Ordered new doors. Got storm door and door for the front and a storm door for the back. The actual process of ordering in store was not so good. The service from the sales person could of been better. From getting someone in for measurements to the items coming in were not communicated well at all. Measurements were suppose to be done with 72 hours, this did not happen so I had to call the store twice only to find out the order was placed incorrectly. Had I not called I'd probably still be waiting. When it came time for installation the wrong back storm door was ordered! What is saving this review is the installation crew, Conlee and Dylan. They went over and beyond. They were able to correct the wrong door and get a new one here within minutes. They were professional. Did a great job with the installation. Totally respected the property. They cleaned up during and after the installation Explained everything as they were doing it. Just great service there. The actual store service people were disappointing. The actual doors themself were priced reasonable, and they provided nice discounts. read more

I had to return a defective can of air (computer cleaning air) to the store. It arrived as a web order without the cap and nozzle. They didn't have the exact item in stock, but my super helpful sales associate said they have a different brand in stock and she uses it to clean the store's computer keyboards. She took me to the shelf, only to find the product out of stock. Then she checked the inventory and found there should have been stock. She grabbed a latter and instantly provided me with replacement product. Gold star for this employee! read more

So early on and Covid I tried to do the curbside pick up once, but I think that the system wasn't all worked out yet. So I ended up going inside the store and waiting for the product to turn up. Today I did a curbside pick up again to see how it would go and it worked like a charm. So they've clearly worked out all the glitches in the system. This Home Depot is closest to me so I'm actually here fairly often, and I usually do go inside. I will say during Covid they've had very good protocols in place and I haven't felt that it was overly crowded or that there were any unmasked people walking around, both of which I appreciate. North Buffalo Home Depot is amazing in much nicer than the Amherst location that I'm always going to. The staff go above and beyond, and they have yet to fail me. When they know me on a first name basis,that's just what it's about. That quickly made me realize that these guys remember who they are talking to and that they pay attention to their customers. My goal was to physically review a couple of ranges I was interested and to purchase. What I found was a small selection compared to what is available online and very few electric options. I didn't find any induction options. Gas had quite a bit more. I understand that stores will have what the market is most interested in and this shortage, while disappointing (and requires that I visit other appliance stores) only costs one star in my review. My review is based primarily on service. I started life in the service industry and as a manager for various companies, service has been one of the top three priorities in every company I've helped run or worked for. Home Depot lacks in service. I witnessed multiple employees talking to each other and ignoring my wife and me as well as other customers. My wife reported this being the normal experience based on past purchases in store (I usually order large projects online and just have them delivered). When we exited the store I again noticed the employees who would normally tell the customer to have a great day or check receipts at the self check out just standing there and talking to each other and not engaged with any customers leaving. This has not been my experience at Home Depot's in other states across the country and really caught me off guard. Usually I can count on employees to be helpful, passionate, and informed. My experience working for and running facilities for various companies is that this employee disengagement from the customers is a sign of decline and I strongly suspect the store is underperforming. If you're looking for service or electric/induction ranges, I'd highly recommend looking elsewhere. The expertise and willingness to help I've found at other Home Depot's in other states don't seem to exist here. The only value the store offers is to walk in and walk out purchasing commodity goods. More complex purchases should probably be sourced elsewhere and then you can decide where you want to purchase after you know what you want. This was a sad and disappointing experience. read more

