Martha got the hair color I wanted! The only downside for me was that it took longer than the other stylists I've been with from Torrance and OC. I started at 1:30p and left at 7:30p. That's the longest I have been with getting my hair done. I also got an estimate, from Mario, $185-$230 (which I could afford) but was charged $260. I liked the color and the trim so I tipped $20. I have only been there once to see "Hunaayhair" and showed her a picture of her past work from Instagram as my hair inspiration. Caramel balayage. I had dark black virgin hair. And she never expressed any doubt or concerns about her ability to do it or any risk of my hair outcome other than to use a good shampoo and conditioner (which like duh ok) Here is why I give HER one star... I had black virgin hair. I neverrrrrr colored my hair before so I had zero knowledge of any of the process. I asked for my hair to overall be a brown caramel and left with PATCHY PLATINUM BLONDE hair!!! She was eating and doing another client's in the middle of doing my hair and so I'm positive she left the bleach in my hair ENTIRELY too long! She killed my hair. It is now dry and dead and not at all what I asked for! Not only that I also was having her blow dry and curl my hair and she "did" that. But really I left with wet damp frizzy hair. The first time i went there, i paid $35 for a blow dry and curl with Rebecca and this time i went with another stylist and made the mistake of not asking for the price since i assumed it was the same. My entire experience at this place was amazing. Everyone in the IE knows how hard it is to find a good salon. When I found this place on Instagram, I got so excited! I still had to drive some distance but it's better than going to San Diego, Los Angeles or Orange County. Plus, this place is that good! I was not disappointed one bit and I am pretty picky. I was expecting to get an appointment weeks from when I called but they said Amber was available in 2 days. So I went in for my 9 am appointment and Amber offered to make me some coffee. At first I wanted to go a little light with my balayage but Amber suggested to stay in the brown range to keep the integrity of my hair. The process took about 2-3 hours and she gave me a complimentary trim. She knew exactly what she was doing and I felt so confident my hair was going to be transformed beautifully! In my past experiences, I have never felt this way! She even fixed my bangs that was cut "incorrectly" or wasn't finished. Phew, thank god. The products they use are amazing. My hair feels light and great and I've gotten so many compliments. She mention olaplex and I know she toned and conditioned me up real good. The last place that did my hair charged me just as much for a HORRIBLE job. I felt like the last salon who did my hair, didn't care for my hair. So I followed my normal stylist, Sheyla of Hunaay Hair to The Hair Studio. First, the location is great with easy access with food in the parking lot (which is great for me because I come from an hour away). I was greeted immediately on arrival by the owner of the salon and waited in comfy chairs while Sheyla finished her prior client. The salon is spotless, someone is constantly cleaning, which I love to see because I'm a clean freak. All of the stylists are very nice, and have fun together. The music was great and overall there is a great vibe to the salon. As I said, I've been seeing Hunaay Hair for a while and as always, Sheyla delivered perfect hair!
