This was my first time visiting this location. It's very organized and offers fast self-service. The workers are attentive. Several employees approached us to ask if we needed any help. They have a good variety of items and everything is well-stocked. The prices are decent, and we found what we needed. I was hoping to see more cute ornaments and holiday decorations. I scanned the app in the store for assistance it said somebody was on their way and then all of a sudden the session was closed and said somebody was there . 5 minutes later somebody showed up but he wasn't trained on cutting the wire . The workers that work do a good job but they're few and far between . I came in to return a blind because the lever didn't match the ones I already had at home. Pretty straightforward. But the woman at the return counter made the whole thing awkward; no greeting, no "thanks," just a weird attitude and she made a comment about me returning a pre-cut blind. Her coworker came to her side and they started talking about my return. I ordered these online the day before which came the way it was. It was uncomfortable and super unprofessional. Then I headed to the blinds section to find the right size, but no one was there. I had to go to the appliance section just to ask for help, and someone had to call over the blinds staff. When someone finally showed up, she was at least polite at first and tried to help, which I appreciated. I explained I needed the same type of lever so it would match my other blinds. She said she couldn't tell without opening boxes (which she wasn't allowed to do), and casually mentioned that sometimes people steal the levers. That already made me feel uneasy. She mentioned "follow me, maybe we can find a box that is opened to check if the leaver is the same size." eventually found a opened box that she can check if the lever size was the same. She thought the leaver was the same, but I noticed it looked smaller -- maybe a couple centimeters off. I asked if she was sure it would fit. She started getting passive aggressive and insisted me to get this one and guaranteed that I'll fit. IT DIDN'T FIT!! It was totally the wrong size, and now I'm stuck hiring someone to fix the whole situation. The whole experience felt rushed, careless, and lacking basic customer service. I been to this location a few times. It can be hit or a miss and that's mostly because of the customer service. Depending the section, it is nearly impossible to find someone to help. The location is huge and has a lot of variety of things such as a huge cleaning supply section and indoor/outdoor plants. They have no actual cashiers but a bunch of people standing around 4 self checkout areas that are just talking to themselves. This is the closest Home Depot to us and our 'go to' when we need anything to fix up the house. Recently we decided to do some home renovations and came to 3 different Home Depots in 1 week! [1/4] We came to get mold trimmings + vinyl flooring for the spare bedroom in the Walk-In of my mother-in-law's place. My husband had measured and we came prepared. I held the long trim while he used the handsaw to saw the trimmings in the correct lengths. We purchases 2 of the 16' trimmings + 5 cases of the Peyor Blue Rigid Core Luxury Click Lock Vinyl Plank Flooring @ $52.05 a case. [1/6] We got 2 paint samples of 2 colors that match close to the colors in my mother-in-law's house- kitchen & living room. My sister-in-law, husband & I looked over the paint color samples and I selected Intercoastal Grey & Loft Light. Joanna helped us with the small sample cans. My MIL wanted to repaint and freshen up her place. We also got another 1 gallon can of Behr Ultra [Interior Pure White Eggshell Enamel] Scuff Defense Stain-Blocking Paint and Primer in One AND 1 gallon can of Behr Premium Plus Ultra [Pure White Eggshell Enamel Low Odor Interior] Paint and Primer in One. We had originally bought 1 can each on Sunday 1/3 from another Home Depot but found out we like 2 coats of paints so we needed another can. [1/7] We return again to get the big gallons of paint of the 2 colors for my MIL. She loved the colors I chose; Joanna helped us again with the larger gallons. We show demo of how to score the wallpapers, and explained that after scoring is to spray using the wallpaper removal spray and then using scraper to peel off the wallpaper. We would do this the next day to rip out the wallpapers in that hallway so then they can repaint those walls. ****UPDATE**** Checked the receipts & pictures and noticed they charged us different prices than the price stickers. Everything was scanned so the pricings in system is more expensive then their in-store price sticker or website prices. I placed an online order for curbside pick up. I didn't receive a confirmation email or follow up email that my order was placed, however my bank account was charged. The curbside pick up option at checkout showed my order will be ready for pick up within 2 hours and that I'll get an email when the order is ready for pick up. I didn't receive that email and instead got an email notifying me that half the items i paid for were canceled. I still wasn't told if the rest of my order was ready for pick up?! I canceled the rest of the order and had to place my entire order all over again at a different location. I now don't have access to the funds for 3-5 business days until my refund comes through. Like all Home Depot locations, this one is gigantic and a bit overwhelming at first. We visit annually for garden/nursery items and pots, but I have also purchased storage and small furniture pieces from here as well. My one complaint is missing pieces which seems to be a common theme here. I bought a storage piece for towels (not sure what it's even called) which I had to assemble myself, and it was missing a screw and a handle. This meant I had to try to find those exact missing pieces online OR go back to the store which is extremely annoying, especially after I spent an hour putting this thing together. I also bought drawer handles from here and when I went to order replacements, they were sold out. All of the "closest matches" looked completely different. The parking lot is huge so I never have an issue finding a spot. It's also located close to a BJ's store in case you need to do some more shopping. read more

