What a great time! Last night we saw the "Twilight in Concert" A live 12 piece orchestra performs in score with the Twilight movie. It was fantastic! The doors opened early around 5:30 and the show started at 7:30. It gave us time to mingle with friends and meet new friends. They had a full bar serving a variety of beers, wines, and spirits, with a signature drink called "the transfusion". The transfusion was vodka based with juices, it not only looked like blood, but came in a "blood bag" that you drink out of. Very cool idea to go with the theme of the film. The seating was comfortable and lighting was amazing with the stage full of candles. Very romantic setting. The orchestra was fantastic! What a great experience. They had a 20 minute intermission. I went to Kodak last night to see the Beth Hart concert. It was my first time there. I loved the size. There are a ton of stairs and a lot of walking, but they have elevators. I am disabled, and chose not to use the elevators, because they were in heavy use. I paid for that choice dearly. I was just so excited to be there after waiting years to see this concert! I will definitely be back. It was so easy getting in and out, the staff was super respectful and polite. read more

Went to my first show here recently, can't believe I've lived in Rochester my entire life and never been here for a concert, show or some large scale event. Build in 1958 with just under 2,000 comfortable seats ... not a bad view in the place. Main lobby has a few display cases showcasing the long history of Kodak. Very cool to see all the science, technology and culture that was created here through artifacts, cameras and a great photo display. Box office and a gift shop are also part of the main lobby. Entering the theater you go through a few security steps, checking bags, metal scans and ticket checks. Snacks and drinks are available to purchase, prices are high. Our seats were orchestra left, perfect view of the stage. It was a great show and I would return for another. My only complaint was the parking. Yes there's large lot directly across the street... however the lines were very only and slow... parking is ten dollars but they only accept credit cards, making things take so long. Nice theater. Easy and ample lot parking across the street. Directed by police so you're not playing Frogger. Once in your bag checked then you're moved along to be wanded Escalators and elevator to get to the upper level. Didn't have time to explore but it looked and smelled like concessions were around. Seats were comfortable, even in the double letter rows I had a good view. Sound seemed a bit off at times but for the most part it was enjoyable. read more

Hadn't been to this Theatre for awhile, forgot how nice it is. Parking is close, across the street for $10.00 with great attendants and direction. Police are there to stop traffic to cross the street safely, both before and after. Inside is bright, attendants are helpful, and venue is easy to navigate. Concessions are great, can't say enough about the options, and bathrooms were clean and open on each floor. Post Modern Jukebox Show was awesome, good acoustics, and ushers seated us politely and quickly. Thanks for a great show, will have to watch the listings to attend another show sooner than later. read more

Parking across the street is $10. There is some closer parking, but I don't think it's worth double the price as the difference is maybe 1/2 - 1 block of walking. The police always help guide traffic for crossing that busy street. It is open air parking. The theater itself is in good shape. It doesn't have the old time feel of Eastman/RPO. read more

We've seen a few shows here now. There is a large lot across the street ($10 to park). During events, there is a concession area upstairs outside the theater. But it's pretty basic and very overpriced... next time we'll bring our own water! The theater itself is well built. Even the sears towards the back get a decent view. However, when the theater is full (which it was last night for Mr. Alton Brown), there is no air flow. They really need to crank the A.C. especially with the mask requirement. It's also fun to check out the lower level with all the Kodak stuff. read more

I had a blast at the Almost Queen Concert last night. Words can't explain how fun it was to sing and dance along! The first band was amazing and it brought a party to life with the crowd singing and dancing along to GREAT MUSIC!! I highly recommend going here to listen to bands, or plays. It's great. The seats were comfortable and I liked the security when you first walk in, also showing your vaccination cards. They are on high alert and I'm happy they are looking out for everyone's safety. read more

Been here for a couple of shows now, 2 upstairs in the big theater and 1 in the teeny tiny theater in the basement. Parking has always been a breeze, even arriving with only 20-30 minutes until showtime. Getting out takes a bit longer, but that's to be expected. I love how the main lobby has been renovated into a museum of sorts, though have never given myself enough time to really explore/enjoy it. Getting through security has been easy, and the space upstairs by concessions is so big it's never really felt crowded. The ushers have always been friendly and it seems you can bring food and drinks into the theater which is kind of nice. Seats and production have been fine both times upstairs. Downstairs is a little odd, used for smaller, local, theater and can feel a bit claustrophobic. It's very tiny, with Very little room on stage so there are actors always right on top of you or in your view in the isles. It's definitely tight but ‍. If there was a kid I knew in a show there, I'd still go to support them. read more

I've worked at the KC as a volunteer for multiple events, I've performed there, attended performances, and worked crew for a few shows. Kodak Center is a weird multi-use entertainment center. The whole lobby has been renovated. Using modern mix- matched furniture. It houses the largest main stage in Rochester with about 2000 seats. On the same floor is a women's room with 5 stalls. What? The smaller stage in the basement has visible wires on the wall. It's really a strange mix of moving on up and weird asbestos signs. There's lots of parking (usually free) and a new Ugly Duck coffee stand. read more

