Omar was the one who helped us and he was soo nice, patient and understanding. He even used his extensive knowledge to experiment with trying to make the color we wanted. Very disappointed. Provo Home Depot is not very good ! Was to receive new washer and dryer but it was damaged on delivery. I asked them to leave it, install, and just order in new door, but was told no. Then asked when a new unit could come, they said they could not confirm. Asked for a full refund and told THEY had to wait on LG.....its now been 4 days, no refund, no calls.. I Called Lowes 2 days ago, ordered same unit, and it was installed today....and saved 100.00 too! Bye Bye Orange, Im a new fan of Blue ! Took 4 calls to all areas of Home Depot Nationally, now working even with local store manager and asst manager and they just want to keep blaming LG, their supplier for delays, that should not be my issue. 1, I have spent thousands of dollars here over the past couple of years, granite counter tops, appliances etc. I purchased some pedestals for my washer and dryer and received the wrong ones. They refunded the money and ordered the correct ones, they were supposed to be delivered today and they changed it to another week. Big shout out to Dave who helped me feel confident enough to buy concrete to fix the holes in my basement floor. He told me what to buy by explaining what each thing was for, walked me through how to do it and told me that I could call home depot and ask for him if I had any trouble. He made me feel like it was much less scary than I'd thought and his instructions were great so I didn't end up needing to call, but I did anyway to thank him for his help. This place has everything, no doubt about it. That's why I come here. Getting help sometimes here is difficult though. I've had some help that have been really good but a little more that hasn't been that pleasant or not able to find anyone that can help. It's frustrating. So stores like this have big wide aisles for a reason, so you can navigate down the aisles with large pieces of wood, big carts etc.... and the current management does noting but clog up every aisle with unneeded displays, carts and sometimes just junk or trash. It's ridiculous, one person on an aisle and it is essentially blocked off. And there is NEVER just one person on an aisle. Clean up the aisles! Prices are good for hardware and lumber but I think other department stores do a little better in furniture and appliances. But still, good prices. read more

My one-time Home Depot experience was a headache. I needed help with moving some lumber and I went to an employee standing by. He looked at me, ignored me, and continued having a casual conversation with a friend. I wandered around until I found someone else and they told me they would find someone to help. I waited. Nobody came. I went AGAIN to another employee and they went to fetch someone else to help. FINALLY, someone came. The lumber was not that great of a quality, but that's a whole other rant that I don't even want to get into. Also, there was only one attendant at the cutting station, and he was very preoccupied with another customer and no one else was there to help him. I had to wait quite a while to even get a simple, quick cut made. This place seems highly understaffed, under trained, and not customer oriented. Customer service should not be this difficult. But at this Home Depot, it definitely is. read more

I had a poignantly bad experience at this establishment. There were no good vibes to be found in the building, not to mention bad music choices for a hardware store, and no one knew who to contact to answer my tile questions for my dog's new bathroom. I was positively sniffed at when I asked if a certain type of tile was safe for Donald's paws, and I felt very put out. I will not be returning to this location again. The only positive tidbit was talking to a handsome and kindly man in the lumber section who will remain unnamed to protect his privacy. You don't go to Home Depot for advice from employees because most don't know what they are talking about. This Home Depot seems to have a plethora of youth working there who lack expertise but make up for it in helpful hands. One young employee helped us secure all of our cargo into our trailer as it was a very windy day and we had insulation boards trying to fly away. We appreciated the help and were very grateful for that young man. In regards to the store alone, they succeed in offering just about everything you could need in a project. I went to the store to purchase a very expensive item. The app said they had one in stock. I went to the location it told me on the app and there was not one. I asked an employee to help me. He scanned the shelf tag and his hand held told him there was 2 in stock. He told me he was going to ask another associate if they could help him locate it. There I was in limbo for 10 minutes. Will not be shopping here again. My friend had an unbelievably poor customer service experience. Her family rented equipment for the day to use at their home, and then her mom fell down a flight of stairs with the 100lb equipment and dolly. While in the hospital with her mother in a coma, my friend Constance's this location to ask for an extension on their rental due to the circumstances... and was denied. While I absolutely get the need to hold customers to deadlines, this is simply unacceptable. I certainly never want to shop somewhere that treats families this way. read more

I called the University Ave Home Depot in Provo, UT about renting a Diamabrush wood tool. I was told there was one in stock and they would hold it for me. I called ahead because the store is about an hour away from where I live... and my final destination was another two hours from the store. I wanted to make sure they had the tool I needed. When I arrived at the rental department there was no Diamabrush wood tool. Apparently they don't know what this is - even though it's listed on their website: https://www.homedepot.com/tool-truck-rental/Wood-Tool/12571/index.html The website does say there are none in stock at the Provo store. However I was told by another store to call because the website isn't always up to date. I was frustrated. I had called ahead asking for a specific tool and was told it was in stock. I drove an hour and had planned my whole weekend around using the tool. The rental department folks offered an alternative tool claiming it would provided the same functionality. At that moment i felt relieved - at least they had something else that would work. Unfortunately I had faith in their "expertise" and took the "alternative" tool. I drove another two hours to my job site. It was late and I still needed to prep the area so I went to bed and would start the next day. I woke up, had some breakfast, prepped the area and went to start on the floor with the alternative tool they provided. The tool did not work at all. I cleaned up the site and drove the two hours back to Provo home depot. When I arrived I explained how the alternative they offered did not work and I wanted credit for my rental. They would not give me a rental credit or a full refund. They were treating me like i was trying to scam them.... saying that I had to tool for a long time and i should have returned it earlier if it didn't work. I had a wasted weekend and had to pay for a rental tool that did not work as they told me it would. I should have never trusted them. In the end I guess I took the "alternative" tool because i had already driven an hour and planned my whole weekend around using the wood tool to clean up some wood floors. I was hopeful they knew what they were doing and that the other tool would work... but it DID NOT! 1) The employees need to be better educated on what tools home depot rents and what the tools do. 2) They shouldn't provide an alternative solution to a problem if they don't understand the problem or the solution. They need to know how tools work. And if they don't know - they shouldn't pretend. 3) If they do provide an "alternative" and it isn't doesn't do the job a credit should be given to let the customer rent the tool they actually need. read more

