My mom and I stumbled upon Daddy's Plants while driving down Niagara Street and spotted a bunch of plants in the windows! We immediately turned around, parked, and marveled in all the plants inside Daddy's Plants! There are tropical plants, desert plants, and just regular houseplants that I wish I was able to purchase because the price point looked right! Unfortunately, I was in town for a short period of time and unable to take any plants on the flight out of Buffalo, sigh! I loved the indoor greenhouse and all of the variety at Daddy's Plants. I don't know why it took me so long to stop here and now I'm really regretting not doing so earlier. This store is absolutely beautiful. I got so many ideas just from walking in the front door. Every single plant here is at 100% as far as health and aesthetics go and you will not find a single brown leaf. The selection here is phenomenal and I LOVE that it doesn't reflect what Home Depot and Lowe's are carrying. I got a pepperomia happy bean and a ruby necklace for $14.00 and $25.00 respectively. It seems like they sell really common plants for a little bit more and the more high priced plants for a little bit less than most places and it results in reasonable pricing across the board. They had a *gigantic* monstera for $55 and that's the last thing I need but the price was so good that I was going to purchase it right up until the last minute and saw all of the awesome pots they carry. The guys running the show are friendly but not overbearing. It's clear that they love what they do and are committed to selling healthy, hard to find plants at great prices. I plants, & I saw this business on twitter so I had to check out the local spot. The owner was very kind & answered all the questions I had. I purchased a spider plant & a succulent. The space is very beautiful, it's a new business so he's still getting inventory in but the displays and the varieties are pretty awesome. They share a space with wild root, and across the hall is a cat cafe which is still in the works for a opening date & a yoga shop upstairs, & a kombucha cafe not to far as well. I can't lie, the reason it took me so long to come here was my shyness finding it. I had thought I had driven by it several times, but it's tucked away with construction and if you go to the wrong business once by accident, it scars you for life! Okay with that said, parking is weird. But you're probably fine where you end up. There is no flashing lights and signs you're there. Tiny sign. Trust the GPS. You're there. Go inside and let the plants immediately fill you with happiness. The *Daddys* are superb. Gracious, friendly, helpful. They let you take your time looking, don't totally jump on you to help but also don't disappear. It's a very "hey I'll be over here just in case you need me" vibe and I appreciate that. You won't find dozens of the same plant in this shop, and I like that. It's a small shop. Prices can be bit higher than a big box, because well, you aren't in a big box. It is very obvious these plants aren't the same selection as big box and that's important when I go into a local shop, I want something different. The vibe in Daddy's makes me want to look for a comfy chair in a corner and pretend I'm going to catch up on a book I keep meaning to finish, but really just admire all the beautiful foliage. I have found plants I believe are fair price and pottery to my taste and affordability. There is a selection of all styles and budgets. This is the most welcoming houseplant shop in the city of Buffalo. It absolutely gives off a very high end, west coast vibe, but you have to trust giving them one visit to fall for them. Daddy's plants opened up in the recent months and I finally got a chance to stop in when I was in the area. The actual shop itself is absolutely adorable, bright, fresh, and clean. They have a lovely selection of plants. They all seemed in really good health and the people working were all very friendly and helpful. I didn't actually buy anything because the prices are a bit steep compared to other places I frequent. I'm a bit frugal when it comes to my plants so I'm always looking for a good deal, and this is not the place to find one. However if you're looking for a specific, really nice decorative, statement piece in your home this would be the place to go. They have beautiful mature plants and are more than willing to help you find the perfect plant for your space. They can even tell you which ones are pet friendly. read more

If you love being surrounded by a plant paradise, this my friends is for you. Currently with covid there is a 10 person limit in the store but it is truly worth the wait. There are a ton of plants from ponytail palms to fiddle leaf figs and beyond. There truly is a plant baby for everyone. Pricing wise these little plant babies were pretty adorable! I picked up an African mask plant for $16. Compared to other local plant shops that isn't a nursery, this is a great deal. Best part: there was the sweetest pup in the shop when we came to visit. They have a wonderful collection of plants ranging from small cacti to towering tropical plants. They are well stocked and have a large variety. All of their plants looked strong and healthy, they are clearly well-loved and ready to go to a forever home. They also have a selection of prints and pots from local artists to accompany your new plant babies. Living in the lower level of a typical Buffalo double, I didn't think that the plant dad lifestyle was in the cards for me. I went in here for the first time with a friend who has several grow lights, an entire nook dedicated to horticulture, and would definitely be considered a regular. I mentioned my specific set of circumstances to a staff member and he immediately listed off three plants that would thrive in low light, with a parent that could be a little inconsistent with watering. There was no pressure to buy, but I did wind up buying a few plants and I'm happy to say they're thriving with me months later. The expertise the staff have is really the major selling point for me. I feel like I could ask them anything with no judgement and they open the door to the plant realm in a way that addressed my hesitance and went above and beyond. I'll definitely be back when I need to refresh my bookshelves or mantle. Great little plant shop on Niagara St, located in the same building as Resurgence Brewery. Owners are very helpful in guiding you through their selection and advising you on the specific needs of each type of plant. They clearly know their stuff, and are always looking to bring new, fresh stock into the shop to give you more options - they have an email newsletter you can sign up for to get updates about new stock, especially for some of the bigger houseplants that sell out more quickly. Definitely has a very stylish, instagrammable vibe and all of the plants are well taken care of and desirable for home decor. My only gripe is it is EXPENSIVE. I recently went in with a $75 gift card that I was given for my birthday, thinking I might not use the whole thing up in one trip. However, two small to mid sized houseplants and plain terra cotta pots to put them in totaled about $84. I would say that unless you have a really green thumb and are confident in your horticultural abilities, there are less pricey places around to purchase similarly attractive and exotic houseplants. The place is great and the selection provides some truly beautiful options, but for a novice hobbyist like myself it's a little too expensive for a casual perusal. read more

Do you need some beauty in your life? How about a gorgeous plant worthy of the sunniest, most glorious window in your home? Head on up Niagara Street right by the old Resurgence Brewing tasting room. Plenty of on street parking on both sides, but definitely easier to load your car with all of your newly purchased plant friends if you park on the southbound side right out front of the store. It is a shared entrance hallway, but head inside and take a left into the doorway of this plant paradise. Don't forget your mask and there is a large hand sanitizer right by the door to freshen up on your way in. We were greeted by the absolutely charming owner who told us about his Daddy's plant (the extra large tree like plant in the middle of the store). He also made sure to show us some gorgeous plants he was about to bring out so we had the opportunity to bask in their glory and take them home if we wanted to buy one. (Spoiler: I did). The decor was lovely, the plants were perfection, and the conversation was some of the best Buffalo, the City of Good Neighbors, has to offer. I bought 3 plants and a gold hanging basket, plus a gold plant charm (yes that is a thing!) Highly recommend checking out Daddy's Plants for all of your indoor plant needs.
