Came to the Heid Out for dinner on a Friday night while I was passing through Cranbrook. What a lovely place! They brew their own beer and there's a great selection. I chose a lighter beer that the server recommended. It tasted crisp, refreshing and delicious. Wasn't as impressed with the Tuna Poke Bowl though. It was ate really mushy. The rice noodles were overcooked and there was very little tuna pieces. It was missing some spice...wasabi. I would give it a three star at best. Service was great and the view was beautiful...I could see the mountains from my table. I may give this place another try when I'm passing through again. Gave it four stars due to the great service and ambiance.

Best food, best beer! Great atmosphere. Awesome customer service. Never a bad meal. Attention to detail and ambience.

Good selection of quality beers, but what makes this place really shine is the food. You can't go wrong with thPan Seared Haida Gwaii Halibut, the Salmon Sandwich, or the Pike Bowl. Other tables had wraps, and they also looked great. Prices are a little high, but quality and quantity offset the sticker shock, somewhat.

Flight o beer! Yummy!!

This was your average looking pub with pub grub and beer. But the beer was fantastic! Great selection, picked up a six pack for later. Prices were reasonable and the staff were friendly. What more do you need?

Manchurian cabbage wrap with house salad (vegan)

We were passing through town en route to Fernie. This was on my list of breweries to visit on the trip, and when I saw they had a special vegan menu, we knew we had to eat lunch here too. First, the beer: 10 beers on tap, with flights of 4 x 5 oz pours for only $6.25, a great deal. Beer quality is pretty mediocre, with their Scottish Ale being the standout. Second, the food: we both got the Manchurian cabbage wrap, which comes with marinated fried vegetable balls with a delectable sauce, and a nice array of veggies - with choice of side (soup, if vegan, salad, or fries) - for $16. Very tasty wraps. Service was very friendly. All in all, glad we stopped here.

Jimmy's Pub & Grill - Pasta Alfredo with vegetables, good garlic bread too

This place is connected to a hotel in the original part of Creston quite a ways from our hotel on…read morethe edge of town. It's well worth the drive with plenty of parking on the street and close by. It's not a quiet place, being a pub, but doubly so when the Jays are playing the Yankees in the ALDS up two nothing and 12 runs having been scored in the first four innings. If you're looking for peace and quiet go elsewhere. It's an interesting place, with plenty of charisma. The staff writer as great, helpful and accommodating of perhaps a little prone to tending the tables instead of us at the bar. That said we didn't feel neglected at all even though we were left pretty much alone after our food was dropped. My chicken souvlaki was quite good, with big chunks of chicken breast that was very nicely cooked, not dry at all, not easy to accomplish. The potato and rice pilaf was also very good, as was the tzatziki and the pita. Solid meal! The lovely K had the Veggie Alfredo with Caesar salad and garlic bread which was plentiful, piping hot and tasty. The salad we shared was shaved romaine with diced red onion, dill and apple cider vinaigrette. It didn't sound good to me, but we ordered it anyway, and it was really good. Would we go back, hell ya!!
