an unfortunately easy 1-star review. Stay away. This is Home Depot Store number 1222 and it's a Big one, featuring the largest Rental Center that I've ever seen at a H.D. This place rents everything that a Long Islander would ever need to get the job done, no matter how big that job might be. Stump Grinders, Moving Trailers, Wood Chippers, Earthmoving Equipment, Air Compressors, Generators, Job Site Heaters, Pressure Washers, Augers, Tillers, Chainsaws, Floor Strippers, and Alot more. Seasonal display areas are also huge in comparison to any of my local stores. I found Service here to be friendly and very helpful plus checking out was a breeze. I will definitely return to this H.D. for any of my future home improvement supplies. read more

I just had a tile installer from Home Depot which is USIG in Farmingdale NY. The worker was unhappy with my comments to his boss so he forced his way into my home to take pictures of the damage. He literally was pushing against the door as I was trying to lock it. When I told him to get out he left to only let himself in my home again. Terrible!!! No employees to help you. Went to get a few bags of sand. There were only a few bags left and all bags damaged and bags not full, obviously not paying full price for half bag of sand, but no employees working at all in garden area or around to ask about a discount. Also not a single checkout lane that is not self checkout. So again noone to approach about a discount. I will not be returning to this location. Stop promoting the self checkout lanes!! Its a major inconvenience when there is an issue with products etc. Pay your employees and bring back quality customer service. read more

I have been a long time customer of the Riverhead Home Depot. I have built 2 houses both with many gardens. I have purchased everything I needed from this store over 27 years. Today I have called the garden center 5 time's. Spoke with 2 different people and have been sent in numerous directions all because I am trying to order a LARGE mulch order. Finally after speaking with someone who I was hoping would place my order I got hung up on. I have been trying to call back now for a half hour and no one is answering. I have Been a HomeDepot Pro Customer for 20 years , I have spent over 300 thousand dollars Plus this and Florida stores , Complete Home remodels , appliances etc . I go there almost daily at times . I was in need of a replacement Card. Three times we instructed them that we live in a PO Box only Town , Quogue NY . Three times they sent the card and it was returned . I have used my card since , As instructed waiting in vain for new card . Today I attempted to use my card as usual and it was denied . So I had my wife call and find out the issue , Since I was in the process of an ordered purchase . The Rep indicated to my wife it was because of the card issue , Then after further review we were told by a follow up call to Supervisors and other agents that the REP Lied and indicated that my wife indicated we were not in business and Cancelled your Credit card , That was a Fraudulent statement . It's My Card and I am the only person with the ability to convey and information about my card . So far every person from Customerr service at Home DEPOT indicated it was not their issue and that my wife had cancelled the card because she could not name the cards Business name on the application from 2006 , That upgrade to pro ,was requested by the store for me in a . promotion Because I buy a large amount of Merchandise. HOMEDEPOT interest RATES are absolutely the worst in the market . But it's normally a way to buy large items in a short time periods in remodels . DO NOT USE HOMEDEPOT CREDIT CARD services , Use a less interest card if you shop there , CITI BANK is the producer and has been nothing less than terrible and employs only phone reps that are Home Reading a script . Do not buy appliances at Home Depot. The delivery experience is the WORST. Take your business elsewhere. They will just drop it wherever and not put it in place. If you have an issue with that, they'll tell you ,"installation" is EXTRA. Bought a washer with a pedestal. Have all hook ups already in place. They REFUSED to put the washer on the Pedestal. Said oh we don't do that unless you pay for installation. You ll have to get someone to come and lift it up and place it on top of the washer for you. I don't think I have ever had an experience quite like I did today. I couldn't find a single person to help me with a small request- every person I approached told me they didn't work in that area. When I finally found the 2 people that did work in that area they both told me they were busy with other customers and would be for a long time! I'm confused why employees can not be trained in the entire store so they are able to provide customer service. There is something so off putting when you're desperate to find help and multiple sales people turn you away. Ultimately I found one very helpful employee who didn't work in that area but was willing to help and I left with what I needed. What a mess!!! read more

Here is what happens when you have a roof done with HomeDepot: Ruin your couch when they remove and replace skylights Get a flat when you run over all the nails left in driveway. Have to call them to come back to clean the mess they left in back yard. Roof leaks in two spots. You call them to fix, which they do by using a calk gun. Roof leaks in 5 spots because whatever they did caused additional leaks. You have sheet rock damage in house and mold. When you haggle with them to fix, they act like you are being done a favor. Advise: Use anyone but HomeDepot. The salesman Vance will say whatever he has to to sell a job. They do not care about your house, just getting paid read more

Don't use them for renovations. Salesman was great. Then things went from good to horrible. Had kitchen and bathroom cabinets done plus back splash. Prepaid over $30000 for work. Various trades came at different times and after 1 1/2 months still waiting for kitchen draws to be completed. Lost order Covid supply chain etc. Every excuse in the book. Customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. No one returns call. Boss didn't even have curiosity to get back after 2 calls. Ridiculous Stay away!!!! read more

