Handy Huckaby agreed to replace a few pieces of siding, replace window flashing, replace a piece of crown, and caulk where needed. However, on the day of repairs I was informed they couldn't do the crown. Ok, we made an agreement to remove that from scope. The remaining work was completed, but wasn't up to standards. Joe, the owner, agreed and we scheduled follow up work. Furthermore, the caulking they did was cracking literally the next day, but was told 'the painters will take care of it.' The siding was cut crooked, putting it in a position where it would be in contact with water. They fixed it. The flashing was installed effectively open to water ingress, but was fixed on a follow up visit. read more

I signed said document and was scheduled for the repair. I received notification that the repairman was out sick and that I would be rescheduled for repair. Had a weird leak from conduit coming into the house. Over the years, water seeped behind OSB and siding. I called half a dozen contractors and was getting crazy estimates. I gotta say, I was a little skeptical because Huckaby has a NICE website, you have to create a log in, request an appointment, etc. Everything was automated and to me I thought - oh no, this place is gonna be EXPENSIVE! Honestly, it tuned out to be the exact opposite. This was the cheapest quote I received. The guys who showed up to do the work were GREAT! Awesome communication and they knew what they were doing. My only disappointment was that I wanted to hire them to do MORE stuff, but they are pretty busy with siding this time of the year. Looks like they fill winter months on Bathrooms and Tile work. At any rate, HUGE win for me, I would absolutely use them again and can't say enough good things to recommend them to others. read more

Was honest in his assessment of what needed to be done to our house which was a whole repaint and caulk and fascia repair which in his estimate would be better served by a professional painter. They said that that would not be an issue. We could leave the paint on the porch and they would complete the job. Joe Huckaby appears to be very knowledgeable and professional. His company sent a proposal to me within a few days of contact. I emailed back approval and a date was set for the project to begin. On that day, Joe didn't have a ladder tall enough. He said his schedule was very tight and that he would get back to me. That was several weeks ago. I have left voice messages, sent emails and text messages. Joe has not responded. This is very unprofessional. It left me with a very unhappy homeowner and scrambling to find another contractor. Absolutely HORRIBLE! I contacted Joe in mid July to install an exhaust fan in my kitchen. He came over and within a few days provided me with a quote. Great! After approving the work order it took a number of weeks to get a hold of Joe to get on the schedule. Its summer time, busy time of the year, great, I get it. Around August 20th Joe came over to start the demo for the fan installation. We were missing a few of the venting parts needed to complete the job so Joe offered to order the parts and noted that they would be in Aug. 29th. Everything was good so far.... It was a few weeks into September when I thought maybe I should follow up with Joe, I haven't heard anything in 3 weeks.. so I called and left a message. Week later, no call back. So I call and leave a message... same deal.. finally, after 6 weeks of no communication I call Joe from a different phone # and BINGO, he answers! But, he's "extremely busy" and will have to call me back in a day or two...almost two weeks later I have yet to get a call back. I even gave him an out! One of my last messages said " if you don't want to do the work, that's fine, just let me know" This guy has zero respect for people, no class and zero communication. read more
