This is my hometown, Home Depot and lately they have been a complete utter failure. When you have three weeks lead time on a snowstorm and you run out of snow, melt products and shovels. It is truly a disgrace because it is obvious you're not ordering enough, especially being in the middle of the snow season it's not like you're gonna be having to hold onto product because there's other snowstorms that are backing up to this snowstorm. A store of this magnitude should easily be able to get anything and everything. It needs to supply a major weather situation. There's a possibility of running out of ice snow melt but to run out of snow shovels it's just clear mismanagement it's unbelievable. read more

Its been 4 days of reacheduling my delivery because it keeps being "missed" by the driver. Its frustrating. When i call the store they say they arent able to helo because its an online order and when i call online customer service tell me they spoke to the store and ill reachedule the next day. Went to HD to get some shelving materials for a DIY project. The section had lots of choices, different height of rails, hinges and wood boards. Was very easy to pick them all up, no line at elf checkout, conveniently scanned all my items and was on my way. Instead of buying a shelf online, got to make exactly to my measurements for a cheaper cost. After finishing my project I had some extra items left. Went back to return the items with receipt. It was a simple process. Short line at return counter. Got my money back to my credit card. read more

I had an extremely disappointing and concerning experience with The Home Depot's door measurement service. I paid for a professional measurement service with the clear expectation that I would receive the actual measurement results after the technician visit. However, after waiting nearly two weeks and completing the scheduled visit, I was told that Home Depot would NOT provide me with the measurements I paid for--only an installation quote. At no point during the purchase was I informed that the actual measurement data would be withheld after the service. This is not just bad service -- it feels like a scam. I paid specifically for measurements, yet the most basic information was deliberately withheld. It creates the impression that the entire process is designed to force customers into purchasing their installation service. Wasting customers' time, withholding paid-for information, and failing to disclose this policy upfront is completely unacceptable. This experience was misleading, frustrating, and a clear breach of trust. read more

PROS: This is my go-to Home Depot store. They improved the employees on the floor so its easy to get help, they're clean and organized, have truck rentals, prices are good, huge variety, and loads of parking CONS: Its hard to navigate in and out of the parking lot because traffic occurs on the roadways beside the lot OVERALL: The store itself is perfect and I highly recommend this place. Sadly... the reviews for this place.. which I didn't look at before I went this morning, are ALL ON POINT. It's awful. Well place is decently stocked but I simply went there for window insulation kit. Ugh. I go to aisle 10...nada. Go to checkout as that is Only place I see anyone that can help, she tells me aisle 8. Ohhh ok.... but NAH! that aisle has nothing to do with insulation. then there's girl in aisle 8... same question.... I showed her in my cell that it says they have it in STOCK for pick up.... she says "No, that doesn't mean we have it here, means home depot has it and will send it from another location."... What?? I answer "No, I think that means it's here for me to Pick Up" .. (seriously).... the only smart thing she says is You can go to customer service desk. At customer service I find a VERY nice, Knowledgeable lady. I showed her the SKU and she says "oh yeah, we have about a 180 in stock" again, Seriously??.... She proceeds to call a guy in hardware to can find it for me. However, I just wasted a good 30 minutes spinning my wheels, I rushed over there before work. Big store with a large number of associates at the pickup counter. I tried curbside but after 10 min of waiting went inside and saw many associates but no line to pick up. Walked up, showed my order and ID, and was out the door in less than a minute as my order was sitting right there. So much for curbside. What a waste of time, but at least inside the line wasn't long for pickup. Line was long for returns though again, only one person working that line and four others not doing anything. read more

I purchased an LG dishwasher from Home Depot and I bought the installation with it. I understand that Home Depot uses a contractor to do their deliveries and installations, so when they arrived to install the dishwasher today they told me they could not install it because of an incompatibility of my dishwasher water supply. The installer told me I needed to call a plumber. This did not make sense to me as the dishwasher was put in 20 years ago with new plumbing, including a quarter supply valve. They told me that I can make another appointment after this work is done to replace my supply valve. After the installers left, I looked at my supply valve and I tried to understand what they were talking about and I couldn't make sense of it. I realized that the quarter valve that was present must have somehow confused them, as I was able to disconnect the water seed line from it to my old dishwasher myself. Plus, I had a flexible copper line present which also must have confused the installers. I went ahead and removed my dishwasher and installed the new flexible supply line that I bought as a requirement from home depot. Everything worked perfectly and there was no reason for the installers not to be able to install my dishwasher. Although I could have done this myself from the very beginning but I knew it would take me much more time to do it myself than one who does it all day long, every day. These Home depot contractors are unknowledgeable or just very lazy. I called Home Depot and they refunded me the installation fee of $160. I would never recommend having Home Depot install anything unless you know firsthand what it will take for them to install your product. I did not do this at first although I did install my original dishwasher over 20 years ago. read more

