Today, Noel, Saige and I went to Las Trancas for lunch after Baby Doc checkup! Saige had never been to this location and learned Noel hadn't either. Noel went with Mt Dew a small bowl of cheese sauce and a lunch portion of Vaca Loco...I call it Vaca Laca...but again I'm horrible with words Saige was happy to see they offered Cheese Pizza on kids menu and went with Grape flavored Juice...but was disappointed with the hard microwaved crust and half melted cheese...saving grace was her own bowl of salsa and chips. I chose a Pepsi cold and tall with some chips and salsa and lunch chicken fajitas. I took my left overs home to Tony for his lunch that evening at work. I do want to state I'm from California, Hispanic and go to Mexico often, so I know what good Mexican food is! So when we chose this place in West Virginia, I wasn't expecting much... boy was I surprised! I had the Fajita Quesadilla with beans (instead of rice) and was pleasantly impressed. The service was excellent, my boyfriend mentioned it was my birthday (casually) and at the end of our dinner, all the waiters sang me Happy Birthday and gave me their fried ice cream. I came here during Thanksgiving week when I was visiting family in town. This visit was my first visit here. I got the Carnitas with flour tortillas. The Carnitas were crispy and full of rich flavors. We almost left after waiting more than 30 minutes to even get water. Waiter took our order finally, and we have never waited so long for food. Ordered burrito grande, waiter brought burrito supreme...similar-but spouse wanted the guacamole on the side. So, of course he charged additional for it...which was wrong but he couldn't even bring the correct dish. I ordered the pollo loco, my food has very few veggies, zero squash and a bunch of tomatoes. Spouse ordered a Long Island ice tea...former bartender here-a Long Island tea is 5 shots of liquor (vodka, gin, rum, tequila, and triple sec with sour mix and a splash of coke). I watched our waiter make this cocktail, and he never did a full shot of anything. This chain is my favorite, and we always get piping hot food fast...the wait this time was unbelievable, and then to have it wrong or not right-not good. We ate it, but maybe in hind sight we just should have walked out when he brought the wrong food. We were tired of waiting and we were hungry. I did tell the cashier, and when she started stating that he's usually very good- I just stopped talking. She offered a discount, but I refused. We did eat the food only because we had already waited an hour...and I told her we would eat at the Belpre or Marietta Ohio locations again but would never come back there. I suggested to the cashier that servers should actually write orders down. Never in the history of eating there have I seen a server write anything down. I would also suggest they hire an actual bartender who knows how to mix cocktails. read more

Really, 4.5 stars. This is a great place. One thing of note is its excellent accessibility, including the bathrooms and the patio dining area (yes, covered outdoor tables). The chicken soup (my wife ordered this on both visits here) is very tasty and it has some generous pieces of avocado in it. I have had the Carne asada. The meat was tender and well-spiced. On the second visit I had a carne asada quesadilla, which overflowed with toothsome chunks of beef and which had a nice touch of cheese. The margheritas have a nice agreeable strength. We had a nice lunch today. I had the fajita type meal in a pineapple and it was really tasty. It came out piping hot with soft shells, rice and salad. My husband had fish tacos and even though they did not come as pictured he said they were really good. The service friendly and prompt. Drink refills were provided. read more

This was a beautiful restaurant! The service was wonderful and it was nice and clean. The food wasn't bad, I wish they used fresh mushrooms, not canned. I ordered a thin cut t-bone steak with mushrooms and rice. It was yummy, but would've been better with fresh mushrooms for sure. I ordered a grilled cheese for my son since he's a picky eater. It was kinda okay. The cheese wasn't melted but he enjoyed it. Salsa was so good! Our waitress was awesome. For dessert we got the churros and they were absolutely delicious! read more

Came here because it looked empty. Hostess packed the few people that were here all into one corner of the restaurant. Tables so close we couldn't even fit. Salsa and chips free but salsa is very different. Queso is good though (small bowl). Pricing is a little bit higher than Gran Azteca. I would recommend gran Azteca over this place. Kids menu yes. I've been here three times over the course of six months and each time my service was honestly really bad but today takes the cake. I ordered a taco salad and they told me they don't sell black beans Which is fine I got refried beans, the problem was there was hair in my food. Black hair, it really grossed me out. My husband got a burrito Which he did actually enjoy tho after seeing the hair in my food we couldn't eat anymore. They weren't really that busy today either. The manager offered no apologies or alternative solutions. He just asked if it was one check or two. It's the 2nd time my family has ordered take out from here. The first time I thought it was an accident that the red sauce tasted like cinnamon.... nope it's no accident that put cinnamon on the red sauce. Our dinner for 2 adult 2 kids was 58.00. I didn't even eat mine it was so gross. My husband ordered chips and salsa. Chips were good but the salsa was so hot none of us would eat it. My husband ordered a chicken meal but received beef. I ordered my food to go 1 meal for me and 1 for my wife. I go to pick it up they had 1 for my wife and 2 for me. The lady who took the order wanted to argue with me and tell me I was wrong on what I ordered. So I paid for the extra food that is going on the trash. Great experience! We showed up with baby shower decorations. Requested an area for 20 people. They allowed us to decorate the space, provided an atmosphere that was warm and welcoming.
