Had a fantastic experience yesterday at my cousins wedding at this lovely converted industrial space. Deep in the heart of Westloop, it has a very traditional structure, but with modified upscale elegance for any great group activity event. We had a smaller wedding with a 75 people, but it easily hosted us without issues. Awesome wedding venue. It had been raining and the outdoor furniture was wet but the rain stopped and we were able to enjoy being outside. Absolutely wonderful venue for the wedding. The food was great and plentiful with large servings. The bar was very good two bartenders at our service for the entire occasion. The wedding downstairs was beautiful and intimate. What an absolutely beautiful event venue. I was in a bridal party for a wedding at this venue a few weeks ago, and it was the perfect space for an indoor ceremony and reception. While we had a plan for an outdoor ceremony, the rain kept us inside. Even then, the quick decision to move everything inside was so effortless with more than enough space inside for both the ceremony and reception. The social hour being upstairs was genius! It gave everyone time to reconfigure the downstairs area to make it into the reception and dining space. The bartenders and waitstaff were all great and attentive to the needs of the bride and groom and involved wedding party. read more

Working with Rebecca and Loft Lucia for our wedding was amazing. The venue is beautiful and boho/modern - your guests will think you poured thousands into decor that is already there! The staff are amazing and helped so much that I didn't need a day of coordinator. They were so easy to work with even up to the last week, making last minute floor plan changes and answering any final questions. Although you have to bring in all vendors yourself, Rebecca provides a list of their preferred vendors who are very experienced working events at Loft Lucia. We used them all and they were all amazing. It makes such a difference to work with vendors who the venue already trusts and who are already familiar with the venue layout and staff. Lastly, it was raining 10 minutes before our rooftop ceremony and when it stopped, the venue staff dried the seats so quickly and we were able to have our rooftop ceremony! We couldn't have been happier. The staff are so committed to making your event as perfect as possible as if it's their own. Our guests have been buzzing about how beautiful the day was all week. AVOID THIS VENUE DO NOT RECOMMEND: While the venue is beautiful and most of the staff members were pleasant, the manager/owner Rebecca is extremely rude and hostile to work with. Please do your research and check all of the other yelp and google reviews over the years and you will see that there is a pattern of numerous complaints about Rebecca. Instead of addressing these concerns or changing her behavior she always responds with excuses or by blaming the customers instead of realizing that the way that she talks to and treats other human beings is unacceptable. Avoid this venue at all costs, your wedding day is so important and you do not need the added stress of dealing with a venue manager who is not interested in customer service and treats you like an inconvenience. read more

We absolutely loved getting married at Loft Lucia on Saturday, July 27th! We had our ceremony and reception on-site inside and our cocktail hour upstairs on the rooftop for ~70 guests. The space is incredible and is gorgeous in both the daylight, with tons of natural light, and at night (the lighting was perfect with just candles)! Rebecca and the Loft Lucia team made the entire process easy, and were very responsive and always extremely helpful. I had a similar experience to the previous two brides. I live in California and was able to schedule a tour with Loft Lucia while I was in town. They were quick to respond on my first inquiry. We took the tour with Celia and she was very pleasant and informative and the space was absolutely stunning. The location isn't ideal if you have a lot of people coming in from the suburbs because there's very limited parking on site. They don't have a parking lot and street parking in this area is pretty difficult to come by if you're hosting your event on a Saturday night. After the initial tour (May 15th), Celia was very prompt to send me the additional information I had asked for on our tour. On May 21st, I asked for a list of who would likely be on their preferred/approved vendors list for 2019. We were told on the tour that come 2019 they would only work with their approved vendors but they didn't have that list yet. I reached out again on May 23rd asking for the the vendor information. On May 24th, I received a response apologizing for the delay and that they don't have the vendor list finalized but they can send me recommendations. At this point, I started looking at other venues hoping I could find one similar to Loft Lucia with better communication. I waited until June 1st to reach out for a list of recommendations and their June 2019 availability. I reached out again on June 8th asking for the list of recommendations and for June 2019 availability. I received a response on June 16th with 4 catering companies, no bartending companies or DJ's. I understand that May and June is prime wedding season but there is no excuse for a 15 day response time. read more

