"There are plenty of places that can hold a 12 person shower in Huntington." WOW! NOT EVEN A PHONE CALL! I have been in the food and hospitality industry for more than 30 years and I have never heard of such a disrespectful failure to produce. Here was an opportunity to expand their business and now there are 16 families plus all the outsiders who will hear about the dismissal of our event. They are nice enough people, however this is not the way to conduct a business. We went to the Tap Room of Jericho. Allison (manager) and Jemile (head chef) are outstanding. What I really appreciated right away was how transparent and knowledgeable the staff is about each cat. Before you start interacting with them, the team walk you through who is who and give you a breakdown of their different temperaments. They clearly point out which cats love attention, head scratches, and lap snuggles, as well as which ones are a bit more independent or prefer not to be petted. Having that guidance makes a huge difference because it ensures both the human visitors and the rescue cats stay happy, safe, and comfortable throughout the session. The cafe side of things is super sweet as well, with fun cat themed drinks, tasty treats, and a cozy atmosphere where you can sip your coffee while watching the cats play. The only small downside and the main reason for giving four stars instead of five is that there was a noticeable odor when you first step into the cat room.
