A typical Home Depot. We stopped in to get some paint for the living room. We quickly found the color chip of what we wanted, their selection is large. Once we had that it only took a few minutes to mix the paint. Easy cheesy! In and out in about 10 minutes. AND I got 10% off as a veteran!

We ordered a door online from homedepot.com, That was fulfilled by the Home Depot in Hermitage. When it was delivered, it was the wrong measurements. So, We had our delivery scheduled three times to come and get the door and they failed to do so. We went into the store to talk to the managers to get a solution and they scheduled another pick up and that's all they can do. the people at this store are rude, smug and unwilling to help.

Table that was ruined by a product their employee told me I needed

I remember when you walked in and asked a question and they knew exactly what you needed and if they didn't know, they found someone who did. Now the store is full of lazy younger people with no desire to help. They'd rather stand around talking. I have been in at least 7 times in the last month and when asked where something is I have been told, "I don't know" then looking at me like, do you expect more? Or being told, "I think it's on aisle" and of course it's not. When asked for help loading cement mixer since Im disabled (even if I don't look at it) the young man clearly preferred standing talking to their co-workers. I've had 2 people out of prolly 8 make sure I was taken care of and they were older workers. The last straw was the table I worked so hard on was just destroyed by a product THEIR employee handed me and said I needed when I asked what I thought was an expert's opinion since I didn't know. So after sanding, painting and working for 5 days between laying on heating pads, I sprayed a sealer on my pink table. The one I was handed and told I needed. It has now dried with what looks like urine stain on it. This was so hard for me physically to do and something i wanted to do since i bought it 4 yrs ago and now totally ruined. When I started this message I called to talk to a manager. 18 min later and I'm ending this still on hold. Update: was on hold for a manager for almost 30 min and then was told the manager was dealing with an IT issue and could they give them a message. I left the message and she said, something like, "hopefully" they can call back. I said, NO I am not requesting the possibility of maybe a call back. Either they call me or I walk in. The table isn't heavy. i could just bring it with me to put on display for others to see.

Not one of my favorite places to shop but it is close to home. It is a lot better than the auto fuel center they have.

Special thanks to Will, who cut the wood for me, and Bubba who helped us both out in coming up with solutions to the issue of raising the wheel chair platform over the 2 inch lip where the door closes. It may be a redneck rig job, and it may not look pretty, but it does an awesome job and it is light-weight enough for me to easily handle. I called around to several places that were supposed to help with access issues for the disabled with varying results. It turns out that Lowe's was the most helpful place of all. My big-ass Samsung DLP was dying a slow, painful death…read more The problem was a DMD chip made by Texas Instruments that was notorious for wrecking Mitsubishi and Samsung DLP TV sets. When I bought my TV, it was gigantic, expensive, and was supposed to be a last hurrah before we started having kids. I.E., not something that we would be replacing any time soon if things ever went south. Well, halfway through December, I saw a white dot on the screen and got up to wipe it off. Turns out it was the TV making the dot. Did some research and found out it was the first sign of something bad happening that would eventually wreck my TV. The chip to fix the problem was pretty expensive, but I'm pretty tech savvy, so I thought I would give it a try. But at the same time I was torn, because if I screwed things up, I would be stuck with a very expensive mistake and I could almost purchase a new TV - again a tough sell in this household. While researching some more on the interwebs, I saw that some owners had been able to get Samsung to fix the problem, but the results were inconsistent because of the call center. I gave it a try and to my delight, Samsung offered to send someone over to fix my six-and-a-half year old TV for FREE. Adam came over from Gabe's as soon as the part came over and I helped him move the TV so he could fix it. While he worked, he told me some awesome stuff about home electronics in general, and we both reminisced about the good ol' days of TV's as many moons ago I used to work in a big box electronics store. He was very efficient and polite - I'm not sure I could imagine a better guy for the job. And the best part - I didn't have to spend a dime and I am back in business in the TV world. I would not hesitate to buy another Samsung product or to call Gabe's if I ever have a problem with home electronics or appliances.