I decided to try curbside pickup for the items I purchased online. here's why - I received a text stating my order was ready for pickup and there was a link included for curbside pickup so although I was going to pick it up at the counter inside, I thought, I'll give curbside a try... was I making a huge mistake? Would this add a significant about of time to my project? In the name of customer service research I decided to wait so I could give Yelp a little attention this morning. I parked and sent the notification in at 10:55 am on a Friday. I've parked in a clearly marked spot specifically for curbside pickup. I'm counting the minutes till see the orange aproned hero carrying my two items to my car.... 9 minutes and no one in sight... just as I'm starting to think this was a mistake, I hear someone call my name...10 minutes and my items are in the car and I'm driving away. It took only 10 minutes! Hooray! And to top out off, the associate was very pleasant as he loaded my purchases! read more

we contracted Home Depot for a really big window project that included the sunroom, the front living room window and the kitchen window. Not only did they take months to complete the job, but no one was on the same page. from the project manager to the actual workers that came to do the job, they were all extremely unprofessional, and did a horrible job. when I came with concerns they shut them all down, the customer service was awful. first the window order was incorrect, leaving me to wait weeks before the window I ordered came in. Then once it did, The window did not match up with the frame. The sealing used for the windows did not match the window color and can be seen and looks extremely tacky. They also damaged my property (the wood in the sun room) they tried to hide it and not mention it, if I had not noticed they wouldn't have addressed it. The manager Jorge also disregarded concerns and wouldn't even answer messages after voicing concerns once the job was finished. He tried to act like they were right, when you can physically see the job was poorly done. I would never recommend them for any big job again. This job was about 14,000 and they acted like it was a 200$ job. I am appauled by the customer service and the whole thing was a giant headache. save yourself the money and time. read more

Everyone in WNY has likely been to a Home Depot at some point in their lives. It's your standard hardware store on steroids, with everyone you could ever want for home improvement/beautification/ remodeling. They've got everything from tools, paint, appliances, lawn and garden items, air conditioners/heaters/fans, lumber, light fixtures, electrical items, rugs, plumbing essentials, kitchen remodeling, doors, windows, grills and smokers, furniture, faucets, window treatments, you name it! My husband is an electrician and we tend to come here whenever he needs a tool or item for work. He typically buys Milwaukee tools, which are awesome and have a lifetime warranty. Yesterday, we came in for a mixed bag of things. We needed a new AC unit, he needed a rotary tool, we wanted a new broom, and he wanted to pick up a Milwaukee work fan. We also checked out the garden center looking for vessels for our flowers. Overall it's a reliable store with friendly employees, that will likely satisfy your home needs. read more

One star for the way they are directing store traffic in this day. I went in to find a chainsaw part which they didn't have in stock. After 5 minutes I walked back out the way I came in cause my truck was parked right there. Immediately the attendant sitting in a chair said I had to go out the exit at the other end of the store even though I hadn't bought anything. I told him I couldn't find what I wanted and my truck is right out here in front of this entrance, he told me again to go out the other way and I said out loud look I have two fractured feet I'm not walking all the way around the other side. He didn't seem to care and another employee told me I could go out and the guy gave me a dirty look. Thankfully somebody there had some common sense to allow me to go out the way I came to save 200 steps!!! I wish there was a zero because even one star is too good for that time shopping read more

Messy lately not sure what changed! No one helps they just stand around and run when you have questions. Bathrooms are gross and the items are grossly overpriced. It looks as if they mark up their items when they hit the flier and then drop the price to make it appear that you are saving when in fact you are paying more then you did last year. read more

Don't rely on their keymasters, oftentimes they will be unable to make a key for you. Go to a locksmith instead if you can. I also bought a fold up banquet table here and the handle snapped off within a few days of using. Total fail. Otherwise, it's a decent Home Depot. I came here to get a few buckets of paint and some hardwood floor restoration liquid. No complaints there. I like the machine they have that lets you visualize how your room is going to room with the different swatches of paint. Very cool! This Home Depot has been a mixed bag for me. It took three clerks and eons for them to check in the Penske truck I dropped off there (in fairness, I think I came in at shift change) and I've waited geological ages at the key stand to find that they don't have my template (although they did recommend a place that did, which was cool). On the other hand, the employees have been friendly and knowledgeable about products, they'll patiently custom-cut wood to your specs (free for two and $.50 after that, although they'll sometimes forget/waive that) and, like all Home Depots, they'll accept receipted returns even if you've already opened the stuff. If it's a selling point for a chain hardware store (is it?), they're dog-friendly. read more

