The building is quite large and has on site parking with a back lot. I was very excited to learn of a free event with graphic journalist Joe Sacco. The event was free and I found great value in the conversation with Joe Sacco and Daniel Worden. I learned a lot about the authors body of work and felt it was a great evening focused on the arts. I also learned Writers and Books hosts events like this throughout the year and brings authors to the Rochester area to discuss their works. As previously mentioned, The book store had new and used books, including books by the visiting author available to purchase and have signed. I also enjoyed an interactive typewriter display where you can type out a line and add to what others have written before you. A wonderful organization with a worthy cause, I hope to attend more events in the future and visit the bookstore when in the area.

I took photos of my bouquet before I took it apart to dry each of the flowers. I was concerned they wouldn't be able to put it back to together exactly the way it was, but they did! they did such a great job putting my brooches back in the bouquet as well. The frame itself is custom made of course with the wood and colors I wanted to match. fast forward to about a year later (marriage didn't work out) and the owner was very gracious as I reluctantly wanted them to take their awesome work back. The owner gave me the opportunity to at least keep the frame (even willing to change up the look) to repurpose it as they couldn't refund the money. He hung on to it for me for months (and gave me back my brooches) before I made the decision of giving it up entirely. I thought at least they could keep it at their store as a wonderful example of their work on their first framed wedding bouquet.

It was a bit difficult for us to find it since our GPS led us through the winding campus roads. There was ample parking in front of the Arts Center which was a delightful surprise. Since we got there fairly early, we took a short stroll around the concert hall. There were beautiful sculptures and art pieces around, a cute seating area (for students I'm guessing). The evening didn't start out great. The usher literally led us to the wrong seats, on the opposite end of the theater. It was an ordeal finding our seats and the people we passed while looking for our seats were quite rude which put me in a bad mood. The seats were a bit cramped; I couldn't stand up to dance. They were comfortable enough to sit in though! The acoustics weren't fabulous from where I was sitting by the right side door. During the intermission, I stepped out. Again, the people down our row were rude and grunted at us as we tried to get passed them. The water fountain outside of the door did not work! The concessions stand only took cash and it was super crowded. I ended up going to a vending machine downstairs. The bathroom I went to (downstairs) was very clean and spacious. It was much nicer than I had expected it to be. Overall, I have mixed feelings about the Nazareth Arts Center. On the one hand, it was a pretty and clean facility with decent seats. But on the other hand there were so many small things like the incompetent usher and broken water fountain that really turned me off to it. I'm willing to give it another try and come back for another show in the future (hopefully with a different crowd).