We bought carpet to be installed. The installers made a mess of the stairs and left exposed ends hanging off of the stairway (rather than tucking the carpet around as is standard). We scheduled a time to have it repaired and I took time off of work to make myself available. The morning it was scheduled to be installed they called to tell me that they didn't have the carpet. We were not available during weekdays for installation so they refused to repair it until a holiday (our one day off). On that day they didn't show up. Now we are in the process of rescheduling with them again. The whole process has been a headache and they have been very unreliable and unprofessional. We were eventually contacted by Home Depot headquarters as they looked into what was going on. They made an effort to make things right by us (although we still had to jump through hoops and spend time on a phone tree to do so). The repairs were done on a Saturday, and we received token compensation for the mess. All in all, it was still a nightmarish headache. read more

Between the total lack of organization of the store, incompetent employees and the fact that they completely had the lumber section blocked off to customers for arts and crafts...done. Just done. Just trying to get lumber for a project took me over an hour. I eventually gave up and went to Lowe's where they asked if I would like an employee to help me load my lumber. I love Home Depot but this location is terrible! You can't ever find anyone to help you and if you do happen to stop an employee they are rude and condescending. The lumber here is great but the 1x4 furring strips are about as straight as a ramen noodle. Also this location is smaller than most stores and has less variety and supply. Went in today to get a fan. Many aisles were closed which is acceptable during these unique circumstances. It appeared to me that items were subsequently placed randomly around the store. I could not find the fans by myself after looking all over (could have been user error). I then asked someone for help and she kindly suggested that "they must have stuck them....at the end of an aisle". After going to where she suggested, I found they were not there. I then looked around for a while longer in the surrounding area and could not find it still. I then asked someone else and at first it seemed like they did not know what a box fan was. She then told me to go to the app or the website. This was disappointing because the reason I asked someone in the first place was because the website was not helpful (some items showed the location in the stores and others didn't even though they were both in store). She then intuitively read the text on my screen saying what aisle the item I was looking for was on. To my surprise (haha), it was not actually there. I then left the store and conveniently found my item at an ace hardware and had someone walk me to my item without me requesting. We ordered an exterior door to be installed at the beginning of Sept. '19 We were told we should hear from them within a couple weeks to schedule the install. After a month had gone by, we called and were told the door was ready to be picked up. We ordered and paid for installation, not for pick-up. When we stated that to them, they said the paperwork was filled out incorrectly by them (the amount we paid was correct for the installation) and that we should hear from the installer within a week. It has now been over 6 weeks since we ordered/paid for the installation. We have called multiple times and nobody can give us a clue as to when the door will be installed. The weather is changing and now they will probably either try to install when snow is flying or we will need to wait for Spring. Very poor handling of this installation. DO NOT GO HERE FOR APPLIANCES!!! We had to wait 2.5 weeks for our fridge and 1 week for our dishwasher. The fridge didn't come when it was suppose to so we had to wait an EXTRA week, which was during our vacation so we had to wait for them deliver when we got back. The DW guys broke the valve on our DW and we had a vacation for a few days after they came so we schedule for the day we would be back. The plumber they set up never gave us a window or a call/text as to when he would be there. We were gone 45 minutes of the whole day and guess when they showed up--with NO call. We were home 10 minutes within a call that they were there and the guy was already gone. We call home depot and the earliest they can get someone there is a WEEK from now. Home depot is THE WORST!!! I am standing on the carpet that was installed in our house. We did the upper floor and the basement with Economy stuff in the basement for kids, dogs and mud room. This carpet was done with a basic pad on concrete. The carpet has held up pretty well and the installation seems average with no problems with tack boards in cement there is only two areas of slight carpet bulge where the stretch was not adequate. The upstairs was where the quality lagged. The "premium" carpet started off with a stain of one type or another during instillation. This are has since faded leading me to believe a bleach or coke based stain was the culprit. The greatest travesty is in our bedroom there is a different pad that was used than the other half of the room which leads me to believe they used the leftover of the economy pad from the basement or it was installed up/side/down, or they just go lazy and used leftover pad or ran out. Regardless full price was paid for the carpet and the deal came in the installation. Next time I will know better and buy from a reputable store that specializes in carpet and get a better install as well. read more

Think again about having Home Depot install anything.... On November 24, 2017 I brought a dishwasher and also paid home depot for an "installation kit" to have it professionally installed. Home Depot contracts appliance installation to XPO Logistics of SLC. First, the installer did not show up at the schedule time. I had someone waiting around for 3-4 hours. No one called. Second, when they showed up the following day they installed the water supply line incorrectly and it leaked water no only in the condo unit which I own but also to the condo below. Once the problem was discovered I immediately called home depot but was referred to XPO. XPO said they will have a plumber over immediately. Again I arranged to have someone waiting for them to show up, which they did not. After calling home depot back they told me to contract an after hours service plumber to fix the supply line which I did. Now it has been a nightmare trying to get Home Depot or XPO or Sedgwick Claims to pay for the emergency plumbing repair. It is like they are trying to avoid me. read more