I've always been a fan of Home Depot, more so than Lowe's in the sense of professionally trained employees. The people who work in the flooring department are great. I went in looking for some laminate and instead ended up getting some tile and got a great deal on it. It turned out way better than the laminate would have. The only negative draw back with this store is selection, I seem to have a hard time finding a good selection on certain items. I was looking for the older style plumbing parts for the inside of a toilet for my mom's bathroom and scoured the store for an hour and couldn't find it. Super unhappy with Home Depot. I bought a standup freezer. It came dented. The 2nd one was also dented but it wasn't too bad & was going in the basement after all. I filled it up with a very expensive grass fed cow. Then find that the seal is not good and the whole freezer is a block of ice. In order to get a new one, I needed to cut the cord & send them a picture & then they would decide if they were going to send me a replacement or give me my $ back. I couldn't cut the cord with it full of meat!! I told them it would take a while to empty. They said they would wait until it was empty & I could cut it "at my convenience". When I finally got it empty, they said it was "out of warranty" and they have "policies". Such BS! Now sitting in my driveway because the garbage men won't take it. No email address on their website to get help. Talking to their people on the phone is a waste of time. Lowe's is my go-to-store now. read more

Home Depot is kind of the Target of home Improvement stores. The bulk of their products are middle of the road, not bad quality but you won't find too many unique items, this is especially true in lighting and lumber. In my experience over the last two years, on a variety of home projects, I've found the tool department, paint and rental departments to be better than the garden center and the windows & floors department - these two just never seem to have enough employees working. Self checkout is a good feature. Overall, employees are friendly and knowledgable. The best time to go if you need detailed advice seems to be weekdays between 9 and noon. Any other time and I feel like the struggle to find an available staffer is just too much of a time suck. read more

This particular location is hit or miss when it comes down to customer service. I recently stopped in looking for a long cable cord, nails and covers to strategically place my cord around the wall so that it could be out of site. I inquired with a woman behind the customer service counter about where I could find a cable cord. She didn't know what that was but she guided me in the right direction towards electrical supplies. Once in that area I asked a gentleman in passing about what I was trying to do with my cable cord. He too was confused but helpfully found another worker who knew exactly what I was talking about. He showed me to the right area and hooked me up with all of the supplies needed. He was informative and nice. Home Depot has so many different options, black, white, gray, thin, thick, expensive, cheap, temporary permanent, you name it, just ask! Chances are there will be someone within the store who can help. Turns out I purchased a cable cord that was not long enough so I came back today to switch it out for another. I was also have extreme difficult separating the hoax cable from the rectangular plate on my wall. I couldn't separate the two so I had to bring my wall to them! Well, not my wall, but the plate with the cord attached. As I waited on the customer service line I watched two women in front of me ask for help. They were two elderly women and the lady behind the customer service desk could not have been more rude to these ladies. I was embarrassed and couldn't believe her attitude. It was uncalled for and I wished I could have assisted these innocent ladies just asking for some help. A kind woman came up to us and asked if we needed help. She took our plate and cord, went into the back and worked her magic to fix the problem! She was SO kind and friendly and eager to help. Needed a new grass trimmer this weekend. I've avoided this Home Depot for the last 5 years. It's less then 1/2 mile away from home, but I did not feel appreciated shopping there. BOY DID THAT CHANGE. Needed some mulch for my garden and thought I would price check the trimmers so I could buy it at a competitors store later in the week. Fantastic associate, Nick, saw us in his department and 10 minutes later we were buying a new trimmer from him. Great product knowledge, just enough attention to his customer without being pushy and a quick lesson on how to wind the trimmer wire and this store won a customer back. This is your typical big box hardware store. They carry everything. They're also well versed in their products. I recently visited to buy a snow blower and a clerk was able to highlight the differences between models making clear which ones mattered while others were just to try and drive up the prices. They dropped it off the next day and gave me a quick crash course on it's use. I find myself visiting weekly for one thing or another. As a new home owner I can tell you being two minutes from Home Depot is a life saver! read more