Came to this location to buy a new grill for Memorial Day weekend. The grill was wrapped in plastic, but once we got it home and opened it up we saw that the grill was not only completely filthy, but also rusted all around. The grill also had stickers on it from the manufacturer which is completely normal, but they were extremely faded and worn away, which leads me to believe that this grill was probably just on display for months. I ended up calling a different Home Depot location to ask about exchanging and they were super nice and understanding. When I showed up to exchange the grill the employees were literally APPALLED that the riverhead location had sold me this item. I felt bad returning it, but the employees completely justified my feelings and told me that they would have never sold me a product in that condition. Beware of Home Depot's use of NONSTOPDELIVERY shipping company. My husband placed an order (Order # CA93395750) for a Riverbrook 7-piece Outdoor Patio Dining Set on May 18, 2021. We were immediately given a delivery date of June 9th 2021. A few days prior to June 9th, two of the chairs (end chairs) were delivered. By June 11 nothing else arrived. Home Depot told us it was not their responsibility and to call the shipping company, which he did. The shipping company said they would do a "Dock Search" for the two boxes containing our four other chairs in one box and the patio table in the other box. The "Dock Search" lasted over two weeks. Obviously, the items we paid for were lost or stolen. Home Depot offered a "re-order" with a delivery date in August or later. We told them to keep searching for our items but they referred us back to the shipping company. For all this aggravation, Home Depot is not offering a consolation, they should let us at least keep the two chairs and refund our money but their answer was "no". They will not refund the money until this same shipping company picks up the two chairs that were delivered early. Home Depot has washed their hands of our problem. THE WORST!!! One issue after the other. We ordered wood flooring they deliver the WRONG ones. Not learning from this, we ordered GAS dryer. They deliver ELECTRIC dryer. They take it back and we pay the extras for GAS dryer and INSTALLATION. They now deliver the GAS dryer but delivery guy says he doesn't hook it up!! Now I need to find a plumber!! Stupid me. I haven't has any problems with the store except for a purchase last year of Rubbermaid Roughneck 45 gallon trash cans with wheels. The lids didn't fit right and within a few weeks, both lids cracked and split with nothing more than normal use. With some research on reviews, I found that many customers experienced the same. The good news is that Home Depot doesn't list the product on their website any more. The bad news is that neither Home Depot or Rubbermaid has made an effort to acknowledge the product defect or make an attempt to respond to the poor reviews. Very surprising considering the lip service both companies give themselves in regards to customer service and social media. read more

I'm shocked and horrified that Home Depot only pays their employees $11 an hour and you're only allowed to work 30 hours a week and that works out to about $250 a week if you're lucky how can you possibly feed a family on that wage. I've been in business for over 40 years and I'm horrified that corporate America Home Depot care so little about their employees , we have sponsored employees, housed and gave them vehicles. This is the worst customer service experience I've ever had for anything! I wanted to order some flooring for a house I am selling. After completing the process in store, and having someone come out and measure, I prepaid with my HD credit card. Two days later I called the installer and found out that they would not even have the material for nearly three more weeks! I explained that I was closing before that and would have to cancel the purchase. The installer said I would have to contact the store to cancel. Today was the THIRD day in a row I've tried to talk to someone at the store, only to get shunted from one department to another and eventually disconnected. I am on the road and can't go to the store in person. Then I went to my account online to try to do it there and discovered that on the same day I had purchased the flooring (by phone) there was a charge on my account for $2999.00 from someplace in Minnesota! I went here again because they are the only game in town, except Lowes and the overpriced little guys (40% higher) and they know and do not care about the customer. I thought I was going to have a better experience when an employee asked me if I needed help getting an item from the top shelf which required a ladder. She said she would get someone and 25 minutes later a grabber a ladder and got it myself. Then another employee asked if i needed help and I told him I was looking for an item that the website showed having almost 400 in stock (I would understand if it said 10 and they were out). He asked me to look it up on my phone because he needed the item number even though i had the exact name of it. He was honest and said he wasn't sure but pointed me towards the opposite side of the store. A person that said he was a manager then asked me if I needed help finding something and the same scenario of going through the phone and he said he would look on his computer and asked me to wait a few minutes. 10 minutes later he got up and walked pass me and didn't say another word. Do NOT get a kitchen from this Home Depot. What started out with a referral from a designer turned into a nightmare. Months of back and forth over $30,000 in cabinets and install. The waiting on hold time is ridiculous . I can't believe they are even in the kitchen business . This is the heart of the home and shame on them! I am beyond frustrated with there service .From start to finish it has been extremely difficult. Home Depot sells a decent product but they do not know how to design, implement and understand high or mid level cabinets. Unfortunately the staff is not educated in understanding all the elements of the design and take responsible for there mistakes.