Attended Gary Allan concert on 4/11/2019. This venue is very nice. The only reason I didn't give five stars was the long lines for the bar. They needed either more bars or more staffing at each bar. But the staff throughout the venue were very pleasant and helpful. And prices for drinks were actually very good for a concert venue. I sat in the orchestra area, the seats were very comfortable and had a great view of the stage. It was my first concert here so I am not sure if this is the norm but most people stayed seated throughout the show. I am not generally one to stay seated during a concert but did not want to block anyone's view so I stayed seated too for most of the show. I personally just like a little more energy from a crowd, but of course that is not the fault of the venue. read more

This was our first first at the Kodak Center for a show. The theatre is nice. The line for concessions was way long. The beer/wine line finally started helping out the non-alcoholic"everything else" side. Seats were fairly comfortable, acoustics decent. One comment: when you go to buy tickets online we were not allowed to select our seats, just section/price point. I realize they want to minimize singles but that's a bit severe an approach. RBTL, GEVA, Black Friars all permit specific seat selection. The event we saw was The Lightning Bolt Thief (Percy Jackson) Musical. The ensemble car did a great job maintaining the campiness and irreverence of the book. There were a few cracked notes here and there and the Finale cranked the amps up perhaps higher than necessary, but all in all they were great. We'll be more attentive to what Kodak Theater had on offer in the future. read more

I came here twice for an event and an opening night. I like the exhibit about Kodak, very informative. Parking is plenty outside the building. A few words on the women's room on the first floor: It has seats, a full mirror, extra pads and tampons available, and changing station; Inside each stall there is a pull-down stand for purse. The location is too far for my taste but still worth it. Great view even from the balcony and easy parking. Love the swag boutique and also Ugly Duck coffee, delicious! Shows are pretty cool. read more

Her sister has performed with Rochestet Association of Performing Arts (RAPA) in a few of their performances as this is their home theater. I normally like this venue - but I was disappointed this time. The web site said they enforced the mask requirement - but almost no one wore a mask once seated - or anywhere else for that matter. The usher just held up a sign that said masks required- but even his was not over his nose. If you are going to advertise a policy that is "strictly enforced" - then do it. If they said mask optional then I could make an informer choice about wearing a mask. Sound was good and parking was OK. Most seats are good seats in this venue read more

I must give them and their security a 5 star rating. I went to the maxwell show last night and was in the balcony seating which is very steep. This caused me to begin having an anxiety attack. Due to that the secruity found me and my friend a seat on the lower level in handicap which they did not have to do. I greatly appreciate how they treated me and made sure that I was well and enjoyed myself. God bless them! Maxwell also did excellent. Keep up the good work!! read more

Ticket box office agent gave us false info that covid restrictions were dropped, they said it was a mistake a week before the show and venue wouldn't help us get our money back, but they sure gave us a run around. A different agent today gave me a wrong number to Ticketmaster it was a sales line number to Ticketmaster and said call them for a refund. They mins later they then told Ticketmaster not to refund us. ? What? Thank Kodak Theatre for incorrect information and then continuing your long line of bad information and not helping us. This box office nor there manager care about there customers or own the accountability that they told us false info. If it was an honest mistake than fix it, don't ignore and lie because I wouldn't ever buy a ticket there again. Poor customer service at it worst. They stopped taking our calls after I called Ticketmaster too. I screen shot the whole thing, sad. read more

I recently took a tour of this space with President, Jim Vollertsen (RAPA) and General Manager, Bill Griffin (Kodak Center). As of June 2013, the theater is being leased to the Rochester Association of Performing Arts (RAPA), who is working to bring in a variety of art programs, including traveling performances, local artists, film festivals, and performance arts classes. The theater can seat up to 1,964 people in comfort, with lots of leg room, and is able to stage anything from grand operas, to keynote speakers, to feature films. Additionally there is flexible meeting space all over the complex, with classroom style rooms of various sizes (computer station ready) and smaller lecture theater rooms. The building also has a green room, dressing rooms, a gymnasium, dark rooms (for photography) a cafeteria/meeting space, and is now a New York State qualified production facility. Built in 1959, walking the halls feels like a step back in time, which made for some fun pictures. We even found some great film reels. I especially loved the dressing rooms--which looked very old Hollywood. There are a lot of opportunities here for conferences, events and performing arts organizations. read more

This was my first visit to the Kodak Center. I goofed when I purchased the tickets to the Lewis Black Show. I was thinking Kodak Hall. First disappointment was parking. $10!!! There is literally no where else to park!! Then I was frisked before going into the venue?! Unexpected, but no big deal. Had balcony seats (for which I paid a bundle of money), the stairs leading up to the seats are steep. If you have any problems with acrophobia this is not the place for you. If you have claustrophobia, this is not the place for you. The seats are so small that they are difficult to get in and out of. I'm 4'10" and not obese! Then you have put up with the patrons who drink too much and shout out during the performance. I have been to other venues that allow alcohol to be sold at intermission, but you are not allowed to bring it back to you seat. This place is for you if you want to drink through the performance. I will never go there again!! I don't care who is the performer. I guess my standards are a little high. I don't like price gouging and being uncomfortable for 3 hours!! read more
