Went there for breakfast and it was everything we had been told it was. Home cooked feel and great coffee.

The restaurant looks fairly new; it looks like a new location according to other reviews. They have lots of indoor and outdoor seating; wish there were fans outside as it was pretty hot yesterday. The staff was super friendly as they left a water bowl by our seat for my pup. We ordered their non alcoholic drinks: Portland Rain and Virgin Margarita with Passion Fruit. It was quite refreshing with the summer heat. Personally, I like the Portland Rain/kiwi lemonade. For food, we ordered cod Fritters, braised oxtail and French fried chicken. The cod fritters reminded me of oyster pancakes from Taiwan with the chewy and doughy texture. You can't quite taste the cod because it's all blended inside the fritter mix but I like flavor and it's filling for an appetizer. The braised oxtail fell right off the bone. It was delicious but I wish there was more Jamaican heat or seasoning to it. The coconut rice was good; I'm usually not a fan of coconut but their rice gives the aroma of coconut without being too powering in flavor. The fried chicken was amazing and I like the herbs they used, which makes it stand out from the Southern style fried chicken. The sauce that came with the fried chicken was unique, and has a sweet taste to it. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is staying in the area or visiting.

Wow good thing I was seated because it was delicious and they didn't skimp on the rum. Really friendly staff too. Overall a great dining experience, highly recommend.

Our server was also the owner and he is an absolutely charming man with a great sense of humour. He took very good care of us. It was almost like eating at a friend's home. I had the breakfast special 2 slices of bacon, sausage or ham, 2 eggs, 2 pieces of toast and hashed brown potatoes for $6.99. My husband had a build you own omelette. All the food was excellent, the bacon was cooked crisp as requested, hashed brown potatoes were also nice and crisp. My husband's omelette was also very good. Instead of prepackaged jams the breakfast came with home made strawberry/rhubarb jam and marmalade. They were so good that we bought a bottle of the jam to take with us. It is very good value for the money. Thank you for giving us such a great start to our day - Mel and first wife.

I tried one of the homemade jams and it was delicious. I just didn't like how the owner tried to rip us off by overcharging on the kids meal when my kids were clearly under 5. Washrooms are very small; there was no change table so this restaurant isn't exactly 100% kid friendly. Just make sure you pay attention to your bill. The owner also tried to charge a larger bill to the wrong table for the people before us. That is too bad because our server was really friendly and nice. Overcharging us left really a bad taste in my mouth. I would have given this place a 4 out of 5 stars otherwise.
