The classes themselves are kept small enough so each student can get individual attention if needed, and the instructors do a good job of making sure everyone is comfortable with moves before moving onto something else. There's also a really good sense of camaraderie here, not only with the students but the instructors as well. Once you're in a class, it starts to feel like family. You're not just treated like another student, and by your third or fourth lesson you'll see that everyone knows you by name and vice versa. Instructors, the front desk, their advertising and everything will tell you that unused classes will roll over to the following month, but no one will ever explain to you there's a cap to the amount that roll over until after you're automatically charged hundreds of dollars for months of classes that don't exist. If you explain to them your family member is dying and you were too busy taking care of their hospice plans to attend classes and had no idea this policy existed and ask if there's anything they can do to help you, they will tell you that you signed a contract and should've read it better. I have loved the classes here, but my heart is broken over their lack of communication and compassion. This is incredibly unfair, and I just want you to know the reality of what you're signing up for before you get trapped by predatory policies and fine print no one will ever mention like I did.

I have also attended a book release party and a youth literary circle. Most events are low-cost and have an option to pay as you can. The summer program last year included meals for youth. This theater is a gem to Rochester, but especially for youth who don't always have access to creative outlets. One thing that I have noticed, though, is to always add a little time to your plans. Events sometimes start late or have added time during an event that I hadn't anticipated (e.g. Tour of the art gallery).

Getting in and out of theatre is bit strange. There seams to be only an elevator to get to second floor where the theatre is. Slows down a bit to get in or out. We were there for Yamato, Japanese taiko drummers. What a great performance. Yamato is a group of 9 people, 2 women and 7 men. They play mostly drums, but there was flute and cymbal playing too. The size of the drums varies from less than a foot up to 5 feet in diameter. The sticks they use for the big drums are huge too. After the show the players showed up in the hall to thank us for coming.

I am always blown away by the professionalism of these performances, and it's a reasonably priced night out. Support your local small venue! Parking is easy and felt safe at night. The opening act came off the stage and literally walked right in front of me while I was on the way to the bathroom. I got front row seats, and got them pretty easily. I also did the VIP before the show. They made us line up outside, which was weird because it was windy. But I don't think that had anything to do with the venue though. I stood center stage right under him for his whole show. That makes one happy fangirl.
