Steak Taco and Crispy Fish Taco

I am shocked people love this place so much. The chips lacked salt and the salsa was the consistency of sauce. I prefer a chunky salsa so maybe I'm biased, but it was fine I guess. The tacos though... I get it they are trying to be more creative with flavors but it wasn't for us. And the horchata is a crime against humanity. We admittedly just moved here from Austin so our expectations for Mexican food are high. They say the tortillas are freshly made so I guess that could be true? Overall not a place I would recommend.

The tacos, the creamed elotes even the never ending tortilla chips - everything was delicious. I got the poblano and potato taco. I was surprised when I got it because there were potato chips on it. The crunchiness mixed with the flavor of the poblano was amazing. The fish taco was quite tasty as well. My eating buddy had some kind of steak taco and said it was so good. Everyone who worked there was polite and helpful. This is a small (but big) factor but I appreciate how they have 2 bathrooms and they are just "bathrooms". No need to designate who they are for specifically. Maybe all establishments should follow suit.

Overall an okay experience and apparently this neighborhood isn't known for taco places. The steak in the steak taco was cooked well and the cilantro and onions were fresh. I really enjoyed the corn tortilla too as it was fresh and soft and had good amounts of salt. My blood orange margarita however did not have any sweetness and tasted watered down so I wish I had got the rosemary one instead which was bubbly and sweeter. The guacamole was too bitter but the chips were really good and I liked that you could get as many baskets as you wanted for free.

If you're unsure if you should where to get tacos look NO FURTHER!! LOVE antique taco!! The steak is always my fav but this time I tried the shrimp taco also that has fried kale & cauliflower on it. Yummmmmm!! Still my fav is always the steak taco 12/10! UGH I LOVE you antique taco!!! Even the chips are INCREDIBLE! Made in house with the perfect thickness, crunch & salt Don't forget the salsa! Omg I could drink it!! It's different from most traditional red salsas as it's a lil more creamy and wayyyy more flavorful than most! We spent $43 for 5 tacos and a bag of chips. Enjoyed our tacos el fresco on their cute lil patio outside. While I find the tacos to be a lillll on the expensive side, I can't be upset because they are super filling. The meat quality always seems to be good & they don't skimp on the protein portion! Also I love knowing I am supporting local. PLUS these tacos aren't super greasy and don't make me feel ill after !! Thank you Antique Taco for existing! From a taco connoisseur

Great tacos, fantastic seafood flautas, good atmosphere, great for solo diners or groups, quick service after you order.

We stopped at Antique taco during the Wicker Park street fest because they had a lot of outdoor seating! And even though it was crazy busy because of the fest, everything came out super fast. You order at the counter and then they'll bring your food out to you! They only had one vegetarian taco on the menu, the potato and poblano. I loved the crunch from the chips on this one! However when I was ordering, there was a sign for a mushroom taco, so I got that too! The mushroom was definitely my favorite. They were cooked in what tasted like a creamy garlic sauce that was really good. They're a little pricey for one taco, especially for the veggie ones, but overall it was a good spot for a quick dinner.

This place has a nice vibe and is a fun spot to bring friends for a few drinks or a meal. It's one of those spots with a menu that is on the smaller side but everything they do is top notch. The margs here are awesome and innovative. Chips and guacamole are fresh and flavorful. Tacos are solid and innovative (chicken curry taco!) albeit a bit on the pricey side. The fried chicken burrito was out of this world and hit the sweet spot on my palate - huge savory flavor blast! This place is a wicker park staple and has probably been reviewed a thousand times, but they are still killing the taco game (better than big star )

As a Los Angeles native I was really looking forward to trying tacos on the visit to Chicago after seeing a bunch of tv shows referencing the good Mexican food here. Antique taco was yummy. I tried the pork taco and the steak taco. I was very surprised that I preferred the pork, it's flavor profile was just amazing. I also tried the guacamole and agua fresca which were very good. I would come back and see what the other tacos have to offer.

I have been here at least a half dozen times and am shocked its taken me so long to write a review! Antique Taco is by far my fave taco joint in the neighborhood. The absolute best crispy fish taco I've ever had!! I've tried a few of their others (shrimp, steak, pork) but always go back to the crispy fish taco. The tacos are a little pricey in the $4-7 range but they are fresh and full of flavor so worth the splurge in my opinion. If you are dining in they offer complimentary chips and salsa (with free refills) which is awesome! I recommend the guac as well, its delicious. For drinks I usually stick with their rosemary margarita but they have a few other offerings as well. My husband tried the chicken burrito and really enjoyed it as well. The portion was generous for the price and he had leftovers. Great happy hour specials Monday-Thursday as well!

