Excellent communication! Seriously, hire this guy! I was looking for someone to install an exterior power outlet so I can hang Christmas lights. Chris was responsive and the information on what was needed and the cost was efficiently communicated. We were able to schedule a date and time easily. Day of: he was prompt and time management was efficient. He is also neat and tidy. Everything looks superb and works! I will be hiring him again for other future projects. read more

I called Chris for the removal of a broken over-the-range microwave, and the installation of a kitchen hood. Chris was very responsive, and when he arrived, he saw the scope of the job was much more complex than originally planned.... Upon removing the microwave, he discovered that our kitchen contractor had negligently set up our kitchen venting into our attic, a major fire hazard. Chris took things step by step. He got into our attic, and hooked everything up safely, as it should be, to our roof vent. He also properly secured the new hood, with a clean stainless steel backsplash. Now, our kitchen works as it should, and looks like a dream. No smoke alarms going off when we use the range! And all is safe for the family! Check out the photo. Chris is a true perfectionist. Thank you, Chris! read more

Chris S Repair - Handyman Near Me

I hired Chris to put up a security light for the garage. He planned out how he was going to do it so that there would be less problems during the work itself. I am happy with the work. The garage light works great! I was so happy with his work that I hired him again to add a ceiling can light to my living room. Again - he planned it out in advance, realized there would be a couple ceiling joists that he would have to go through. He put the light in, taking care of the existing ceiling so there would be minimal effects afterwards. read more

Chris fixed the wheels on a patio lounge chair, including some reengineering of the hardware, and set up a patio umbrella for me. Also fixed the closure on an outdoor gate. We were having trouble finding someone to mount an 85" TV on the wall for us and thankfully Chris came to our rescue. He was very responsive over email, showed up on time, and did a great job problem solving with the hardware we had to get the job done. Highly recommend him! read more

Love Chris never disappointed know for 5 years he does excellent work on any project I ask him to do thank you Chris !

Chris returned my message very quickly. The work was not an emergency, but he set up an appointment that same week. I had a bathroom fixture that went out. It had been put in by someone else. Chris determined the work had been substandard and was in fact a fire hazard. He had all the materials and tools to repair the connections and bring them up to code. He then installed the new fixture and even recommended a higher location to provide better lighting in the room. He was very friendly and it was clear he was an expert in his craft. We have a few more projects lined up and will be calling him back. read more

Chris did some small electrical and plumbing repairs for me, expertly and efficiently. He helped me understand what was going on with my breaker box. He suggested a way that my limping old vacuum cleaner might be rigged up to work, if I want to keep it out of the landfill for a little longer. He was extremely friendly and easy to work with. He communicated clearly with me using email, arrived on time and charged me fairly. I highly recommend him. read more

Chris Strohmeyer is a true gem. Such an honest and reliable guy. No job is too small (he repaired our ceiling fan after going to Home Depot to get the part he needed) or too big (he detected a mysterious leak in our family room and replaced the door jam and some wood that had rotted on the roof above.) I love creating a list of repairs from around my house and having Chris spend a day or two checking them off. My house feels like new when he leaves. His brother Greg is a painter--so together, they can really spiff up your house. You will love having Chris Strrohmeyer in your contacts. read more

I absolutely agree with the other reviewers about Chris: * His work is excellent and thorough * He's a great trouble-shooter * He's comfortable and easy to work with * He's punctual and reliable * He responds quickly when you contact him * His rates are super reasonable. One of the things Chris did for us was to move a couple of celing light fixtures to center them in the rooms. If you've ever had this done, you know that holes in the ceiling are hard to patch without leaving some kind of scar. Not so with Chris's repair! He did a masterful job and you can't tell AT ALL that the lights were moved. That is amazing. Chris also did some electrical and carpentry repairs, all of which turned out perfect. I can't recommend him highly enough! read more

