    For review purposes, I think it is fair to compare Home Depot locations to each other. And this location has always been reliable for us. We moved to Reno 10 years ago from Southern California. It was always a stressful experience when I went to the Home Depot near our old house. Before, I could rarely find someone to assist me and if I did they typically made me feel they were put out and/or didn't have an answer. The first time I stepped into this Reno location, it was a completely different experience! I had SEVERAL people asking me if I needed help - I didn't need to seek out anyone! And if they didn't know the answer to my question, they would go out of their way to find an answer. Over the years, my visits here have always been positive. The people are friendly and helpful. And the store is kept neat and pretty well stocked. My only minor complaint is that I wish they had a tap option to pay at the self-checkout stations. I imagine that change will come with time. After coming here a couple times just this week, I realize I need to give them a shout out! In particular, to Logan in the paint department! He patiently helped me both times and knew exactly what I needed for two separate DIY jobs. After following his directions, our mailbox looks brand new!

    Time to paint and refresh! This is the place.

    Very positive experience at the paint department. The representative went out of his way to make it a good experience. My paint was mixed and ready in minutes, given the pourable spout as well as the wooden stirrer and can opener. My paint was tested on the top and dried to show the exact color was correct. He also let me know that Home Depot will also save the colors that you purchase in their system under your name. Nice! Busy time and I had the painters already in my home so appreciated the speedy and efficient service! Not to mention I love Behr paint, can always find the color and finish I want.

    This store is mostly organized, signed, clean and easy to shop. The quantity and quality is there. Admittedly I did not need help with a recent project as I know everything I need to know about this one. That being said, it is a good thing. We spent around 1.5 hours looking at different choices and pricing in a design area of the store. Not one person offered assistance. The next day I returned to make the purchase. After loading 18 of 20 boxes of flooring someone finally asked if I needed help. I said I could get the last 2 boxes. At check out with an entire flat cart of heavy products that came to over $1,000, there was no offer of loading assistance. I remember a different shopping experience in the past. This feels like the Walmart of home improvement now.

    Yesterday, I went to Home Depot off 80/MacCarran about 4 times for supplies for the house renovation project we've been working on in NW Reno. Our previous tenant Dani and her kids totally trashed the house before they left, and let their dog urinate over every single baseboard and every piece of carpet in the house. We had mold problems in a couple of the rooms, toys and food inside the air vents in the floor (WTF), and we ended up having to replace every single baseboard in the entire place, had to completely rip out the carpets and replace it with hardwood laminate flooring, and even had to replace some of the door frames. I just can't believe that a relatively young mom with a seemingly good job (I suppose working at the credit union on Robb Dr seems like a good job) could let her kids live like that. It was hard to breathe in there, with all the urine stench. Anyway, we are nearing the completion of the project, and I needed a couple odds and ends. I was trying to fix a light fixture in one of the bathrooms, and approached Jon in the paint section to ask a question. He was busy, but left the paint area to help me find the things I was looking for, and even gave me some cost saving tips. Jon was sooo helpful in getting us the info and equipment we needed for our house renovation project in NW Reno! I'm so glad I walked up to him. THANK YOU JON!!!

I originally called him for a second opinion after an initial visit thru my home warranty company left me feeling uneasy with another appliance company assigned by my home warranty with American Home Sheild. This company had stated I just needed to clean out the dryer drum and vents inside and thru the wall. They stated the dryer was fine, however it still wasn't drying clothes properly. Also all my vents had been cleaned recently. So something just didn't sit right with me. Kevin came in, carefully troubleshot my dryer, running multiple test and gave his diagnosis, confirming my suspicions. He was honest, thorough, and never once tried to upsell or exaggerate the issue. The difference in integrity and professionalism was night and day. His pricing was fair, transparent, and reasonable. You can tell he genuinely cares about doing right by his customers. It's especially refreshing to see a motivated young entrepreneur working hard to build his own business the right way, with honesty, skill, and work ethic. If you're looking for someone trustworthy, knowledgeable, and responsive, Kevin is absolutely the one to call. I'm so glad I trusted my instincts and reached out to him.

Imagine my surprise and disappointment when I read All Sales Final on the receipt. However, I still called and spoke to Sherri, explained we didn't want a refund but to exchange for one that would fit. She was so helpful and understanding and allowed us to make an exchange. Both the employees on the floor were also helpful and assisted with the loading/unloading. I recommend this place for all your appliance needs. It is locally owned and operated. They sell the appliances at a great price and even offer 90 day warranty and delivery services. Thank you to Sherri and the store employees that were so helpful to us.

Their guy removed the part (Spider Gear), it was a bit time consuming, but I completely understood as I had just done the work to remove my own and found it disintegrating on the inner stainless tub. Nicole charged a fair price for the used replacement part, but upon removal they could not tap the bolts out. Due to the pot metal (Zinc blend) on these Spider Gears. Nicole further discounted the part, so that I could proceed to take it home and tap these bolts out myself. Ultimately, the part did not work for me, as the metal framework (being softer than the bolts) cracked as the bolts were tapped out. However I was still impressed with their professional and fair conduct with this transaction and if I need a washer/dryer or any parts in the future, I will definitely come to them first. Shawn A.

Charged my card $495 when I asked him what the difference was he said it was a credit card fee which wasn't disclosed. Trying to get this person back after the part was in was a nightmare. He called and canceled several times. Finally had to come when my son was home. He supposedly asked my son if he could turn the ice back on without putting the ice trap in. When I got home the next day, there was ice all over my freezer and my new hardwood floors. When I contacted him, he told me it wasn't his problem to put the ice trap back in. Now, a couple days later the refrigerator is still leaking. It clearly wasn't the icemaker that he charged me for and replaced. He's a scammer.

Unfortunately, our recent experiences have been frustrating enough to make us reconsider. On 11/02, we made a purchase and noticed afterward that we were overcharged. After reviewing the receipt, we had to go back and were refunded nearly $26 from a $72 total. Mistakes happen, but we appreciated the refund being processed correctly. However, things got worse when we saw a charge from the store on our credit card dated 11/28--even though neither of us had visited the store that day. We tried repeatedly to get in touch with someone who could explain the charge, but every time we called, the employee who answered said the person who could help wasn't in and to call back the next day. This went on for several days with no progress. Eventually, my husband went into the store, hoping for some answers. Unfortunately, he was again told that no one was available to help. There was no effort to take down our information, no concern shown, no follow-up, and no offer to pass along the issue to a manager. After getting nowhere with the store, we ended up disputing the charge with our bank. We're disappointed by how this was handled. If you shop here, definitely double-check your receipts and monitor your credit card for any unexplained charges. The convenience of a local store only goes so far when the customer service doesn't measure up.

Love this small but mighty hardware store and their great customer service!
