My wife and I ordered a Traeger grill, we were told that part of the delivery process would be us approving on how it was set up and signing for it once it was completed. The day came for delivery day, I was out in the office so my wife was home alone. Without notice the 400lb grill was dropped off in our driveway unattended and unsigned for. My wife checked the delivery status and her signature was forged. I called the store to request help to correct the error. The first representative I spoke with responded with "well you got your grill... what's the problem?" "I guess you can speak with a manager, but I don't really understand why it's worth his time. I spoke with manager and got a similar response. He hesitantly gave me $30.00 off the original price and said there is nothing they can do to deliver in the correct spot because they contract their delivery through an outside company. My main concerns: 1. is that anyone could have walked off with or loaded our grill without a trace. 2. Our signature was forged. 3. My wife had to move the grill inside the garage by herself even though we thought we would be assist as part of the delivery process. Please error on the side of caution when ordering a delivery from this store. read more

I've heard from so many people why they prefer Lowe's to Home Depot. I witnessed it first hand today! I've been looking around for blinds for my windows. The lady at Lowe's was so helpful and friendly! Went to check out Home Depot for a second opinion. My mom warned me they are never any help, which is why she sticks to Lowe's. She was right! The laziest, rudest staff ever! 3 of them sitting at their desk as we tried maneuver a large rug! No offer to help. I finally asked one of them to get us a cart. Asked about blinds, and the lady seemed so annoyed by that, so we just left! Trust me people!! Stick to Lowe's they are amazing!! read more

I was visiting from out of town and I urgently needed something for my camper. Danie Plank who was a manager saw me looking for what I needed. Her kindness and willingness to help really struck me. Suburban Consumer Home Center This Home Depot is our "go-to" store for bedding plants, paint, tools, light electrical, and other stuff that the suburban consumer needs on a moment's notice. My dog is always welcomed, and staff even provides her treats. Parking is ample and well lit. Consumer and contractor grade products are offered. But: I doubt if I will be using them again for supplies for a serious project. We needed 2,000 feet of 1/4 round molding for a flooring project in our home. Needless to say they did not have that quantity on hand, but offered to order it for us and deliver it to our house within our schedule. Since we had contractors scheduled to show up on Monday morning, a Friday delivery  between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM looked perfect. Waiting around the house all day I finally called the store at 6:55 PM to check the order status. Turns out our order had never been loaded on their carrier's truck! The service rep contacted a number of other stores and said that she could get most of it delivered on Saturday. Saturday mid-day came an a call came in from that store saying that they were having trouble with their delivery company and asked when our "drop dead" date for delivery was. I told them Monday morning, and sure enough a rental truck showed up with our delivery around 10:30 AM (I had stalled my contractor until noon). Yes, I finally did get my order delivered in time to start work. And yes they did offer to wave the delivery fee. However, I still "lost" two full days waiting around the house for the delivery when there were other thing I should have been doing. So I am convinced that I will still use them for the odd drill bit or toilet flush valve, but for larger projects I believe a proper lumber yard will be my source. read more

One of the screws that supports my armrest that holds the joystick broke, I show up and gather the things needed to take care of this issue, before making my purchase I had asked and employee if they would be able to assist me in the repair after I purchased, they said yes and to come back, so I get the front of the store and a gentlemen shows up and starts looking at the issue. He saved me money and took care of both the armrest. Little did I know the guy I spoke to initial was a manager. read more

I bought $7933 worth of carpet and flooring from them. When the old carpet was being removed I heard my sub floor pop. I notified the worker immediately and the store that evening. In the area where I heard the pop it now makes a big crack sound each time it's walked on so daily. The workers were given by me the wood screws and drill since he said he had none. Make a looonnnggg story short three months later problem still exists and home depot has said they will reinstall after I have someone repair the issue. Needless to say I'm pissed and will not EVER buy even a nail from them again. Lowe's will now have my business. read more

I swear that the training program for Lee's Summit Home Depot employees working the product aisles consists of four parts: #1: Ignore and avoid all customers until they stop you in your tracks and plead for assistance. #2. While responding to the customer's question or request, do your utmost to make the customer feel as though you are doing them an enormous favor by assisting them. #3: Provide the least amount of assistance possible, and under no circumstances make an attempt to ensure the customer's needs are met and/or they understand what you tell them. #4. Adopt and maintain an appearance of grumpy and distracted disinterest that lets customers know you would rather just not deal with them and their annoying little visit to Lee's Summit Home Depot. Either this store is a corporate dumping ground for disgruntled and under-performing employees, or they have the lowest morale of any big box home improvement store I've ever visited. I've experienced the same bad attitudes and lack of service during my last three visits to this store over the past month. Mr. Store Manager.....you've got a problem. read more