I explained residual water in the line and provided a bucket to catch the remaining water in the line. To "fix" our washer that didn't dispense softener, they came the next day and merely replaced the drawer (that simply slides out in the front) and charged $140 for the 60 second "repair" that required no tools or even skill. I would have gladly paid for the part and slid the new drawer in myself to save $140 if they had made the problem clear when they diagnosed it 2 weeks prior.

Recently my washing machine stopped working and I called a repairman recommended to me by an…read moreacquaintance. Unfortunately the repairman informed me that it would cost about the same as buying a new washer to repair my old washer. He gave me the number for DT's Used Appliances and recommended I give them a call if I wanted to save some money. I called DT's Used Appliance and spoke with Kelly. She was very pleasant and seemed helpful. I explained to her that I was an in-home oxygen patient so rarely went out. I asked her about the washers that were available and she offered to snap some photos and send them to me via text. The next day I received several photos of washers that appeared to be in good condition. I selected a Samsung top loader which was priced at $375.00. I asked when the washer could be delivered and was told it would be Monday (I was calling on Thursday) and since I REALLY needed to get some laundry done I asked if I could have a friend bring the $375.00 and pick up the washer that day. My friend went to the location on Old Lebanon Road and met with Kelly. He came to my house with the washer I had selected and hooked the washer up and took my old washer away for me. I started to wash the floor to ceiling pile of dirty clothes that had accumulated over the course of a week and the very first load the washer failed to spin the water out of the clothes. In short, I was sold a washer that didn't work as advertised. I called the next day to report that the washer I had purchased the day before did not work. That is when the whole picture of how this business operates came into focus. I was told that I had purchased the appliance "as-is". I was then told if I wanted DT's Used Appliances to repair the washer I needed to bring it to them since they did not deliver it to my home. I pointed out just how difficult it and expensive it would be for me to take the broken washer back to the purchase location given that I am disabled and on constant oxygen. I also pointed out that in Tennessee there is an implied warranty of merchantability and that selling me a washer that did not work was a breach of that warranty. After some back and forth with Kelly she told me that they might be able to get someone to come look at it the following Monday which was 3 more days I would spend without a washer. I insisted that it be repaired and made to work immediately and I guess I got my point across because I was told a repairman would come later that same day. At approximately 6:30 pm a repairman showed up and looked at the washer. I described the situation to him and he replaced a part that was completely worn out and left. I attempted to do a load of laundry and when it came time to spin the water out on the final cycle it was the same as before. The washer would not spin the water out of the clothes. I ended up wringing the water out by hand. I followed up the next day to let DT's Used Appliances know the repair didn't fix the problem. I was told they would send another repairman out "sometime next week". I gave up and decided to start trying again on Monday. On Monday I called and got the same story that I had purchased the washer "as is" and that the "warranty" DT's Used Appliances claims in their marketing material didn't guarantee any time frame for repairs. I then started reading the reviews on DT's Used Appliances and found that many, many consumers had been subjected to the same sort of situation I was dealing with. When I was unable to pin down a date and time to have a repairman fix the broken machine I informed DT's Used Appliances that I would be having my friend bring back their broken washer and I expected a full refund of the $375.00 case I had paid to them. My friend took the machine back and they refused to refund my money. He left the broken washer in the front of the building. My calls and text to Kelly the next day culminated in me being told not to send any more texts and that I was harassing them and to stop calling. I honored that and am in the process of filing a lawsuit in small claims. I have filed a consumer complaint with the appropriate authorities and referred DT's Used Appliances to the Tennessee Department of Revenue for investigation of likely violating the sales tax laws since they quoted me a higher price if I used a credit card and a lower price for cash which indicates cash sales are probably not reported or being under-reported. If you are considering doing business with these people my personal advice is DO NOT give them a dime. Run, don't walk, away from this place. And a note to Will and Kelly Muncey, I'll see you in court and it will not be a good look for you and your business. You should have refunded my money when you had the chance!