Chris Strohmeyer is probably one on the best Handymen/Contractors around. Chris is highly professional, shows up on time, does what he says he's going to do and is honest. Unlike many other uncaring companies out there, you can depend on Chris to do Quality work, and get it right the first time. I think the difference in Chris, is that he really CARES. Chris treats each project as if he were working on his own home, so it's done right. I highly recommend Chris and would be happy to talk to anyone concerning the quality of his work. What a pleasure it is, to finally have a craftsman come into your home that does excellent work throughout. When I called Chris, he was very responsive to my call and was able to come and do the list of items I had made. He didn't hesitate to tackle each one and the most complicated was installing some electrical outdoors. The job had to be given some thought and Chris was able to analyze the situation and come up with the best solution to the problem. He didn't "just do it", but took his time to present the best option and also welcoming any questions we had. The job was meticulously done and the pride that Chris takes in his work shows at the outcome. We couldn't be more pleased with his work and would highly recommend him to family and friends and anyone reading this YELP review. You won't be disappointed and will be thankful you called him. read more

Chris has worked in my home three times now and I highly recommend him. He was referred to me by my neighbor. He is competent, punctual, kind and fair. He has done plumbing & electrical work, installed sliding closet doors, hung a sword rack and fixed our front door. He is a versatile worker and pleasure to do business with. read more

"Handyman" doesn't do Chris or his work justice. Chris is a craftsman. When he does a job it's done beautifully, professionally and with an eye for detail. Chris has done a lot of work for my husband and me - remodeled our kitchen, built a pantry, installed a pocket door, replaced all the interior doors in our house, and numerous other projects over a period of about 10 years. While working on the kitchen he made sure we had a working sink every night and, when he could, a working stove and he cleaned up the work area every night! Amazing! When you are not sure what you want or what would work best Chris will have a suggestion that, more often than not, is just the right thing. He really does care and gives careful thought to every project. He has pride of workmanship. Truthfully, he doesn't want his name connected to anything he can't be proud of. I would hire Chris to do just about any job in my home. read more

Chris has worked for us for 13 years. He is knowledgeable, honest to a fault and a hard worker. Over the years he has torn down a deck, built a huge 75' x 12' deck, installed bookcases & shelves, an ondemand water heater, built a pergula, replaced a cracked tile, put up a ceiling fan, patched walls etc. We trust him to do the best job and he has always delivered. Imagine, a contractor who does a fabulous job AND cleans up after himself! It can't be better. read more

Chris did a terrific job of hanging a 183 lb. chandelier. The instructions were terrible, but he persevered and engineered an attachment bracket that I would trust with my life. I have known and worked with Chris on four different houses and he has never disappointed me! Chris was the only person I would have called due to this chandelier was so large....I have complete trust in him. His rates are fair for what you get, perfection! You are welcome to contact me if you have any questions. read more

Chris is awesome. He's been working with us regularly for five years. We have high standards and are picky about quality and aesthetics. He will take on large projects as well as small repairs, both with the same attention and care, and we know that they'll get done right. He communicates well, is responsive, a problem solver, does excellent work and is trustworthy. We have referred him to family and friends in the area and all have similar glowing reviews. read more

Chris has worked on our house 3 times now and has done an amazing job every time! He is reliable, clean, and very friendly. He completed repairs multiple times where it would have been easier for him to tell us to replace components but instead fixed them: for example, he managed to fix our hot water heater by blowing compressed air through some clogged gas tube when we thought we were going to have to replace parts of the pilot light system. Cannot recommend him enough! read more

Chris did a great job repairing my kitchen cabinets. They were falling off the wall. Currently, they are more secure than ever. He gave me a reasonable estimate of $200 and only charged $125. He completed the job in less time than expected; he arrived promptly at the scheduled time; and he left my kitchen clean and tidy. In addition, he is a really nice guy. He will be back in a couple of weeks to perform repairs in the bathroom. Call Chris if you want a friendly, reliable and thorough carpenter/contractor. read more

I totally agree with everyone's 5 star comments! Chris Strohmeyer is more than a handyman - he's a knowledgeable caring contractor that knows his stuff and treats your home as he would his own! He's clean, thorough, and thinks beyond the task at hand, totally making sure that you get what you want when the job is done! He's worked for us many times over the last 12 years, and worked on the renovation of our home before we owned it, giving him the inside scoop on all the idiosyncrasies of our older home!
