Wow what a horrible experience I had here. I bought a Chicago mitre saw and when I opened the box I was shocked. The outside of the box looked ok but when it was opened it had been obvious it was opened already with missing parts and nothing packed properly. It's understandable that items get returned, but it should be repacked properly. I went to Loews I received a better saw with blades right out of the factory for only $20 more. Cheap tools at cheap prices. Nothing more, nothing less. For a DIYer, this place is heaven on earth. Tools and random items for any purpose can be found here. Socket wrenches, torque wrenches and more for working on your car or cordless drills and saws for working on jobs around the house, you'll find it here. Are these tools of the best quality? Of course not. But at a fraction of the cost of some of the big name brands, you can use these tools and break them a few times and still come out ahead. If I were a professional, obviously I'd look somewhere else. But for a DIYer, you can't beat Harbor Freight. The tools here look like they're made by different brands, but make no mistake, they're all Harbor Freight brand. A last tip: You'll have better luck with the hand tools here, it's the power tools that can be hit and miss. Be sure to keep your receipt in case something doesn't work and you can easily exchange for a new one. Overall, I like this location. Cheap tools, lots of random stuff. So Harbor Freight has tons of cheap tools. Some of em are really good and they'll last awhile. Others will break after one or two uses so it's kinda a hit and miss. I generally need tools for heavy duty things and I've learned to limit shopping here for smaller jobs. Not bad if you're just looking for tools for a quick fix. read more

This place has basically every tool you can imagine under the sun, and lots of tools you never even knew existed...and when you visit, you find you need them all. Problem is, 95% of the tools are generic Chinese-made crap. Which presents a conundrum. They are VERY affordable, and yes they will usually do what they are supposed to do...for a while. But these tools are not the kind of tools you invest in for a lifetime and hand down to your kids. They will operate in a clunky manner and they will wear out. I generally think life is too short to use crappy tools. But I understand sometimes you just need a speciality tool for a one-time task or something you will only do occasionally. You can't beat Harbor Freight if you are seriously mechanically minded. Either an amateur or professional. Who cares if they want your phone number or are under staffed or are sometimes rude. You can't find some of their specialized and regular tools anywhere for the low prices they charge. I am extremely rough on power tools. The Harbor Freight tools stand up surprisingly well read more

Horrible customer service by both managers. Today March 9, 2018 Harbor Freight sent me an email for a sale price on their 8750 electric generator at $499 . The sale is good for March 9, 10, & 11. Of course it was another one of their emails where this store was out of stock, so I requested a rain check. The first manager cited they don't provide rain checks, and further would not be receiving any shipments of this generator thru the advertised sale. I questioned the first manager why an email like this is sent out when they never expect to have it in stock. Basically she in a shrude way said that just the way it is. Then the other manager jumps in with his snide remarks that I should have purchased the generator two weeks ago. Terrible attitudes by both what seems to be uneducated managers. Ok so today I walked in to this store and I seen a item I wanted to Purchase I take the item to the register and the girl rings me up and tells me item was 35.00 more then it was on the price tag on the shelf so I tell her she gets on her walkie talkie and tells her worker about the issue as I'm walking back I'm watching the guy take the price tag off and puts it in his pocket as he starts to tell me I'm wrong about the price maybe I was maybe sale over but please don't tell me I don't know what I seen well now harbor freight we'll be losing me as a customer I will never enter another store for no reason read more

I totally agree with Frank F, the tools aren't really top of the line... but I dunno about all the tools being complete crap or in his words... Chinese-made crap. I still have wrenches and sockets from them that I paid literally nothing for. The same set of sockets and wrenches would have cost me over $180. I paid $50. I understand... no one wants to brag about having "Pittsburgh" tools... but I'll tell you what, if I'm not mistaken, they come with a lifetime warranty. So to the people that don't want #2 or #3 tools, keep your Craftsman and your Snap-on... I'm not a pit-crew mechanic or anything so I'll settle for these tools. To be honest, If you were to place a Snap-on or Craftsman sticker on some of the tools and tool boxes here, you'd be surprised that it may actually pass for it. But other than that... This place isn't so bad. Make sure you get added to their mailing list. They send you coupons for 25% off an item. Also, check in the mail (Value Pack or whatever it's called) for the 25% off coupons too. read more

The value of the merchandise for the money is high at this store! And, I used a coupon for a head lamp that leaves your hands free if you need to work on your car at night and it works very well. The store has a wide selection, but it is not so huge that you almost need a compass to find your way around. I was able to find the things that I needed very quickly, each time I stopped in. The sales associates were attentive, helpful, efficient, knowledgeable and personable. The same was true of the night manager. Employees here are available, but don't invade you as you walk in. They maintain a balanced level of friendliness as they assist. read more

I've been very happy with the purchases I've made from this place for years. I bought a generator and some power and hand tools, and everything has worked fine so far. Not the finest quality tools, but amazing prices, friendly staff and bargains galore. Plus, they're open Sunday, a bonus in Bergen County. Always coupons for cheap and free stuff.