If I could give them one star, I would unfortunately this Home Depot has decided to not start the most basic of items that a homeowner or a DIY good would need. Also, a lot of their workers throw caution and courtesy to the wind so it's very tough to get help sometimes on the most basic of things.. keep in mind all of these things will contribute to the death of this Home Depot one day and they will be replaced by Amazon. read more

Worst Customer Service Ever!!!! I was looking for a 1-Way Screw Remover and I couldn't find it my first visit there. So the second time I went, I tried asking employees working there. So I waited, and waited.... and waited. Then I asked again. They said someone will come shortly. Then I waited and waited. STILL NO ONE!!!! I asked one last time before I was just going to leave. And guess what? NO ONE CAME!!! So I found out there was a Home Depot App and that helped me than the employees working there. Can you believe that? If you know what you're going for and don't need any help from the staff who's paid job it is to help, then go ahead. But if you need any assistance whatsoever, expect hour long waits to speak to a person before another hour long wait to speak to a manager that can actually barely help. Expect a promised call back in 10-15 minutes and never get a call back. Expect any deals or promotions not to follow through, and definitely don't expect delivery or assembly after you pay for it because a truck driver tells you "they don't do assembly" even though the receipt for order completion that they make you sign says they do and made you pay for it. Basically, locations like these is what should've made Home Depot go out of service a long time ago, but somehow they're wasting their money on useless staff and services. I've only been here twice and both times I was in and out pretty quickly. The first time hubbs and I came to find a mounting bracket and were assisted by a knowledgeable employee that really tried his best to help us out. On today's visit, I brought some defective spray bottles along with us to our dinner date since I knew the Home Depot was in the same mall. We waited for a little while on the line for returns; there are two of them. There are two other lines behind the same counter that are for online merchandise pick-up but when one of the cashiers were freed up and saw we were waiting, she had us step over to expedite our refund. After a total of five minutes, we were out of there with the refund placed back in my card. read more

This is more about the online service. Had to purchase specialty concrete floor paint products to be delivered at home, since not allowed to be shipped to regional stores. It arrived heavily leaking through the box (not packaged adequately). The carrier left the leaking boxes on my front concrete porch, and it leaked all out permanently defacing my front steps. Trying to contact someone at Home Depot...a manager is not available to speak and resolve. read more

This place is close to my apartment and I really just went to make a lot of copies of my new apartment keys. The employee who manned the key station did his job efficiently and as quickly as he can. However, didn't smile once at me though I was trying to be polite. I almost felt like I was being a pain because I had so many copies that needed to be made. Though the employee who rung me up was super polite and nice. He teased me about all the keys and we had a little laugh about it. At least he knew how to smile! read more

I'm done with the hackensack Home depot! Ever since they opened, I've tried to be a loyal customer, but the service has become appallingly poor. Recently stopped by to purchase a storm door and wasted 50 minutes of my time trying to get some assistance, including four trips to the "service" desk. I was repeatedly told that an associate or the manager would meet me there immediately. Never happened. Having spent over 40 years in retail, I understand the problems that inherently go with this sector. The management of this location appears to be in way over their heads. read more

Last week went to check if they have the google home starter kit which includes the light and the google home mini and i got the ticket they told me they will be back with me i waited for them by the lights, where i got the ticket...... Then person who had taken my ticket told me i had to go to the cash register and they will do it for me not only did they make me wait the google mini starter kit. The girl at the register told me that i needed a ticket and made me wait another 10 mins to tell me that oh we dont have it in stock! I bought a Panasonic microwave for $229 on August 27, 2022. I opened it today September 6, 2022 after my trip to Spain. I found out that it is GE microwave. Well taped when I purchased it. I went to Home Depot to return it. After viewing the tape they said I was well tape on the box. I can do anything just to take the GE which is lesser value. People are replacing them and return them. During this time 3 different staff apparently called someone. We walked out empty handed. It's quicker to drive to another store and make your purchase. My father, a former Home Depot employee, always told me to not shop at Home Depot. As someone who worked in lumber/home supply retail for 25 years, he knew his customer service and he knew that Home Depot had zero standard for customer service. Boy was he right. I've been in this Home Depot probably 10 times in the past week (we just moved), and I've had ONE positive experience there, and that's thanks to a new employee in-training in the paint department. This guy knew his stuff; I wish I'd have taken his name, because management needs to know he's a good, helpful, kind employee. Everyone else? Meh. Customer service here will cost you about an hour of your time, and the management here is a waste of flesh. The store manager came up to customer service while there were four of us standing in line and one guy available to help, and the manager did NOTHING. He didn't help, he didn't call anyone, he did nothing. I think, in the future, I'll try and go elsewhere. Lowe's is farther, but I don't know if the poor experience at this Home Depot is worth the stress. My advice? If you don't know exactly what you need and where it is, then don't go to Home Depot. You'll wander the aisles for hours trying to find what you're looking for. The employees here don't work, they wander and ignore the customers. Home Depot, you lose. read more
