I received truly disgusting treatment by "management" of The Herb Center, today. I made a purchase that came out to $65 total. I used my debit card, entered my pin, and the transaction completed- except a receipt didn't come out. The machine froze. So the person I worked with restarted the machine - and ran transactions. I checked my account before even leaving the counter, and I saw i was charged twice. I asked for a refund on one of the charge s. Working for a bank, I KNOW that I was charged twice. The person said no. I politely said I'd rather not take any items and be on my way with the refund for the items I paid for. He told me he couldn't give me any sort of refund, and that I'd just have to leave empty handed, and having spent now $130 total (ON NOTHING). I asked to speak to the manager. The guy left, I'm assuming talked bad about me to the manager, because then 2 more guys came out and asked me what was "wrong with my card" really rudely. I said it wasn't my card, and explained that their machine glitched at the receipt stage and that I was charge twice. One "manager" cut me off before I could finish speaking and demanded I show him the transactions. I showed him I was double charged. He continued getting more rude, lots of attitude, and insisted that I wasn't getting my money back for anything because "they just can't." Meanwhile, the red headed "manager" was walking the initial clerk I worked with through the process of how to give me my money back! I said this is all I wanted. The other "manager" that was rude and told me I couldn't get anything back, stormed off, cussing me out and calling my homophobic slurs under his breath. Even though I got SOME money back, I didn't even get one transactions worth of money back because of their "non-refundable machine fees." I work for a bank, and am president of a local nonprofit that has worked with The Herb Center in the past on different promotional events. As a Queer, BIPOC person of this community for 7+ years- I DO NOT EVER recommend going anywhere near The Herb Center for literally ANYTHING. Substance is literally less that 300-400 feet up the street, WAY MORE PROFESSIONAL AND CONSIDERATE customer service. I know the manager and the workers there by name, and they always make sure you're getting the best for your money. Luckily I was able to stop by Substance and still get what I needed so my night wasn't completely ruined and I didn't have to spend it in pain. read more

What happened to this place? I went in on a Friday and the place was empty. I might know why now. Tried to exchange a cartridge. After waiting 10 minutes for the computer to figure it out I was told that will be $6.00. Excuse me? Do you not understand how an exchange works? I was told it was because I bought it on a Tuesday when it was on sale but was exchanging it on a different day of the week. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I've been to many cannabis centers in Bend and found Found Caleb at the Herb Center was not only extremely knowledgeable and professional but also very caring and compassionate. I had been to the herb center in the past and didn't care for the service I received. The woman I worked with seemed annoyed to be answering my questions. I've been waited on by the same woman twice and she is rude and condescending. As I read other posts I'm finding others have had the same experience with the women there. Not sure why. They may need training or an attitude adjustment. As I was walking out I spoke with Caleb and he totally turned my perception of the Herb Center around. He was engaging and genuinely interested in proving me with exactly what I needed. Then I asked about pet meds and he referred me to Simply CBD and they took care of me as well. I will definitely go back to the Herb Center but only if Caleb is there to help me. read more

I have been so many dispensary's around the US, and by far ( I've received shitty customer service before) the way an employee treated me today for wanting to return a 66$ select cartridge for the plug at the bottom falling out and leaking all the oil. She told me to just put the plug back in and call it good, until I reminder her that select has no questions asked guarantee on their products. Never spending my money here again when their employees are so rude. Definitely recommending against buying here to my friends as well. This review is based on quite a few visits over several years, dating back to when it was medical only-- on to our present day. I've always hated this place! I wanted to like it, I gave it many tries. Here are 5 very good reasons why I will never come back: 5 things that I don't think will EVER change about this place: 1) their jars have cedar-lined lids. Nothing asorbs aromas quicker, or more efficiently than cedar-- except maybe baking soda? Seems like a no-brainer NOT to use anything that's going to leach out delicate teprenes and make herb lose its aroma, right?? LOL! 2) menu prices are often incorrect, and menu is rarely updated. Countless times I've been baited with great prices on popular commercial herb, only to be told it was a mistake in pricing once I got there-- it happened way too often, and never once was I offered ANYTHING for my trouble-- despite the hour drive I made each time. Upon asking them if they could update their menu, I received excuses, jokes, and fairly rude comments on occasion in reply...which brings me to reason #3) Rude, and immature employees...it can happen anywhere, but happens here with annoyingly high frequency! And these immature girls are getting upset at me because I'm asking them if they can please update their menu on leafly-- you know; SOMETHING THEY GET PAID TO DO?!? 4) Sex discrimination. Notice I referred to the "girls?" who work there? That's because they do not hire men. This place has some of the RUDEST and most unhelpful people behind the counter I've ever experienced in a dispensary and the customer service is non existent. You can never ever order online because no matter what they Will inevitably get your order wrong and not to mention if they are out of one thing they will replace it with "a comparable high" when it's much more expensive then what you had originally ordered. The labels and the percentages on the items are not even close to being right honestly it's crazy how little knowledge these people have about their own products. I loved going to thc. Good deals. However, I had to stop going to the herb center because recently, two employees who had no connection to my neice, only that she had been a customer and they knew other customers who were friends with her, started circulating her mugshot from her duii. They saw the mugshot, matched her name to her profile at thc and sent the mugshot to the customers who knew her. Shannon and Jessi seem to be more focused on the gossip then the job. This was completely humiliating and absolutely stepping over the boundaries of customer service. This really is unfortunate, she is an ommp card holder and recalls many occasions where when her and I would show up, 90% of the employees would flock to the other room where she could hear whispers and gossip about her. The only 2 employees that treated her with respect were demetri (I know the spelling is wrong) and demetri's sibling who works there as well. The issue got so bad that we would both call ahead of time in hopes that demetri would answer and let us know if it was a suitable situation for us to come in. Let me enforce that we came in, sat quietly, bought our product and left every time. I stand firm in that we did nothing to be targeted like this. It is all ready shameful enough that my neice is dealing with this and to have those 2 employees (shannon and jessi) go out of there way to do this was more then we could bare, as customers. I am trying to reach out to management, let me reiterate that other then this issue, the are wonderful at thc but this was enough to ensure that I wont be returning while the "mean girl" atmoshere at thc is lifted. read more

OK, so Ive been in 4 times. The 1st time the young girl looked at me like I should already have or know the answers to any questions I may have, and treated me as if it was annoying to answer any of those questions. She also appeared to be so frantic/spastic in her thoughts I thought "wow what a meth-head". I bought a prepacked eighth which was sub-par at best. The 2nd time I went in a different/the same girl, (I got handed off much to my dread.) was nicer in general but not helpful at all in pointing me to any product that I wanted. The 3rd time I visited had looked online, went at an odd time. I got what I wanted rather quickly, but the bud-tender still seemed stressed and unattentive. The 4th time I didn't speak to anyone because I waited in line for over 20 minutes, (which would be OK if the line had moved AT ALL, there were only 5 people in the store.) before I turned and walked out.
