This place replaced another food truck at my job one day and it was such a pleasant surprise. The El Chimi burger - which I'm not sure if it was the Dominican seasoning or what but that burger was one of the best I've ever had. The cabbage was a good twist because I never would've thought cabbage instead of lettuce but it was a good touch the mayo was good as well. The Fried plantain fries really good. I can't wait to come across this food truck again.

The Heights is a nice reminder of home. Coming from Florida, I miss local West Indies food. I wish I could buy the guava sauce in a bottle. As a pescetarian, I only have the rice and beans with plantains. The food was very warm, well seasoned, and delicious. I hope the Heights returns to my apartment complex soon! Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

This food truck is a gem. The food is absolutely amazing and authentic. It reminds me of our trip to the Dominican Republic. We initially visited to try the Mangu. It was delicious. The green plantains and sausage went very well together. You must pair it with the fried cheese squares with guava sauce. The fried cheese squares had the most thin and crispy outer fried shell was the best vehicle for the sweet and savory guava sauce. We were very surprised by the sauce. We could not waste a single drop. If the two dishes were not enough, we then had to try the main dish. If you were to measure good quality by the amount of food you get, this dish sets the bar high. The food truck is owned by a family. We could tell why the food was so homey feeling. If you had a long day or need a taste of home cooking, this is the place to go to. The service was phenomenal and it was the highlight food truck of the night at the Raleigh food truck rodeo.

I just had The Heights food truck at Vicious Fishes in Angier. We only ordered the Fried Cheese with a Guava dipping sauce and they were delicious. Honestly the fried cheese had such good flavor it didn't need the sauce but them paired together is a perfect match. I cannot wait to find this food truck again and taste the rest of their menu!

Today, The Heights Dominican Kitchen brought their tropical flavors to Dirt Bag Ales and delighted our community with a twist and a big pinch of Caribbean cousin. A must, wether you are in Hope Mills and the Fort Bragg/Fayetteville, NC area or at their home town, Raleigh, NC.

Fried chicken chunk meal (chicharon), fried cheese with guava, and plantain fries. Delicious!

Delicious Dominican food and great service. Love the fried cheese with guava sauce. I've never had it served like this and it is a nice spin on authentic Dominican flavors. Also, the plantain fries were a nice touch. Somewhat between a tostone and a French fry. Would have never thought to serve plantains this way!

Delicious chicken tacos

This food truck really hit the spot for us. They were parked at Lonerider brewing and we fly out tomorrow morning after a week at the outer banks. We wanted to relax and hit a local brewery and we're pleased to see this food truck parked outside! We ordered the chicken tacos which were filling and flavorful with plantains, beans, pico and cilantro. I love cilantro on tacos...this was so tasty! I highly recommend this truck!

There's a couple free to play arcade game machines in the corner which is also quite some fun, in addition to the fridges lining the far wall with plenty of fun classic glass bottle sodas and juices. The space is quite clean and decor is fun. The pretzels themself are fantastic, plenty of options for both sweet or savory fillings, and even some plain ones that you can dip into their plethora of sauces. The stuffed pretzels are filled generously, and everything we tried tasted incredible, especially since they were all made fresh to order. Even with this the service was very efficient, and staff were all friendly. The pricing may seem a tad high at first for a pretzel, but each one can easily be a full meal and as such they start making much more sense and are frankly very reasonable. Would highly recommend, and will absolutely be returning.

Was very salty and the flavor seemed off slightly but overall decent. The yuca fries were a good choice with the dipping sauce that comes with it. The space inside is spacious with plenty of seats when we went. The staff is friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. You can also order online to go. For parking, you can park on the street or deck parking. Prices were slightly higher than expected but appropriate for downtown Durham. Overall, a cool restaurant with a variety of options. Unsure if I will come back but recommend trying it if you are in the area.

Started with the pernil mallorca melt... mouthwatering pork roast, slow-cooked & fork tender, on sweet-ish mallorca bread with melted cheese and a spoonful or two of the pork juices. Excellent. Next, a Cuban sandwich. The same pork roast, this time with as slice of ham, Swiss cheese and sliced pickles, slathered with mustard on pressed mallorca bread. A great rendition of a Tampa-style Cuban but missing that Cuban bread. Also tried a trio of empanadas. The beef is a hearty mix of chunky beef, well spiced, juicy and tender. The chicken is chunks of white meat, with slivers of carrots and other vegetables. A little more bland than the beef, but still flavorful, moist and tender. Each was ensconsed in a traditional half moon pastry and fried deep, golden brown. Not at all greasy, these were crunchy, savory and delicious. Honorable mention to the s'mores empanada. The same half moon pastry, stuffed with chocolate, marshmallow and graham cracker, then deep fried. WAY better than your standard cookout s'mores; these were decadent and sweet. The perfect dessert to top off the meal. Be on the lookout for this food truck. Really good food - fresh and delicious.

The meat really did taste as if it was refried or the grease was old. Definitely wasn't fresh. The macaroni and cheese was just noodles and cheese, no flavor. The yams were stringy. The turkey collards were the only thing I enjoyed. The "cake" was honestly a mini portion of a store bought pound cake. I felt totally ripped off when I could've dinned in elsewhere for a completely different experience for $30. The staff was very nonchalant when I introduced myself as a first time customer asking for suggestions. There aren't many designated soul food places in Raleigh and I feel like this is totally a missed opportunity and it's unfortunate because I drove almost 30 min each way just for them.
