So many of our guests came up to us throughout the night (and even after) to tell us it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. The terrace with sweeping city views made for an unforgettable backdrop, and the space itself is already so elegant on its own--between the gorgeous chandeliers, draping, and timeless design, it felt like a dream even before we added our own décor. The staff went above and beyond, not only ensuring every detail was seamless but also taking incredible care of our guests, including those with specific needs and allergies. Everyone felt cared for, and it truly showed. We also have to give a special shoutout to Andy and Dagne from the planning team. They were a joy to work with--fun, easy, responsive, and always on top of everything. They kept us on track throughout our year of planning and the day-of Briscel made everything run extremely smooth. We got to just focus on each other and our loved ones! The all-inclusive venue, planning, food, and beverage package is well worth the cost! The planning team made it easy to get ideas around theme, decor, and extra surprises, as well as providing a list of reliable and trustworthy vendors. Matt and the food and beverage team were excellent to work with and were able to easily incorporate our custom named signature cocktails into the package. There was a variety of drink choices for all ages and preferences (including N/A cocktails!). It's been a few weeks since our wedding and I still have guests telling me they loved our food and drinks. I've also had several guests be extremely impressed with how the day-of staff handled dietary restrictions. Everyone that indicated via their RSVP that they had allergies or special diets were given appropriate meals without having to ask or remind the team of their allergies. The space itself is extremely flexible and can be dramatically changed or used as is. Truly a blank canvas for any wild ideas. The space is accessible with ramps, elevators, and bathrooms on every floor. Even better, there is free and secure onsite parking in the attached lot with plenty of space for anyone driving to the event. Another game changer is the on-site bridal suite which you have access to all day! The morning of my wedding, I was not feeling well and had to arrive a little later than scheduled to start getting ready. If we had planned for the bridal party to get ready in my hotel room there would have been no way we could have started on time! Just one way the Walden helps with unexpected hurdles. Unique to this venue is the Tasting Party. All couples plus 4 guests are invited to the Walden in the Winter where you're able to meet a variety of vendors, see the space with creative decor, and of course select your food from a wide variety of delicious and thoughtfully crafted dishes. Additionally, it rained on our wedding day, so our initial plans to take photos downtown and having our first look on the rooftop were not able to happen. However, things turned out much better than I could have hoped! The Walden reception space is beautiful during the day and created a gorgeous space and light for our first look photos. The venue is a very close drive to Garfield Park Conservatory which made for excellent photos. We also got to take second look photos on the rooftop after sunset which turned out to be some of our favorite pictures! The team is really flexible and able to make great suggestions when weather gets in the way! All of our guests said the whole wedding day felt extremely personalized and true to myself and my husband. It would not have been possible without the Walden team! My daughter turned 16 this year, and with the economy the way it is, I truly wasn't sure I could give her the Sweet 16 celebration she deserved. My budget was $5,000, and that had to cover EVERYTHING! I initially booked a venue through Peerspace, but I wasn't happy with what they offered or all the additional costs and add-ons. Then I found Chicago Theater Works, and I'm so glad I did! From the very beginning, Dawn made the entire process incredibly easy. She was wonderful to communicate with, answered my questions, walked me through the contract, and made sure I understood everything. She was genuinely helpful and offered suggestions I never would have thought of myself. Let's talk about the venue itself: ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! It's an intimate, elegant space with a bar, cozy little nooks, and a stage that was perfect for my daughter and her court. The venue also provided water, soda, and juices, which was a wonderful bonus. What really sets Chicago Theater Works apart from other venues is everything they offer in one place. Dawn suggested creating a signature mocktail specifically for my daughter's Sweet 16, and it was such a thoughtful, creative touch! They also provided access to a kitchen where we could keep our food warm and offered great suggestions for arranging the space to make everything flow beautifully. They even offered an interior decorator at a reasonable price and a cash-bar bartender at an affordable rate. The decorator helped bring our vision to life, and the venue looked absolutely gorgeous! Everything came together beautifully, and the space was simple, elegant, and exactly what we had envisioned for our daughter's special day. They also offered an in-house DJ, giving us another convenient option. The owners and staff were wonderful to work with, and the entire experience was so much easier than I anticipated. Planning a Sweet 16 is a lot of work, especially when you're trying to stay within a budget, but Chicago Theater Works helped make it possible to create a beautiful, memorable celebration without feeling overwhelmed by the process. As a mom, all you want is to give your child a day they'll remember forever. Chicago Theater Works helped us do exactly that!