Some people working here are unbelievable. It's like a scene form a movie. I needed to get specific screws: M 2.5mm x 10. I asked a guy working there if they had them. Almost without looking he said "we don't have these here" as he kept scanning the boxes with his scanner. This dude didn't feel like being bothered to help me, so instead he said they didn't have them. Really funny stuff. Then I went to the drawers with screws and managed to find the last 2 bags of these very screws absolutely no problem, albeit shuffling through the unorganized mess of various nuts/bolts/screws. The drawers were all completely unsorted. Lots of empty bags with no screws in them, not properly stocked at all. Separate time, I wanted to order kitchen floor tiles. They kept arriving busted 3 times to a point of being unusable. I wound up going to another store and just picking up a different color instead. If you desperately need something at the last second, then try your luck here. They do have a large inventory of all your tools, power tools and really good outdoor plants. However, don't count on ordering something fragile/brittle and getting that delivered to the store in one piece. Order things on Amazon if you are not in a hurry. read more

So an entire store of people who work in a home improvement/construction setting can't figure out how to use a slide cutting machine. I was told to cut it at home. I told the sarcastic worker I don't own a van or a pick up truck. Why don't you open up a few tools and cut some wood for people. Amazing. Way to hire proficient workers. My main complaint for this location, is that when you check-out from the garden, with all your flowers, pots, and etc, the employee in the booth will NOT get out and help you scan. They sit there and WATCH you struggle! Why can't you help me and maybe make my life easier? Why are there self check-outs now? What a disaster! Came here for the monthly Kids Workshop- with arts and crafts all provided by the store. Registered online beforehand for faster entry to the workshop. Staff hands each kid an apron, their set of project, and off to the crafts table they go. Parents are to assist with hammering and nailing each item into the woods, so kids can start painting their project. All other essential arts products are available at the staff station. Workshop can get pretty crowded (come early), but there is enough supplies for all. Finished product looked good, and my child felt great sense of accomplishment. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I have been shopping here on and off for years. Most of the experiences have not been great. I have to admit there were one or two good ones although the bad ones overshadowed any of the good. In reading some of the other reviews I am amazed that Home Depot corporate management is not more involved. Let's talk about my experience today. I purchased about $70 worth of items last week which included a set of Defiant 8 pack LED lights which work on batteries, have a remote control and change colors. They seemed like a great buy at $15.97. I purchased them and tested them all and they worked fine. When I looked at the remote the battery holder was broken. Sealed package so it's not Home Depot's fault. It's what happened at the store that bothers me. I went to customer service to get an exchange of the remote. I did not want to take the lights as I already had them mounted with the double face tape and did not want a refund, just a working remote. I checked the store inventory before driving over there and they showed 14 in stock. The customer service agent Vee was very friendly and tried to help, she also checked the inventory and told me they were in the Hardware section in aisle 20, 21, or 22. When I checked there I could not find it. I asked one of the sales people who was an older man and appeared to have a Russian accent if he worked in the department and could help me. At first he pointed to the area it should be in, he walked over with me an could not find it only saying "it might be on a pallet somewhere. This started at 10 am Sunday morning, not a busy time over the 4th of July weekend. I walked back to customer service, explained what happened to Vee and she tried several times to get someone by paging the department to come over to customer service for assistance. I waited over 15 minutes and nothing. I don't blame Vee, I blame the pro management. Where was Anthony Ross the manager of the store or one of his assistant managers??? This is not the first time something like this happened. What happened to the inventory?? Is everything being stolen in the store??? If a supervisor hears a department constantly being paged for the same thing why did they not step in??? They did not have an issue giving me a refund although now I have to drive back to my house, take down the lights and drive back again. Thats over 2 gallons in gas or almost half the price of the purchase. It's sad how businesses can appear to not make an effort to assist their customers and expect to stay in business. Please stay away from the Cropsey Ave location of Home Depot. They only have 2 1/2 stars without my review and there are trust issues expressed by other customers. read more

