This recently opened neighborhood cafe makes me jealous that I don't live here. Good thing my sister-in-law is buying a place down the street and we've agreed to swap houses in 10 years...
From the folks that brought you the Handle Bar downtown, this is sure to be your favorite neighborhood cafe. The space is cozy and charming and the food is delicious. The menu might not seem long, but it has everything you could want - sweet, savory, full, light. The ingredients are locally sourced. The coffee smells great. The baked goods look amazing.
I thoroughly enjoyed my poached eggs with kale and hollandaise. The eggs were perfectly poached, the kale nice and soft, and hollandaise mustardy to add tang to the creaminess of the egg yolk. Jane had poached eggs with smoked salmon, and Oli had the Full House with extra mushrooms instead of tomatoes. There was also a side of beetroot hummus that was a tasty as its rich pink color was inviting. Nothing but happy tongues and tummies around the table.
I look forward to visiting again when I'm in Oxford this summer! read more
