I do not like writing reviews, but my attempt at buying a mower at this location was such a disaster I feel like it deserved one. I'm not even going to say anything negative, I'll just type out the timeline of events and you can make your own opinion of it. May 11th-Talk to employee at the store about buying a John Deere S160. Was told even though the floor model was gone to come back in the morning because they had 6 in stock. May 12th-Go back to the store to buy a mower. Different employee tells me they have no idea why someone else told me they had any in stock because they have 0. BUT, if I want to place an order I definitely should because they have some coming on Friday the 14th and it will be ready for me to pick up from the store after 10 am on Saturday the 15th. I buy a mower. May 15th-Talk a friend into breaking away from his weekend family time to go to the store with me in his truck to pick up the mower. Get to the store for yet a different employee to tell me they have no idea why anybody told me they were getting a shipment in because that wasn't true and they have no mowers. Stand at the desk for 45 minutes while the associate "clears everything up" and politely apologizes, gives me $80 back for all of the trouble, and promises me that a shipment is coming in on the 16th and I will have my new mower delivered to my house on either one of the 2 days I told them that I would be able to be home, the 19th or the 21st. May 19th-Receive a phone call from a different employee stating that my mower will be delivered on the 20th, the only day I asked them not to deliver it because I work 13 hour shifts and I didn't want a $3,000 mower sitting in my driveway all day long. Her response, "well so what, you live in a bad neighborhood or something?" May 20th-Receive a phone call while I'm at work at 7:45 in the morning from the Home Depot delivery guy picking up my mower from the Gahanna store asking me if I bought a used/damaged lawnmower because the mower at the store with my name on it had sun damage around the cup holder and had clearly been used. I politely called him back and thanked him for notifying me, but I informed him that I paid full price for a new mower. Mower stayed at the store. May 20th (later in the afternoon)-Receive a call from an employee at the original store stating that the shipment of mowers never came in and it would be in my best interest to just cancel my order and place a new one online. I asked them about the mower from this morning that was at another store with my name on it and they said they had no idea what I was talking about. Also, in order to get my money back I would have to stop by the store because I made the purchase with cash. I did not make the purchase with cash, I used a credit card. They would not return the money back onto my credit card because they were adamant that I used cash. I call the Gahanna store asking them if they had a mower there with my name on it. They said they did, but it was definitely used and had some damage around the cup holder. I go to that store after work and they at least thankfully returned the money back onto my credit card. Unfortunately they said the other store had already given me back $80, so there went the "discount" that the employee at the other store attempted to give me for my troubles. I tried to explain why I was given the $80 back, but I decided to not push my luck after I saw the very confused and puzzled look on the employees face. I asked her if the mower was still in the store because I would be interested in seeing it and hearing what the selling price would be, to which she told me "oh no, I'm sure they put it back on the truck and sent it somewhere else." On my way out the door I decided to walk by the mowers, which were located about 10-15 yards away from the desk I was being helped out. Of course there on the floor was the mower that the delivery guy had called me about from earlier in the morning. He kindly took a picture of the damage and sent it to me, so I know it was the same one. All I could really do at that point was laugh as I walked out the door. Also, my grass is now about 2 feet tall, so if anybody has any cows for sale that would be great.

This is the quality of wood they expect us to sort through

Came here on an early Saturday morning and everyone was so nice and helpful. Will plan on staying a Home Depot customer.

I purchased a brand-new high end Frigidaire Professional range from Appliance Factory approximately two years ago, and it has been used very lightly. Recently, the cooktop burners stopped heating properly. Following basic troubleshooting, I turned the breaker off and then back on. When power was restored, there was a loud electrical pop, and the back of the range began smoking and developed a burned hole in the metal panel near the power cord connection. I contacted Appliance Factory and spoke with the manager. he told me he had "never" heard of this happening and immediately stated there was nothing they could do because I did not purchase the extended warranty. When I explained that the failure was due to the power cord that Appliance Factory installed and asked whether they would consider assisting in good faith since the failure was related to the installation, I was told there was nothing they could do. I wasn't expecting a free replacement- I was simply hoping they would stand behind their installation or offer some level of assistance. Instead, I felt my concerns were dismissed without any effort to investigate the cause of what appears to be a serious electrical failure. I understand that warranties have limits, but customer service also matters. Based on my experience, I would not purchase from Appliance Factory again..

I wasn't convinced and called the folks at Herald's. Instead of trying to sell us anything, they put a repairman, Curtis, on the phone. After what I told him about the refrigerator, he diagnosed it and told me he'd order the part and have it installed in a couple of days. Their service, kindness, and professionalism was impeccable. The refrigerator is humming along for about 7% of what I would have paid for a new refrigerator. If you live in the Mount Vernon, Ohio and surrounding area, and you need a repairman, or a second opinion, come to Herald's. They'll treat you right.