Bought flooring online by the pallet. Needed to return 5 unopened boxes. Took them to Belton store and they said I had to return them at Lee's Summit (mind you, I drove an hour from my house to Belton). So reload then in my car and drive another 20 minutes. Unload them and go inside. After several minutes and multiple discussions, I was told they didn't carry them and since I bought 3 pallets instead of individual boxes, I couldn't return 5 boxes but I could return a full pallet? I didn't have a full pallet, I had 5 boxes. But wait, you don't carry them anymore but you would refund a full pallet If I brought that ? Mind you, I spent $6,187 on flooring and was trying to return $379 worth of flooring. Sign behind customer service says " fast and easy returns at any store". They would not refund my money. Had receipt and was within 90 day return window. Since we had already moved these boxes several times at home and had now loaded and unloaded them at two Home Depot stores, we were done and my husband told them we were not moving them again. No refund. Was told to try and sell them on market place - really? Your sign says fast and easy returns at any store. We left the boxes. I'm sure one of the associates will take them home and sell them on marketplace. Then I called the 1-800 number. Went thru what had happened, she puts me on hold and comes back with same story- sorry, since you bought by the pallet you have to return by the pallet. WTF? And then SHE proceeds to tell me I could try to sell them on market place. Again, WTF? In the last 10 months, I have spent over $25,000 at Home Depot building a new house and this is the service I get? I have bought online at Lowes items not sold in store and they have refunded me money money in store with no issues. Take down your "fast and easy returns at any store" signs because that is BS. $379 lesson learned - never shop at Home Depot again. Oh, by the way, do you how much it cost to build a 4,000 sq ft house- lots and that money is all going to Lowe's and Menards. Worst experience ever. Goodbye Home Depot and yes, I will make sure my builder, my family and my friends know how horrible Home Depot is and to take their business to Lowe's or Menards or their local lumber yard. read more

I am usually a Lowe's kind-of-a-girl, though this Home Depot made me a believer when we were checking out with a piece of plywood and the cashier said "Where did you get that from?" "Ugh, the lumber aisle?" we replied. She told us to follow her and showed us a cart full of remnant plywood - the same size as the $12 piece we were buying. My wife and I wanted a specific lawnmower, and it wasn't available closer to our house in Olathe. With an expiring coupon, we decided to make the drive to Lees Summit for the mower and found ourselves here on a nice Sunday. The store is laid out like any other Home Depot. The staff were friendly and seemed to know (a) their stuff, and (b) where their stuff was. That's one thing that HD is always good about - having people on hand, and having people who are willing to help. This location seemed no different. Waited for ten minutes and then was told that there were no employees who could use the saw. The employee helping me said "well, it won't be perfect, the saw has too much kick back." I put in an on-line order for this Lees Summit home depot through the web site. The order had two items: One was a little sampler paint that came ONE WEEK later, and it arrived busted open spilling all inside a plastic bag! The other item has YET to arrive and it's been over two weeks, and I can't get anyone on the HD helpline...I've now been on hold for 50 minutes!!! In a separate recent order, I decided to try the "store pickup" since the delivery option was dreadful. It said it would take 2 hours, ordering early in the morning, but it wasn't ready until the next day. THEN, when I went up to get it, NO ONE was at the service area--they had to call someone and that took TEN MINUTES no lie! Then when they finally got my order straightened out, it took another 15 MINUTES to wheel it from the back of the store to the front!! RIDICULOUS!! In their dumb advertisement, they said, "What's more important than saving money? Saving time..." Yeah right LIARS!!! read more

Absolute garbage. Sunday night I went to make a purchase with my checkbook since I have a new card on the way and I needed to make business purchases, and they denied my check three times. They held my cart full of stuff and I was going to come back in the morning to pickup the stuff. less than eight hours from that time. I was there one hour after they opened because I needed to stop by the bank first to make sure my check was good. After verifying there was plenty of money and the check was good I went there to pick my items in the cart that had a few pieces of copy paper on it saying do not move, do not touch, customer pick up my name and the date of pick up which was literally the next morning less than eight hours, and after arriving there they put all my stuff away that night.. disregarding all the info on there and I had no time to get the items because my wife had a appointment as she's 35 weeks in her pregnancy. Complete disrespect after denying my good check and then telling me to come back the next morning to pick up the items that they put back on the shelves which some items were the last ones. Type it in on the app and it will tell you what aisle and what bay to look for it in! We all know it can get busy. The store is under staffed, and you may not always have someone by your side. Went here for something so simple. After bringing something home to find out that it was measured a whopping 10 inches short (by employees) after we gave them written notes on measurements... We returned to customer service. We then found out that "that couldn't have possibly been them that cut the lattice because they don't cut here" mmm wrong. I went to Home Depot ordered a front entry door. I waited close to a month for them to get a hold of me to measure my front door I was told I had to be home for this. I kid you not when the guy showed up he opened the screen door and measured seriously I didn't need to be home for this he never measured the door at all. That was Thursday so on Monday Home Depot called and said we need $13.00 for some trim ok so I paid that then finally on Thursday they called and said we need to schedule your door installation. The only day and time available is Aug. 29, 2017 between 1-2:00. Now I have to take a day off of work to accommodate them and finally after almost 2 months I should have my door installed. I should have went to Lowes. This has been such an inconvenience next time I need a project done I am going to Lowes. read more