This is my Home Depot; I shop here often and purchase a myriad of home related products here -- not just things to remodel or renovate. There are 2 types of home owners; the Home Depot fan and the Lowes fan. In Lowes, you have to spend 90% of your shopping time looking for a person to ask a question to and when you get that person they never have a solid answer. At the Depot -- you have to go out of your way to be left alone. I think that's a benefit to this HD. Always someone to tell you where something is and how to use it. read more

I ordered30 cases of plank flooring, the delivery guy pulls it up my driveway and hands me a receipt. He said he couldn't move it inside for safety reasons but waited around for me to offer him cash to move it inside. Why the hell did I pay $75.00 delivery fee for ? Estes delivered, they sucked. The guy left a palette load in my driveway, waited around for me to offer him cash. Then I told him to go away, no thank you for everything. He just laughed. I had a terrible experience at the Buffalo store this weekend. I walked in to return something and in line was a man and his gigantic German Shepard. The dog immediately started barking and it was very intimidating. I believe it would have taken my arm off had it not been on a leash. When I questioned the staff about animals in the store they said animals aren't allowed. They also would ask the man to take his dog out of the store. read more

I thought big corporations were supposed to standardize their product. A Big Mac should taste like a Big Mac at every McDonalds you go to. But wait, why are you at McDonalds? That food will kill you. I understand it's a road trip so I'll let you off this one time. Anyway, this Home Depot is actually different. For one it's crawling with people in orange aprons. At most other HDs you have to stalk one as she helps a guy cut his one 2X4 into 16 pieces (for a fee of course). Ugh. Also all these people are really efficient and helpful. Even the guy who was obviously new and had no idea where wood glue was managed to get me to my desired product without hassle. Even the returns desk is easy (this is a STARK contrast to the norm). Still it's big box, and comes with all the inherent issues but a much improved version of what I've come to expect. read more

I had my Kitchen fully torn out and rebuilt by home depot in 2008 spending 15K to do so. The problem is that they had a contractor (not a licensed plumber) install the plumbing. They however did not connect the drain. This over a year caused so much damage to my home without me knowing there was even a problem. They are giving me the run around about taking responsibility for the damage done. I have been a costumer of theirs for years and will obviously not be spending another dime there. read more

Home Depot and Crew 2 (installers) were supposed to be at the house at 10:00AM - 12:00PM today to correct an poorly completed installation. As of 1:00PM, they still not there and no call. This visit is to correct a problem from the last installation. The last installer was more concerned with leaving than doing a good job. Home Depot messed up the order, messed up the delivery and when finally delivered, the counter was chipped and the faucet was broke. How can you run a business like this? Home Depot and Crew2 have been very disappointing throughout this entire process. I would not recommend Home Depot for anything other than plants. Everyone has been incredibly friendly and helpful. I even called to check some stuff on the phone, which I always dread, but the man in the Washers & Dryers department I spoke to was incredibly helpful, patient, and cordial. That said, I would generally NOT make one of those things plants--especially vegetable plants. Had to wait almost an hour at the tool rental section to rent a pick up truck. There were only 2 people in front of me in line but only one person behind the counter. There's a lot of paperwork to fill out before they let you leave with a rental so there really should have been more than one person back there and the gentleman working did call for help but none came despite the fact I could see employees milling about that large desk. The man at the counter was knowledgeable and helpful and seemed to have an answer to all the questions thrown at him. The other problem I had was looking for an item I had the sku for and being sent from lumber to garden and back again trying to find it. No one seemed sure where it woild be and no one took the sku to a computer to see where it was. After giving up on it I stumbled upon it by that time I was already pretty annoyed with the store for being sent from ine end tk the other multiple times. I came in with my research done and the sku of the products I wanted and still was there for almost 2 hours to buy 5 things and rent a truck.
