The new space is located on Monroe Ave and could NOT be more convenient. Make a quick left or right off the expressway and BOOM - there's easy parking lot around the back where the main entrance into the studio is. The studio is primarily focussed on dance for kiddos and teens, but I've been lucky to take some of the evening classes they offer for adults, all of which have been outstanding - even for me who is more of an "enthusiastic mover" than dancer. I love how convenient it is for me to make a month-long, once a week commitment to try something new and get moving in a new way. I am currently enjoying adult hip hop class and teacher Solange makes class FUN, accessible, and inclusive of all abilities. I can't recommend enrolling your kiddo here OR taking a class yourself enough. They offer a full schedule of ballet, tap, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, and more for young learners, and sessions for adults are changed up throughout the year. They offer high quality, weekly dance classes for all ages, including adults, with both tuition and drop-in payment options for adults. I grew up taking classes in jazz, ballet, and tap, and had taken classes as an adult in modern, hip-hop, and contemporary/lyrical. However, when I started taking classes at RDT, I hadn't taken any classes, consistently, for over 10 years. I immediately fell in love with the RDT studio, the welcoming atmosphere, and high quality dance instruction and feedback. The owner and director, Stephanie Kovac, doesn't treat adult dancers as an afterthought; she prepares material, gives real feedback, and treats us like any other dance student... someone who wants to learn and improve. I've become more and more committed to my dance classes since that first class a year-and-a-half ago and now I jokingly say that I'll be there, "whenever the doors are open". Dancing at RDT has brought so much joy to my life through dancing, friendship, and the satisfaction that comes from doing something you love and seeing improvement.

Students have said that the teachers make learning fun and at the same time challenging while learning. Don't waste your money going anywhere else if you want an enjoyable experience for you or your child to learn to dance. Teachers are always accessible to talk to and are very understanding, patient and willing to help students and parents with any questions or concerns. Their competition teams are awesome and have won numerous awards. There is also alot of one-on-one attention given to students during their classes. This is a school where the teachers really invest themselves in your dance education whether you are looking to be a serious dancer or a recreational dancer.

It's hard to give this place a bad review when your kid is having so much fun and looks forward to going to her dance class. Michelle, the owner and instructor, is friendly, fun and encouraging, and she makes the experience very accessible. While you can 'drop in' to classes, I recommend signing up for a session to see what it's about and really get the most for your money. I am not able to actually attend all the classes in the session due to work travel, so I worked it out with Michelle to just pay for the sessions I can attend at the per-session pricing. So far I have not been disappointed. Each class starts with a short warm up, followed by repetitive dance moves. We seem to focus on one or two moves that we do over and over with different music and in different combinations. Each class is different. There is work with the veil, so we get an arm and upper back workout, and there is always a part at the end which is sort of 'watch and follow', where Michelle strings together everything we learned into what feels like a choreographed dance. And Michelle also always leaves a few minutes at the end for questions. The variety of ladies in the class ranges from young (20s) to mature (60s or older), with every race and size represented. We all have a great time in an atmosphere that is fun and not at all judge-y. I love the music and the fact that Michelle provides all the props, like the skirts with jingly coins and veils. The only thing to note is that the parking lot is small and since there are many classes running at the same time (between Nu Mvmnt yoga studio and Writers and Books which share the lot), it might be hard to find a spot. There is street parking in the front of the building on University and the back on Atlantic, as well as on the side.

The…read moreteachers are great, and if you're struggling take time to demonstrate/explain things until you're able to get it down. The classes themselves are kept small enough so each student can get individual attention if needed, and the instructors do a good job of making sure everyone is comfortable with moves before moving onto something else. There's also a really good sense of camaraderie here, not only with the students but the instructors as well. Once you're in a class, it starts to feel like family. You're not just treated like another student, and by your third or fourth lesson you'll see that everyone knows you by name and vice versa. If you're looking for a fun workout that's not boring, I would highly recommend checking this place out.

BE CAREFUL BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR THIS MEMBERSHIP!!!! The…read moreowner has absolutely zero compassion and will not help you if you're unaware of the fine print regarding their "roll over" policy. Instructors, the front desk, their advertising and everything will tell you that unused classes will roll over to the following month, but no one will ever explain to you there's a cap to the amount that roll over until after you're automatically charged hundreds of dollars for months of classes that don't exist. If you explain to them your family member is dying and you were too busy taking care of their hospice plans to attend classes and had no idea this policy existed and ask if there's anything they can do to help you, they will tell you that you signed a contract and should've read it better. I have loved the classes here, but my heart is broken over their lack of communication and compassion. This is incredibly unfair, and I just want you to know the reality of what you're signing up for before you get trapped by predatory policies and fine print no one will ever mention like I did.

As a parent you can see your child's progress as they grow, but nothing is more special than seeing the support from the older girls to the younger girls. Classes include ballet/tap/jazz combination as well as specialty classes like hip hop and lyrical and more! The teachers are very supportive and positive and make the dance experience - which is a sport in my humble opinion, enjoyable - dance is hard work but fun a beautiful to watch - Elite makes sure all the kids are stars! Elite is our home away from home and we look forward to many more years of dancing!
