Food was great it was worth the wait the service was not the best maybe the should consider letting the waitresses write the orders down instead of having to try to memorize it the waitress forgot out sauce I asked for no tomato and got tomato asked for to go container when our food came out and had to wait twenty minutes and ask someone else she didn't check on us maybe she was having a bad night but luckily the food was great burger seasoned well make how I asked chicken tenders at first by the way they looked I was worried but OMG took one. Bite and AMAZING. FOOD WAS GREAT SERVICE not so good

I am in Kalamazoo for business every now and then and The Hangar Bar is my home away from home. The bartenders always removed me and treat me like a local. Miranda was working today can make a mean Long Island.

First time here. The great and understanding wait Service (Stephanie) was able to mostly over compensate for dinner. The wet burrito came with VERY little burrito sauce or cheese and was served cold. They were attentive to get me warm food and I appreciated the effort. I will probably choose some place else next time.

1st time here. Lots of TV to watch the game. My husband and I decided to stop here for lunch and sat at the bar. We were greeted right away and asked what we would like to drink. Unfortunately most of their draft beers were out or the lines weren't working. I decided to try a Bloody Mary. It was just okay. No spice and not much flavor. We decided to try their cheese fries as an appetizer. Which were very good. We both got their chicken strips that our bartender recommended. They were heavily breaded but the chicken was moist. We didn't finish them because of the breading. Next time we'll stick to the cheese fries.

There was excellent service when I went back in June. But the food wasn't as good. My bun to top of my burger wasn't cooked all the way.

Ask the Community - The Hangar

Me and a group of my friends want to check out this place after we get off our shift, which will be around midnight. Will they card at that hour even if we only want to get food?

The only carding will be at the table if you order, alcohol.

Presentation - 10/10 Taste & Flavor - 10/10 When getting food here you can get a good variety of spicy and savory especially when it comes to their burgers their drinks are made with much care. Nothing is too overpowering Portion Size - 10/10 I have a very small stomach so things tend to fill me up regardless however my husband is an endless pit and the burger seemed to fill him up for the time being. Value for your money? I would say you get a good value and a full meal for the price you're going to pay You get good service especially on a Sunday when there's only a very few people in there and you're just trying to relax. ‍ Service - 10/10 The service in overall 10 out of 10 The bartender was extremely friendly kept a decent conversation going & greeted us when we entered, most of the staff is college students so you know they're working hard when it comes to both school and being servers. Overall Rating: 10/10 Final Verdict: The Old goat tavern is by far place I would return to especially for a quick bite and something that's going to kill me up for a cheap price. We stopped by around 1 PM on a Saturday! It was super busy and packed! I love that it's family-friendly! It was fun seeing all of the kids running around and playing games - there are SO many games (two full rooms) from air hockey to arcades games to darts to duckpin bowling to pinball machines to pool tables - they literally have it all! Our daughter enjoyed playing ALL the games while my husband and I enjoyed our beer flights and waited for our food! Food: Our daughter ordered the Kids Mac and Cheese with Kettle Chips. The mac and cheese was cold and dry and her kettle chips were cold and stale. She did not enjoy her meal at all! I wonder if her food sat out while my husband and I's food was being prepared as my kettle chips were more fresh and actually tasted good! I ordered the Cuban with Kettle Chips. This was probably the best Cuban sandwich I have ever had (and I have had quite a few Cuban sandwiches in my lifetime)! The pork was smoked and absolutely delicious and tender! They were not skimpy on the pork either (like some other restaurants can be when ordering a Cuban sandwich)! The bread was perfectly toasted too! My husband ordered Buffalo Wingdings. These were perfectly smoked and fall-off-the-bone good as well (maybe a little too fall-off-the-bone for a wing though)! However, the chicken wings still tasted great! Drinks: My Flight - Straight Forward, Grandpa's Hard, Bad Adz, BBA Wizard Potion, and Bogged Down. Husband's Flight - Stained Glass, Ripped Right, Bad Add, Rogue Red, and Simco. These were all good and we enjoyed them! We will definitely stop by again if we are ever back in the area!

The business regularly advertises a Free Bowling Wednesday event that takes place every Wednesday…read moreand encourages people to come starting at 4 PM. We arrived exactly at 4 PM after seeing this weekly promotion on social media. Upon arrival, the venue was empty, yet we were completely denied access to bowling due to a private event, and told that no bowling customers would be allowed until 6 PM. Before anything else, I want to clarify an important point: "Free" does not mean customers should be treated poorly. Free events are often meant to introduce people to a business, attract new customers, and create a welcoming first impression. Offering something for free does not justify rude behavior, dismissive communication, or shifting responsibility onto customers. Respect and basic courtesy should apply regardless of whether an event is paid or free. What bothered me most was not being turned away, but the blame-shifting that followed. When a business publicly advertises "Free Bowling Wednesdays" and encourages people to show up at 4 PM, it is reasonable for customers to rely on that information. Adding the word "limited" on social media posts does not communicate that no bowling customers are allowed at all until 6 PM due to a private event. Those are two very different messages. Instead of acknowledging the lack of clear communication, the responsibility was shifted onto us as customers with statements like "you should have called." This is unfair. Customers should not be expected to double-check an advertised public event by phone when no such instruction was mentioned. What made the experience more disappointing was the lack of empathy no apology, no ownership of the confusion, and no attempt to acknowledge how frustrating it is to arrive on time to an empty venue and still be denied entry. This review is not about complaining. It's about accountability. Clear communication and basic courtesy go a long way, and this situation could have been handled very differently with a simple acknowledgment and apology.

As it got busier, our server disappeared more, but we weren't in a hurry. We got the small order of southwest nachos for a snack to share - these were really good. I was kind of surprised at how small the order was honestly, but it was fine to split between the two of us. The chips were crispy, the toppings were plentiful, and I loved the cheesiness.
