    Brick Chicken

The food here was seriously to die for! We came with a group of 10 ladies for a bachelorette dinner. They had a "congratulations" sign on our table upon arrival which was a nice touch. Our table was near the window so we got a gorgeous view of the sunset although half the table did have the sun in their eyes for part of dinner. We started with a round of espresso martinis then calamari, and Caesar salad (two of each). Portion sizes were not huge but enough for us. The calamari was cooked well but probably my least favorite thing I ate here. The Caesar salad dressing was some of the best I've ever had. 8 of the 10 of us got the short rib dish and I don't think anyone had any complaints, it was VERY good. The other two girls got the brick chicken and a filet mignon, both said theirs were good as well. Overall a great dinner experience, would come back if I'm back in town!

The Hobbit is an upscale American and seafood restaurant located in the Rivendell Condominium building on 81st Street. It's open Sunday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and from 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM Friday and Saturday. My friends and I had a list of spots to try this year, and this one was at the top. We'd heard nothing but great things, so I'm happy to say it didn't disappoint. All the food was enjoyable and our server Vern made sure we were well taken care of. We kicked things off with the Cherry Bomb Calamari and the Scallops Tagliatelle. The calamari, topped with toasted coconut and served with Shanghai aioli, was good, but the tagliatelle was the standout. Perfectly seared dayboat scallops paired with housemade tagliatelle in a truffle butter sauce, with peas, pancetta, Parmesan, and a drizzle of jus gras. Rich, fresh, and beautifully balanced. Next, I tried the cream of crab soup, made with fresh Maryland jumbo lump crab meat. The flavor was rich and well-balanced, but I did encounter a few shell fragments. A truly great bowl of cream of crab should be smooth and shell-free. For our entrees, we ordered the smoked cheddar pierogies, the red wine braised short rib, and the filet mignon. While everything was delicious, the filet was by far the best. You can choose from three preparation styles, we had it blackened, and it was cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection. It's a dish I'd happily come back for.

Go to the hobbit every time we are in town and it is the best! Food is great, and service is amazing too. Luke is the best server, you should request him. Reservations needed, as this place fills up quickly even during the week. Always happy to return

Never dissapoints. The best restaurant in OC hands down. Cream of Crab is best I ever had, the lamb chops are best I ever had. Stuffed filet is perfect every time!

Went to The Hobbit for dinner on our anniversary. It was a pleasant surprise to see we had a card at our table celebrating with us! I got an espresso martini and it was delicious! Wife ordered the lobster Mac & cheese and I got the smoked cheddar pierogis. The Mac and cheese was good but not her favorite. The pierogis were excellent! The smoked cheddar flavor with the sauerkraut and the apples paired so perfectly together! Unfortunately did not have room for dessert, was planning on trying the chocolate rum cake. Overall nice dinning experience. Beautiful dinning atmosphere.

The theme is so fun for Tolkien fans! The panoramic views of the bay are beautiful but be careful around sunset and bring your sunglasses! It gets BRIGHT inside. The service was excellent, shout out to Tim! The food was average for a fine dining restaurant. The steak was overcooked and the fish was under seasoned. It was just okay for the price. The dessert and cocktails were great though! If the food had been seasoned a little bit more and if the steak had been cooked properly this would have been 5 stars. But overall it was a good experience and we'd probably return.

Our party of 7 came for dinner on a Saturday night at 9pm. We were celebrating my friends bachelorette and my birthday. We were greeted and immediately seated upon our arrival. Our server was quick to take our order and share drink/food specials. bread with butter was provided for the table as a starter and it was fresh and warm. I ordered the Macadamia Crusted Salmon as I was looking forward to enjoying seafood by the water. The salmon was fresh and flavorful , it hit the spot after a long day of driving and activities around Ocean City. Food came out quick and everyone we encountered was very polite. I would recommend this place especially if you're looking for a more upscale experience while in Ocean City!

Amazing dinner experience celebrating a birthday! They had a happy birthday sign on the table which was a nice touch. The bread basket was incredible. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. All of the food was amazing and we enjoyed the cocktails as well. The ambience was wonderful and we enjoyed sitting next to the windows overlooking the bay. Overall the perfect restaurant for a special occasion

This place has the best sunset view, and the best most eclectic menu of this past week in Ocean City! Our old friend, who has done very well for himself, offered to buy dinner at the best restaurant in Ocean City, Maryland. I am no fool so I quickly consulted with my Yelp Elite peers in Ocean City and found The Hobbit! Boy, was this a terrific choice! The appetizer selection was unsurpassed in creativity and flavor. The service was first class all the way, we could not have asked for higher quality care by our service team. The view from the dining room was extraordinary and the sunset was spectacular. Parking was free and easy. There is an impressive selection of house-special cocktails and mine was delicious, (24 year-old Mccallen Scotch whiskey) The halibut special was extremely wonderful with late sweet corn and peppers! My chocolate desert was huge and fresh and delicious. My three old friends all raved about their meals! If you happen to be in Ocean City, and you love an epicurean celebration. you cannot do any better. Make a reservation the word is out!