Antique Taco is a walk up style taco joint located in Wicker Park. Because of its counter service style you're free to mix and match taco types to your hearts content. The menu has a variety of meat and non-meat bases, all of which were tasty. The space is brightly lit and features some locally crafted goods for purchase as well. This is the perfect place to drop in if you're looking for a quick bite that's a step above your standard fast food or fast casual joint.

With an intimate ambiance, in Chicago's Fulton Market, Bisous brings the vibe of a 1960s Parisian cocktail lounge. Since they don't take reservations, I had a short wait at the door. Somehow, they knew exactly what I wanted, which was a seat at the bar. My favorite place to sip, exhaole, and chat with the bartenders. Imagine my shock when we didn't even make it past the bouncer because he was so rude, AS OTHER RECENT REVIEWS HAVE MENTIONED AS WELL! We had dinner nearby and walked to Bisous after, and saw there was a line of 5 or 6 people outside. We expected this as we knew Bisous is a first come, first serve bar. We were curious what the wait time would look like, so we approached the front door to ask a host or employee inside (we assumed there'd be a desk with an employee working it who could give us a wait time). We had no problem waiting, just wanted to see how long they estimated it would be! Before we could even fully open the door, the bouncer swung the door open from the other side and hit me with the door. I stumbled back a few steps and he looked at us and said, and I quote, "What do you want?". I laughed at first because I thought he was joking and putting on a tough guy act. He was not. We quickly explained we just wanted to see what the wait time was, and he said "don't you see there's a line outside?" We said yes, and explained we just wanted to know a rough estimated wait time. He just blankly stared at us while ushering us out. Both my boyfriend and I have worked in customer-service roles for a very, very long time. This encounter was not only extremely rude and unprofessional, but he also hit me hard enough with the door to send me stumbling back, and then said nothing about it and continued to address us in a tone that was nothing less than annoyed and irritated. We didn't end up going inside because that encounter left such a bad taste in our mouths. I don't believe in spending my money at establishments that don't treat their customers with the bare minimum respect they deserve! Bummed we didn't get to experience it, as I'm sure it was lovely inside and I can only hope the rest of the employees were much more kind and accommodating, or at least able to answer a simple question. Fire your "bouncer" (??) and hire someone with some basic customer service and communication skills!!

We shared oysters, the crab dip, and tuna tartare. The oysters were alright. The crab dip was funky. It was a bit fishy and maybe too heavy on the dill? I'm not sure but something was a bit off. I ordered the horchata 2 ways cocktail which was $12 for haply hour and is typically $16. $12 is the highest amount for a happy hour cocktail that I have ever paid and I dont think it was worth it. The 1st sip was good but it was a very sweet drink and I was over it by the end. The drink also was half a very heavy cream so when you drank it you were drinking the liquid but not getting much of the cream. So you either had to lick the cream off the top or drink on the liquid and then either leave the cream or somehow scoop it out with your tongue so not really a well conceived cocktail. One of the fun and unique things about the bar is they bring out free tapas every once in a while similar to bars in Spain. They brought out edamame to the people at the bar right around 5pm and a group next to me asked at around 530pm if more tapas would come out and the bar person said the come out every 45 mins. I was there til around 630pm and another round of tapas never came out so do not expect that if you go. They did not give you water unless you specific ask for it which I though was odd, I heard 3 groups besides myself at the bar who had to ask for water, especially since this is supposed to be a nice cocktail bar and this is just one of my pet peeves but the water did not contain ice and was closer to room temperature which is not how I enjoy my water. Despite not being super crowded I had to ask for the check from 2 different people and it took 15 mins for them to bring it so if it is crowded I expect they will have pretty slow service. They do bring you a fortune cookie woth your check where you can potentially win a discount on your check or other prizes which is fun. Unfortunately the fortune cookie tastes a bit stale. I would say that this place is not worth it for happy hour but it had a cool but very dark vibe in there so it might be good for a romantic date depending on how good the food is.

Scotch, blanco tequila, sochu, carrot, snap pea, ginger, and kukicha. Sounds bizarre as hell, but it absolutely works. I also had a 'Final Say,' a spin on a classic featuring gin, clementine, fino, galliano, turmeric, black pepper, and lemon. The 'I Can't Believe It's Beer' has everything from mezcal and rooibos tea to guava and an aperitivo. I could ramble on about their menu, but I'd say just check Truce out yourself.