I hosted my husband's surprise 40th birthday party at Loft Lucia. I was 10 weeks postpartum and so worried I wouldn't be able to pull it off the planning and keeping it a surprise from my husband. The space is stunning and the staff went above and beyond to assist me. Really - I messed up a sign and Rebecca helped me order a new one and she went and picked it up from Fed Ex for me because she knew I couldn't with the baby. The problem we had was that although the venue is great, the acoustics were such that one could hardly hear others while attempting to have conversations. Just awful acoustics. What is the point of an event if one's conversations are so strained and painful? I was considering Loft Lucia for my wedding venue but have had horrible experiences trying to communicate with them over the past two months. I've reached out via email and on a venue search site multiple times and rarely get a response before 48 hours later. I've tried setting up a tour time and have even asked multiple easy questions over email and they just completely disregard them. There is no contact phone number for the space to talk to someone over the phone either. Although the space looks lovely in photos, by the time they respond with their availability for a tour I'm afraid my other vendors will be begin booking up for our potential wedding dates as well. We just had our baby shower at Loft Lucia and it was a hit. Agreeing on the contract was really easy and the manager was great to work with. The day of the event, everything worked as expected. I'm so unbelievably happy we had our wedding here. At the beginning and throughout the wedding planning process there was some hiccups but that is normal when your planning a wedding. This is a new venue so you kinda have to go with the flow and just make sure you get things in writing. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and all the guest loved the venue. The outside terrace with the long tables is what did it for me to have my wedding here. The terrace is really breathtaking once everything is set up, super gorg!! They will work with you the best way they can. I mostly worked with Celia and Rebecca and they were great, understanding and very accommodating. Celia and Rebecca really have a good eye for design and vision. They really know how to make the room look full and inviting for guests. Not to mention the venue has a lot of decorations and beautiful lounge furniture that you can use and it's great for Instagramers and pinterest folks. We just had our reception here so as far as having a ceremony here I'm not sure how that will work. Overall this is a great place and location for a wedding. It's a gorgeous venue and i highly recommend Loft Lucia! read more

Our wedding at Loft Lucia could not have been better. Of the 5 venues we were looking at, Loft Lucia was both the least expensive and the best looking. All the furniture we needed for our cocktail style reception was provided by the venue -- chairs, highboys, tables, couches, those large candle lamps -- saving us thousands of dollars. Rebecca and Celia were wonderfully involved in the months leading up, giving great suggestions, even offering a few opinions on vendors and just over all working to make sure our wedding was everything we wanted. Our venue coordinator Celia did an amazing job, helping us load in and get everything set up on the day of, and because of the surprise Chicago weather (55 degrees in the middle of February) we were able to last minute open up the patio space, which Celia helped fill with chairs and tables hours before the event. The space was so beautiful, the cost was affordable, and the staff were beyond helpful. I cannot recommend Loft Lucia enough, it was perfect for our wedding. read more

We got married here in October and while there were a few bumps in the beginning as they were getting off the ground (like hiring an event staff, etc.)-- this was the best venue! Rebecca and Celia were fantastic to work with leading up to the event answering all of my questions and guiding me through the decision making process. We wanted to do a DIY wedding with our own vendors and personality-- and Rebecca and Celia helped make that a reality. Furthermore, we threw Rebecca a last minute curveball during the event by asking her to run the sound system with my overly engineered playlists and she did it wonderfully. While I never ever plan on getting married again, I definitely do anticipate using this venue again for parties, fundraisers, or company outings. Thanks so much!!! read more

The only reason I gave this venue one-star is because the venue itself is truly beautiful. Would have been great for a wedding my fiance and I are planning.  It is too bad that the event manager, Rebecca, completely lacks in communication part of her job.  After meeting with Celia for the venue tour, who was very pleasant and informative, we were told we have to work with Rebecca on all the pricing and details. We had to email her twice and leave a voicemail before we even heard back. When she finally responded, none of our questions were answered. She had to ask us what dates we were inquring about even though the subject line of the email had the date in it, and we gave it to them when scheduling the tour, and again during our meeting with Celia.  We followed up with a few additional emails at which point it became very frustrating.  Having to deal with this when trying to plan a wedding made the whole experience very unpleasant and the event space undesirable.  Reading the other reviews, doesn't seem like I am alone left feeling this way.  But glad this happened before we signed the contract as I can't imagine having to deal with this level of unprofessionalism at a later stage of planning,  after the contract is signed. read more

While it is a beautiful space, the owners are very misleading and difficult to talk to. Since there is little information currently available online, we made sure to ask for clarifications with one of the owners, Jason, when we toured the space for our wedding, and got answers to questions about the end time, the possibility of holding a rehearsal, etc. When we received the contract and the terms were different, the other owner, Raphaela, told us that what Jason said on the tour wasn't their policy at all, with significant negative impacts on the cost and ability to use the space. The contract also lacked any mention of included items like furniture and had several typos - mention of attachments that didn't exist, accidentally saying no decorations were allowed - and when we asked if this could be corrected, we were told only Jason could approve an edited contract. After being told for six weeks that Jason would get to us soon, we were informed that despite being aware of the mistakes, as other couples were also asking for those edits, we could sign the existing contract or give up the space. Combined with the inexperience of the Loft Lucia team, we did not feel we could trust our wedding to run smoothly in the space and looked elsewhere. I would perhaps consider Loft Lucia for a low-stakes gathering, but would highly recommend avoiding it for something as important as a wedding. read more

First off, what an incredible space. As a caterer the open kitchen is great to work out of, and has a great variety of appliances for use. Their outside space is great and was even better during the Air and Water Show. Secondly, the onsite manager Coleen was a dream to work with. Flexible and attentive to our needs which made our event that much better. Can not wait to work with her and Loft Lucia again. read more