I don't like Lowe's. I drive out of my way to go to Home Depot. The reason for the 2 Star experience is entirely because of the man who staffs the Plumbing Aisles on the weekends. In the past few months the three times I've had to go to find a part for my kitchen sink, a part for my shower drain and search for parts for my toilet seat. The first time, was the toilet seat experience. I was told by a helpful Home Depot employee that "I-Wish-I-Remembered-His-Name" in Plumbing would help me and I heard them call him on the radio. As a typical guy in a hardware store, I went up and down the aisles to see if I could find the part myself, expecting said person to show up and ask if they could help me. I saw a Home Depot employee in one of those plumbing aisles helping another customer. I figured when he was done he'd know that I was the person who needed his help and would come talk to me. Ten minutes later, they finished and he disappeared, didn't even ask if I needed help although I'd been staring at him for the last few minutes as I had given up my search. I found another employee to see if they could help, at this point just a second pair of eyes to reassure me I wasn't going crazy in not finding what I was looking for is all I needed. They walked with me to find Plumbing guy who was now talking to another customer and said he would help me when he was done. I don't generally listen in on conversations, but this customer's conversation turned to contracting jobs and sharing stories. Standing there, I'd assume he'd take the initiative to interrupt the stories and say he needed to help the customer standing there. Nope, he carried on. I started researching on my phone and ended up finding out from the manufacturer's website the part I wanted they did not sell as a part, because they cannot warranty it after it's removed from the original seat. Okay, 20 minutes of tapping on my phone and standing there would've been saved if he'd just told me that in the first place. Incident #2. Kitchen sink handle stops closing all the way, I did the research and found the EXACT part I need on Home Depot's website. I'll go to the store and pick it up. With my prepared knowledge I start the up and down search of the aisles. I can't find it, I find another item that has WAY more parts than I need and costs $15 rather than $3. A Home Depot employee finds me and asks if I need help. I tell them I just need to find this specific part (pointing in the cluster of parts in the item I have in my hands) and read off the part # I've written down. They radio "I-can't-believe-after-three-incidents-I-can't-remember-his-name" Plumbing guy and tell me he'll be right there. I walk around to the other aisle and see him having a conversation with someone. This time it's obvious they are past the "let me help you find that" portion of the conversation. I stand for a couple minutes and wait. When it's obvious he is not going to pause their conversation anytime soon I leave to go find the nearest rep at a computer and ask them to look up the part #. "Oh, that part number is only available to purchase online". Great! Wish the first person I talked to had radio'ed someone at a computer terminal to get that info instead of making me wait for Plumbing-I'm-"helping"-another-customer-guy. Incident #3. Shower drain. I go directly to the plumbing aisle and see Plumbing guy there. It looks like he's just finished up with a client and is walking away. I show him the gasket I need and he starts walking like he knows exactly where he is going. I follow him past shower heads and directly to piping. He grabs some PVC pipe and walks back to the other aisle. All the while I'm still following him. he hands the pipe to the customer he was talking to, and then starts talking to another customer who wasn't in either aisle when I got there?!?!?! I go find another employee, ask them to help me find the gasket I need. They say "let me get so-and-so" in plumbing. I demand to speak to anyone else because I'm not dealing with that guy. They go talk to him about what I need and come back and tell me to just use silicone caulk to accomplish what I need to do. From my experience. If you are not a contractor and need help from the plumbing department on the weekends at the Home Depot in Lee's Summit. I would recommend doing your own research online, or finding a different place to look for help. I hope this rep's style of "If I don't help the customer they'll help themselves" doesn't wear off on the other employees. The cashier's in lumber are ALWAYS extremely helpful! read more

These people do not keep records beyond 6 months on major appliances, so if you do not have the date you purchased ( how many remember that?) then they sit there and demonstrate more and more ignorance and disinterest. Computers should be used in customer service operations to preserve records where warranty work is paid for and needed. They could/would not tell me if they even sold me the clothes washer, if it was still under warranty, and by the way, I should have made copies and placed them in a folder. I ordered window for my home delivery was expected to be 3-4 weeks. Based on that I scheduled them to be installed 4 weeks a few days after the 4 weeks. After 4 weeks I called and was told they are still expected to arrive that day. It wasn't until the next day that they called me with a delivery day of another additional week. I wasn't able to complete my installation as planned which ended up costing me. I understand that ordering products adds a level of uncertainty to providing good customer service but I find it ridiculous that they only got a delivery date after they were scheduled to arrive. The same windows were available from a local lumber yard with a guaranteed 3 week delivery and the only reason I didn't order from them was because I had never worked with them before and Home Depot provided me with the 4 week date which still fit my time line. read more

I was in Home Depot today, Jan 9 trying to find a part for my wooden blinds which I had purchased about six months ago. I was first directed to the correct department where I was told they could do nothing for me. They did not have the part and I would have to just purchase a new blind. I was not very happy when I went to customer service to vent. Jayme was working at the time and went out of her way to help. I really appreciate her and the help that she gave me and would like to recognize her as a valuable employee.