We've purchased many things at Home Depot during the pandemic; they have a wide variety of things, though in-store the availability of nicer furnishings is limited. The 2-star review is with regards to a new screen door we've been trying to install. First, in July, someone came to measure our current door frame. We had also been told that he would bring a catalog of all the doors, but he said he was only there to measure. In late July, we went to the store, picked our door, paid for it and got an invoice saying "Estimated Install End Date: 8/22/2020." It is now early September, but no one called to confirm. When I called Home Depot, they transferred me 3 times before the rep told me to call a DIFFERENT company, which supposedly had the door already, to schedule a time. Called that company, but no one picked up the phone. Isn't it their job to email or call us to schedule a time for delivery or installation? Relative went in looking for the tile I wanted for the bathrooms and even sent him the tags I took a picture of. He showed the floor associate the tile, and instead of giving my relative the correct item, the employee grabbed something different and passed it off with the line "it's the same but with new packaging". What I wanted is the Kolasus Matte finish that's $31+ a box. What they sold to us was Trafficmaster Strata at $20+ a box. The tiles were used and then I noticed they were completely not the ones I requested. Tell me how are these two different brands the same?? How can the staff member lie to us like that?! Now we're in too deep to replace the tiles, and I now know to not trust Home Depot's employees. I literally cried looking at the tiles used, and couldn't believe what happened. They offer penske truck rentals but I wouldn't consider them a full service location as when I rented my moving truck none of the additional add on items such as moving blankets and the hand truck that i rented and paid for were available. I was told if it wasn't in the truck they don't have it. The day of my move the only option was to purchase these items at full price from the store. read more

Came to purchase something all masked and gloved up, and it needed to be unlocked from outside. after I purchased it I asked a n associate sitting by the door if she can unlock it for me or get someone to unlock it. She told me to go back inside and ask someone else. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Horrible experience with kitchen designs. I spent over $30,000 getting my kitchen redone with Bob. He has no idea what he is doing. Ordered extra cabinets, cabinets that were the wrong size, wrong size Island, never ordered certain items, ordered too many of other items, overall just a mess. I had to return so many items. Waiting to order correct items and then order cabinets and the island I need, put my project back about 2 months. I waited about 6 months to actually have a kitchen. Then king tops comes to put the counter top in, damages my fridge panel and cracks the granite countertop. They also dripped epoxy all over 2 of the cabinets and now I need 2 new cabinets. Now I'm waiting for a new fridge panel and I need to reorder the cabinets they got epoxy all over. These people have no idea what they are doing. Then I had an issue with my windowsill being incorrectly templated. I speak with Josephine and she was no help telling me I had to pay when the countertop people did the template incorrectly. My gear shifter snaps while riding in Brooklyn rendering the motorcycle out of commission, so with broken bolt in hand and needing a quick solution to get it functional, in I went. I'm not feeling particularly hopeful at this point as I reach my first customer service rep. Home Depot has proven to be lacking with regard to customer service within the majority of locations I have transacted with. A torch $43.00 and replacement 5/8 bolts, washers, nuts. The center punch was $16.50 not including tax on either. I was surprised. I figured the parts to run about $30-$35 which clearly didn't happen. Probably driving my cabbie nuts, I returned into the store twice as I was forgetting a few additional items. Screwdrivers, wrench, chisel, all equally important stuff for my attempt. Love this particular Home Depot location hidden in a spot right off the Belt Parkway in Coney Island. My favorite part about it is the nursery which is all the way to left when you walk in. It's transformed into a winter wonderland during the Christmas holiday and is absolutely beautiful to walk through. The rest of the place is gigantic and has everything you need from a home improvement super store. They moved the storage bins up to the front of the store by the Christmas trees which is better than in the back where they used to be. They have a ton of checkout lanes for both self checkout or and for service by a human being. Like most other Home Depot locations they have the food guy out front that more of a permanent cart with a bunch of cheap food options, too.
