The doors opened early around 5:30 and the show started at 7:30. It gave us time to mingle with friends and meet new friends. They had a full bar serving a variety of beers, wines, and spirits, with a signature drink called "the transfusion". The transfusion was vodka based with juices, it not only looked like blood, but came in a "blood bag" that you drink out of. Very cool idea to go with the theme of the film. The seating was comfortable and lighting was amazing with the stage full of candles. Very romantic setting. The orchestra was fantastic! What a great experience. They had a 20 minute intermission. I am disabled, and chose not to use the elevators, because they were in heavy use. I paid for that choice dearly. I was just so excited to be there after waiting years to see this concert! I have also attended a book release party and a youth literary circle. Most events are low-cost and have an option to pay as you can. The summer program last year included meals for youth. This theater is a gem to Rochester, but especially for youth who don't always have access to creative outlets. One thing that I have noticed, though, is to always add a little time to your plans. Events sometimes start late or have added time during an event that I hadn't anticipated (e.g. Tour of the art gallery).