Fantastic experience. I've had this on my list for a while and it was great experience! I recommend making a reservation if you want to try The Hobbit! The highlight of the meal were certain the lamb chops in fact I would two orders next time as my meal! The scallop potatoes, gandolf salad and steak were also scrumptious. The drink were great and views fantastic. I will certainly be back!

The Hobbit was a wonderful choice for an upscale birthday dinner. Everything was excellent! We snagged a last minute reservation after a cancellation due to weather and thankfully it held out for us as we sat outside. The view was great! Food was incredible, even starting with the fresh rolls (of course we got a refill). The crab soup was lovely and catch of the day (halibut) came with corn, bacon, asparagus and cherry tomatoes. Duck breast was done very well. Cocktails and mocktails were wonderful. Our server was excellent and we appreciated the birthday sign :) will return next time in OCMD!

We were set on getting the salmon and the swordfish dishes which we did, and it did not disappoint! They were the most delicious dishes I had experienced in a long time. I asked about the seasoning on the salmon and the waitress, who was fabulous, said it was Moroccan. I loved the hint of cinnamon but according to the Moroccan spice I looked at on the web, it is a combination of numerous spices which amounts to a delicious combination of flavors. Both dishes were paired perfectly with their sides and sauces. I have never left a review about a restaurant before. This will be one of my few unforgettable meals. If dining inside, bring a sweater. They don't skimp on their air-conditioning. It was a cool night so we ate outside which was nice, but what made it nicer was our wonderful waitress, Fanika(?), who had the most awesome, helpful, outgoing personality that makes a dining experience that much better. And she was right about the coconut espresso martini. It was delicious! She also mentioned that the menus are seasonal so I am looking forward to returning to Hooked when I'm back in OC and trying other meals. I'm hooked!!

Make a reservation... especially if you want to come on a Friday or Saturday night, but really, just make one no matter the occasion or time. They get really busy here and for good reason. On an island without many good food options, this place stands out. Nice atmosphere, plenty of options on the lunch or dinner menus, good portions, quality food and nice cocktails too. At this point, we've tried lunch, dinner, bringing the dog, no dog, burgers, tacos, their classic wings, shrimp with crab imperial, crab cakes and several cocktails and mocktails. Service was excellent during both of our visits and I really felt like they cared. The waitress, the one who brought our cocktails, the one who brought our food... everyone just gave off that vibe and had a passion for making customers happy. I particularly liked the "New Fashioned" cocktail, which was like an Old Fashioned with some Grand Marnier. Really tasty. My shrimp crown imperial was okay, but those shrimp on top of the tasty crab really needed some more char. They're supposed to be grilled shrimp, but tasted more like steamed. Overall though, awesome place to eat in a town that has few good options. After two visits and trying this much of the menu, Longboard has definitely earned a spot in our Ocean City rotation.

I started with two soups - jerk chicken and rice soup and the cream of crab. The chicken was good and had long rice with plenty of spices but the soup came out very lukewarm. Granted I don't need it piping but it was somewhat concerning. Also - the chicken was a tenderloin rather than shredded or chopped which was kind of hard to negotiate with a spoon. The cream of crab continues to cement its place as the top 2 cream of crab soups in and around OC. I went with the longboard burger as my meal - served with pasta salad. Really like the pasta salad as a side being different. The burger was pretty skimpy on the special sauce that came with it, but I asked for a side of bleu cheese which was good. The bartender who served us was a younger guy with a beard and longer hair - very friendly and attentive to everyone. Again - nice chill vibe here - cool little built-in market area and a cool design.

The Chef looks familiar, I think I tasted his food before at one of the Celebrity Chefs Brunches for Meals on Wheels. I remember it being fantastic. There is outside dining but I booked inside as we weren't sure how warm it would be in May. It turned out to be a cold and windy weekend so we were very glad to be inside, plus the outside tables have a view of the highway. What a cute little restaurant inside; it is very tiny. We were crammed into a table in the corner. It was difficult to get past the other diners at their tables, and we could hear all the conversations around us. Every table was packed, I can't imagine what it's like in this room during the busy summer. Noelle was our server and she was amazing; very knowledgeable and friendly. She described the homemade bread service to us, and we ordered 2 Coastalpolitans which were made with Tito's Vodka, lime, soju, St. Germaine, and cranberry. They were sweet, and tart, and bright, and delicious. We decided on crab toast instead of the bread, and Noelle said we made the right choice. Wow, she was correct. The crab toast blew us away. It was chunks of crab on fluffy, crispy milk bread with pickled scallions, radish, lemon aioli, kelp powder, and lime. So beautiful and so delectable! RJ ordered the Pork Chop, which Noelle said One Coastal is known for, and I ordered the NJ Day Boat Scallops. We had no words. We sat there and quietly enjoyed every bite while listening to the surrounding tables, and knew we found a maybe not so hidden gem. My scallops were delicate and buttery and sweet, and melted in my mouth. RJ said his pork chop was tender and juicy, and the best he ever had. That is saying something. We finished with bread pudding because who doesn't love a good bread pudding, and we like to try it whenever we see one that looks interesting. It was salty and sweet and just so perfect. What One Coastal lacks in space and view, it makes up for with food and service. What a delightful place, and Noelle was a pleasure and a joy. We will definitely return to try all the other things and be lucky to sit anywhere inside or out.
