Went to Tampico with my family on a Saturday afternoon after my brothers graduation. It was…read moresurprisingly quiet for the day (definitely patrons there but not packed and no wait) but we were grateful to get a quick seat! It's a cute space, the music level was right and they offered indoor and outdoor space. We got chips and salsa brought over right away - I'm not a big spice fan and had no issues with the salsa being too spicy, but it was still flavorful. We ordered strawberry margarita pitchers (a pitcher is $19.50 and a single was $7.50 - each pitcher probably had 5-6 margs worth in it, get the pitcher) that were delicious and refreshing! Not too strong but not overly sweet. I got the chicken quesadilla and would highly recommend. A good amount of chicken and the tortilla was not too greasy but well cooked and more crunchy than some quesadillas that can be soggy (still a soft shell). Everyone really enjoyed their food! The portions are a good size and we even had leftovers. Definitely worth checking out if you are in town!

Which was also having their "soft opening". Nothing soft about the warm greetings by everyone working there. A person can go to the coffee bar and get an awesome drink or pick for an assortment to go and make at home. They have many speciality items for gifts, to give or keep yourself. We had a sampling of subs that they have on their fresh made to order section. The gentlemen there were more than happy to have us sample even before the 3:00 time frame. If this was just a sample trust me the subs are delicious and the cold beer sold by the can was a thirst quenching addition.

The two egg toast and hash were average but solid -- nothing that wowed, nothing that disappointed. The outside seating is a different story. AC compressors and industrial fans running nearby made it genuinely uncomfortable to hold a conversation. For a spot with this much charm, the outdoor experience undercuts it badly. Sit inside if you can.

You can sit outside along the river and enjoy the view, or there's indoor seating if you'd rather be inside. The menu has a great variety, the food comes out hot, and the service has always been great in my experience. It's a good option whether you're stopping in for a casual meal or making an evening out of it. On weekend evenings, the atmosphere gets even better with live music and games. One thing to keep in mind is that parking can get a little tricky when they're super busy, especially during popular weekend times. Between the riverfront seating, great food, and fun atmosphere, Boathouse BBQ is definitely a place I'd recommend!

The marinara sauce had chucks of tomatoes in it. I almost gagged. I hate that. Ordered some medium wings to go. They were very good and large wings. So, I gave it a try. It was a good dish, the chicken was good on it, I'm just not a white cheese on Mac kinda guy. I have been back a few more times & sat at the bar. I have to say the service has been impeccable. I will recommend the pretzel bites with beer cheese for munching on at the bar. Stopped in a few nights ago for a beer or two. Ended up getting the bacon chicken wrap to go. I will have to say it was damn good. My wife really likes the buffalo chicken tacos. She has ordered twice in a row. ( that says something ) Also, Amber makes a good Washington Apple (Sprite, Crown Apple & a splash of cranberry). I want to also mention the girl with the long braided hair is a fine bartender also. On 7/6, the bar was full for the USA soccer match. She worked her butt off. She made sure everyone was taken care of. ( she could have used some help) You now have a new customer.
