Back patio was a great vibe!! - A man wearing a cap with a logo, sunglasses, and a red shirt drinks from a copper mug outdoors in front of a wooden fence.

Awesome bar!! Very good vibe and sensational cocktail menu! I can imagine this place gets rowdy on weekend nights, but that's a guess. The bar tender was super nice! Didn't even get impatient with me when I took forever trying to decide on a cocktail. I went with the mule and it was *chefs kiss* delicious! Anyway, yeah, the bartender was just so nice. The kinda that makes me wanna become a regular. If I ever find myself in Hamtramck or even Detroit area again, I'm definitely going here for a drink or ten.

The Chandelier - A cocktail with a cherry garnish is placed on a bar counter in a dimly lit bar with red lighting and a chandelier overhead.

I can't believe this is my first time at High Dive. What a cool spot to hang out! We walked in and were immediately greeted by the most eccentric bartender, who happens to be the owner. He showed us around pointed out the uniqueness of the decor throughout the place. He explained that Detroit doesn't wake up until 10pm and then the party gets started. lol He referred to High Dive as a Vampire Bar. OMG...hahaaaa I didn't know if we should stay or run! We opted to stay and see what the hype was all about. We ended up meeting some fun people and the DJ was spinning great house music. The craft cocktails were amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our night on the town. I can't wait to come back.

Found this place when I parked by it for a separate event and so glad I did! The bartender was incredibly friendly and the drinks were great. Their menu is clearly thought out and the detroiter in me appreciates the homage to Faygo throughout the menu. I love that they had mocktails featured on their menu.

Considering the amount of time I ended up spending when it did reopen after the pandemic, I am…read moreshocked that I didn't have an annual review for the Kiesling. Be still my (former) neighborhood heart. Catching up - cocktails here are still top notch: top as in they taste great, notch as in they could take you down one with their strength. I rolled back in here right after Christmas and started tasting my way through the menu with the Squash mezcal boi. Normally I would never try a drink with boi in its name, but this name is a part of Kiesling's history, and squash? Come on. I had to try it, and it put me right back in the neighborhood as if I had just walked down across the bridge on Brush for a couple of drinks. (And someone please tell me, am I dreaming, didn't we used to cross on Beaubien, too?) I followed that up with the Kie Rye Pie because I cannot resist rhyming, and I am fascinated with drambuie. I thought the drink might be too sweet and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't. I had to close the night out with the Pear Pressure because, alas, there is still no food at the Kiesling, and there was no pop up, and I didn't want eat carryout at the bar. The drink was great, but after three I was feeling the booze and headed across the street for something to eat. This bar is cozy with its wooden interior. It still serves a beer and a shot. And folks are friendly, but not going to get in your business unless you invite them.

Drinks are thoughtfully crafted (including mocktails, which I appreciate), and service is friendly as heck. If I lived nearby, Kiesling would be my spot.

The bar was decorated for its Christmas popup but wasn't too over the top. I appreciated the fresh antipasto salad and sticky, crispy wings, but the drinks were the show stoppers. I slowed down with the Snowball Old Fashioned (rye and gingerbread bitters), which was perfect, and finished the night with the Snow Day Sipper - fancy hot chocolate, delicious but fancy hot chocolate. They staff are friendly but not pushy, and they have suggestions if you want them, which you might. I like this space as it is small and feels intimate. It's not overwhelming when you're on your own, so a great spot to stop for a solo drink or meal.

This place has quickly become one of my favorite spots to grab a drink and unwind -- whether it's a mid-week break or a weekend night out. Right when you walk in, Dragonfly hits you with that fun, eclectic energy that just makes you want to stay a little longer. The space is stylish yet approachable, with local art on the walls and a laid-back feel that strikes the perfect balance between casual and classy. Now, let's talk drinks -- because this is where Dragonfly really shines. Their cocktail menu is imaginative and well-crafted, featuring inventive seasonal drinks alongside timeless classics. If you love trying something a bit different, this is your playground. They also have thoughtful non-alcoholic options, so even if you're not drinking, you're still getting a serious mocktail experience. The food here -- served from a shared kitchen with some seriously tasty small plates -- is a great complement to the drinks. Everything I've tried has been flavorful and designed to pair beautifully with whatever you're sipping. Service here has mostly been great during my visits, and the staff are friendly and actually excited about the cocktails they serve -- which makes a difference. Whether you're grabbing happy hour early in the evening or making a night of it with friends, Dragonfly delivers a memorable experience that feels distinctly Detroit and totally worth the trip. I'll definitely be back!

We tried the miso carrots, the walleye, and the summer pea pasta. All of the plates were artfully decorated and I loved all the combos of flavors and textures. For dessert, we could not pass up the banana cake. Similar flavor to banana bread, with some kind of magical caramel frosting and crunchy almonds. Chartreuse is very deserving of all of those Best of Detroit awards.
