The place was half full and the staff was very friendly. You order at the counter, they give you a number and deliver the food to your table. My wife ordered their Skirt Steak taco and their Sweet & Spicy chicken taco. The skirt steak came with roasted tomato salsa, arugula, queso, lime and cilantro. I'm sorry but what the hell is arugula doing on a taco? The chicken taco came with honey yogurt, cucumber, jalapeño, onion and mint. I get it. Im all for reinventing traditional dishes and perhaps making them healthier but this ain't it. The steak wasn't seasoned right, the any flavor the chicken had was hiding behind the mint and the cucumber. I ordered their Fried Chicken Burrito. This was a little better, but it also had arugula. The "tres queso" was like melted cheese. I thought it was going to come with a more traditional queso sauce. The habanero hot sauce was non existent. Anything habanero should always pack some heat. I'm obsessed with habanero. And trust me, I tried hard looking for it, it was not there. No heat. IIt also came potato chips on the side. Nobody is craving potato chips with their damn burrito man. I am shocked people love this place so much. The chips lacked salt and the salsa was the consistency of sauce. I prefer a chunky salsa so maybe I'm biased, but it was fine I guess. The tacos though... I get it they are trying to be more creative with flavors but it wasn't for us. And the horchata is a crime against humanity. We admittedly just moved here from Austin so our expectations for Mexican food are high. They say the tortillas are freshly made so I guess that could be true? Everyone who worked there was polite and helpful. This is a small (but big) factor but I appreciate how they have 2 bathrooms and they are just "bathrooms". Overall an okay experience and apparently this neighborhood isn't known for taco places. The steak in the steak taco was cooked well and the cilantro and onions were fresh. I really enjoyed the corn tortilla too as it was fresh and soft and had good amounts of salt. My blood orange margarita however did not have any sweetness and tasted watered down so I wish I had got the rosemary one instead which was bubbly and sweeter. Antique taco has a lot of interesting flavors that please the palate. The cucumber mint margarita was tasty and refreshing. I would not recommend if you're looking for traditional Mexican cuisine but rather a more pricey place with experimental flavors. Nonetheless, I enjoyed every bite. We stopped at Antique taco during the Wicker Park street fest because they had a lot of outdoor seating! And even though it was crazy busy because of the fest, everything came out super fast. You order at the counter and then they'll bring your food out to you! They only had one vegetarian taco on the menu, the potato and poblano. I loved the crunch from the chips on this one! However when I was ordering, there was a sign for a mushroom taco, so I got that too! The mushroom was definitely my favorite. They were cooked in what tasted like a creamy garlic sauce that was really good. The absolute best crispy fish taco I've ever had!! I've tried a few of their others (shrimp, steak, pork) but always go back to the crispy fish taco. The tacos are a little pricey in the $4-7 range but they are fresh and full of flavor so worth the splurge in my opinion. If you are dining in they offer complimentary chips and salsa (with free refills) which is awesome! I recommend the guac as well, its delicious. For drinks I usually stick with their rosemary margarita but they have a few other offerings as well. My husband tried the chicken burrito and really enjoyed it as well. I had almost forgotten how good their tacos were - the two tacos on corn tortillas I ate were scrumptious. The pork carnitas taco was an absolute flavor bomb, a bit zingy and savory and sweet with bacon, avocado, spinach, onion and cheese. I'd get this taco again in a heartbeat. I often do not get a steak taco at a taco joint since the meat can often be chewy or stringy. The skirt steak taco was very yummy with cilantro, arugula, onion, tomato and cheese. The thinly cut slices of steak were tender and tasty indeed. The tacos are not cheap, but when they are this delicious then Antique Taco is a worthy splurge. read more

It was well appointed. The food: Guacamole and chips: the chips were good. So was the guacamole, except for being a little bland. It might have had a little more spicy. The salsa: very good salsa roja. Fried Chicken Burrito: mixed reviews from the two who ordered it. One loved it and the other, not so much. Shrimp tacos: ordered by someone else at our table who said she should have gotten something else. Carnitas taco: the tortilla was very soft and cold. The meat, however, was very good. Blood Orange Margarita: clearly made from a mix and served in a plastic cup. Not what I expected but it wasn't bad. So, mixed review for Antique tacos. It's a bare bones place. You order pay and tip first. They bring your order to you. We had six tacos and their limited choice of margaritas. The drinks were on tap and full of ice. I would pass on these. Some of the tacos were good. Best was potato poblano, 2) shrimp taco meaty and tasty. 3) steak nothing special 4) chicken meh 5) carnitas was the worst way too sweet. They have home made corn tortillas but they only use one on the tacos which are small. When you try to eat your taco it just becomes finger food the tortilla just dissipates mixed in the taco. The crispy fish actually ended up being my favorite! I loved how the smoked cabbage complimented the the fish (that was ACTUALLY crispy). The steak taco had a lot of good flavor too and I loved the queso that came on it. The tacos are decently sized, but at $5(ish) a taco, the price is definitely up there. The quality of ingredients definitely makes it worth it in my opinion though! My husband got the fried chicken burrito. He LOVED it and has brought up going back multiple times since sunday LOL. I kept stealing the chips the burrito was served with because they were so tasty. Since we were in and out pretty quick, we didn't get the chance to try some other menu items. The chili cheese curds sounded good, but actually surpassed the expectations. The chili was amazing and the cheese curds were crispy on the outside and melty inside, just couldn't stop eating them. My youngest got the fish taco which an enormous piece of perfectly fried cod that she loved. But back to the burrito, the blend of flavors in this burrito were just perfect. The crispy chicken is perfect and the habanero salsa gives it just the right kick and the black beans and cream round it perfectly. Oh and the chips that come with it are phenomenal, freshly fried and sprinkled with spices that just makes them irresistible. It was a little pricey, but you definitely tasted the quality. Antique Taco did a wonderful job catering my wife and my 35-person wedding. It was very easy to place the order and correspond with Phil about changes to the order. They have two locations, Bridgeport and Wicker Park, and can deliver over a fairly wide area. We ended up ordering 5 types of tacos (Chicken, Steak, Market Mushroom, Potato & Poblano, and Pork), plus Chilaquiles, and chips and Guacamole, which were all delicious. It was also great that they have vegetarian taco options (e.g., Potato & Poblano) and vegan taco options (e.g., Market Mushroom). The guests loved the food, and the delivery and setup were very smooth, easy, and clean.
