Excellent food with a creative touch on the dressings and starters. The beers didn't quite meet up to their European counterparts (Weizen too light and headless porter) but the place is great. Roomy, modern, with an urban flair. Would definitely recommend a visit. read more

This is my families "go-to" restaurant for birthday & other special celebration suppers or lunches. The atmosphere is really trendy and different compared to literally any other place you could eat at in Cranbrook so its a nice change from the usual boring place this town has to offer, I would go as far as to say this is "THE" best place to eat in Cranbrook actually and the prices are not too high, the food is delicious , especially the deep fried pickles, Yummy, and I will be back most definitely , in fact now after writing about it I really wish it was open so I could go eat there right now !! I guess I will have to wait till the morning but that's ok, I shouldn't be eating anything after midnight anyways ! read more

One of the better pubs in town, the food is amazing, I kever have any complaints there. Their appetizer menu is spot on. The biggest downfall to this restaurant is they are a little bit understaffed, and as such it usually takes a while to get attention from your server. On occasion I've had the restaurants owner come to our table to check on us, which normally would be great, but she does it in a hasty manner like she has better things to be doing. She never appears very happy to be checking tables, or being in the floor at all, seeming happy and cheerful is a huge part of giving the guests thw best dinning experience. read more

If I lived in Cranbrook I would eat here regularly. Spotlessly clean and a great menu. Had the double burger. Should have taken a picture of it but just dove in and started eating. Will have to return and do it all again. Don't miss this place. read more

Had lunch here with a few people the other day, seemed very busy.First time visiting, was very pleased and will definitely stop by again ! Fish tacos were great, service was good for it being a busy busy restaurant. Lots of good food choices Available. Kids are allowed at a sectioned off restaurant side , the other side is a pub. The only complaint i heard at my table was about the water tasting awful. read more

We found this place on Yelp. What a great find! My wife had the pasta dish with shrimp added and it was perfect. I had the special that night and it was also excellent. It was an 8 oz strip steak on a bed of especially good salad. The steak was perfectly cooked and very tender. What really made the meal one of the best of our trip was our waitress. She was very helpful and friendly. Even though she was quite busy she spent time talking to us about Cranbrook and our three week vacation most of which was in Canada. This was one of the best restaurants of our trip. read more

I may have experienced it on a bad day but the trendy/ambitious dishes didn't all come off and the service we experienced was subpar. I want this place to succeed but it needs to improve to earn 4 stars. The beer was good [our table had a Pale Ales and stouts and a Radler]. The food had the following complaints: 1. they seem to use the same stir fry mix as the vegetables on all dishes which in our case included overcooked brussels sprouts, which didn't pair very well with some of the items we ordered, 2. the fish and chips were overbreaded and the breading wasn't fully crisp which caused both people that ordered it to not finish. The burger was pretty good although mine had a bok choy leaf on it that was overly hard to chew in its raw form. read more

This restaurant rocks!! Had a small problem with a dinner, but Executive Chef Rusty Cox did everything in his power to fix it, and then went above and beyond in making us happy. We felt spoiled by his concern, as they were trying a new menu and he appreciated our honest assessment. Desserts were spectacular!! And we LOVED the specialty peppered ale! The Heid Out was a great place to be for a bite out when we overnighted in Cranbrook. Right downtown, it was easily accessible and there was ample street parking close by (free after 6:00 pm). The establishment was really busy for a Monday evening and that was a positive sign. The staff were very attentive and took the time to chat with us when engaged. The steak sandwich was done to a true medium rare as requested and when asked if the sweet potato fries were crisp, our server ensured me she'd make the request for "crispy" fries. They were done perfectly, far from the flacid sweet potato fries, one often gets at other places. Their shaved beef dip was extremely flavourful with just the right amount of cheese and not to salty bouillon dip. Presentation was good and once our order went in, the wait was only about 10 minutes, even though it was near a full house. The side salad was fresh and appealing. We'd love to check out their starters next time as well. We will definitely return for another visit next time we go to Cranbrook! read more

I eat here frequently, and I've only had one meal I didn't care for (yorkshire puddings with shaved prime rib - mine were burnt). I didn't say anything, but I have no doubt if I had, they would have taken it back and made it right - their service is awesome. Aside from that one instance, the food has been exceptional. Awesome flavours, the best spatzle I've ever had and drool-worthy seasoning in their white wine sauce. They have a lot more creativity in their dishes than most other restaurants in Cranbrook. read more
