Another outstanding job by The Handy Lance. I have a new garage and I selected the original lighting but without much experience with outdoor lighting. Plus, the original builder told me that I shouldn't put a light fixture in the center above the garage door where I wanted it as doing so would undermine the integrity of the support beam. So I got stuck with a weird, off-center flood light that looked awful and I honestly had no use for. I mentioned it to Lance and he suggested a workaround that would allow me to use the existing fixture opening but hide wiring for a new fixture behind a beam so that the new fixture could be centered. It finally looks the way I wanted it! As usual, Lance was super meticulous in building and installation. It looks so good. Lance needs to add magician to his list of skills!! read more

We had a few projects around the house that needed more attention than we could give them. Called up Lance to take a look at a wood flooring transition that was very intricate and nuanced, fitting out a pantry with shelves and new doors, and changing out a few ungrounded outlets in our 1920s bungalow. Lance asked a lot of questions to get a better understanding of the scope of each task and then communicated with us about the material choices and various steps/preferences along the way. He did a great job with the transition and made it fit perfectly. The new pantry has several well-fitting shelves and it's trimmed out nicely (note that we elected to do the painting since the color was TBD). Lance helped us select new LED bathroom ceiling fans for our upstairs and downstairs bathrooms. The fans look modern, provide excellent lighting, and are so quiet. Lance removed our old fans and although he encountered a few challenges with their removal and the installation of the new fans, he worked through those methodically, using his excellent problem-solving skills. We were supposed to have new countertops installed a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, after the old counters, sink and dishwasher were all removed, the installers noticed that our existing cabinets were not level! They weren't able to simply shim the new counters, but instead said we had to get our cabinets leveled and then they could come back and finish the job, leaving us with essentially no kitchen! I had heard about Lance from other friends and reached out to him. He responded very quickly, and despite not having done a project like this before, he quickly understood what needed to be done. He reached out to the installer manager to confirm that his plan would work, and was back within a couple days to level/stabilize our cabinets! We were able to get our counters within a few days!
