She did things I didn't even ask for. She also said she wasn't good at layering and was going to ask another girl to do it. I opted out. She talked non stop about "Jesus", which I did not appreciate. I meant to update after responding to Lacy. She sent me a text apologizing for the mistake after talking to Vivian and realizing that she did indeed tell me that they didn't accept MasterCard. Vivian seems very sweet, and I'm sure that she would have been happy to help me fix the problem I had with my hair, but I was completely put off by the whole situation when Lacy started insulting me by insinuating my card had declined and that my hair was box dyed before even speaking to Vivian. Not a good look. Although I won't go here again, I believe Vivian made a mistake with the card, we're only human. I'm sure she is an excellent stylist and I wouldn't want anyone not to see her based on my review. My complaint is with management. My hair was way past my butt and not an easy cut or color, it didn't look bad, it just wasn't what I wanted. I wish her the best. read more

Let me preface this review by saying I haven't gotten my hair colored since right before Covid in 2020! I thought prices were high then, but ohmmmgeezy! I decided to get my hair done at the end of my summer vacation on 7/20/24. I was interested in this place because it was new and local. I requested an appointment through Yelp and received responses from the owner in a reasonable amount of time. Yay! She ended up calling me to set an appointment. I'd give her a 5 just for that. I was able to get a same day appointment, which was amazing because when I decide I want something, I want it now. I showed up a bit later and met the stylist. She was nice and helped me narrow down my vision. I was ultimately wanting to cover the grey and add some low maintenance pizazz. Everything was going well. After my wash I heard a few times, your grey didn't take the color well. Hmm, you're the stylist with 20+ years of experience. She let me know if I wasn't happy with it I could come back to fix it. I let her know I'd give it a few days and get back to her. A few days later, I was not feelin' it so I contacted her to get it fixed. I felt it was way too dark with not enough sauce. We ended up adding more caramel color all over and around the face to lighted it up a bit. I originally went in and paid $230, including tip. A few days later I went in to fix it and get a $75 trim (?!) and paid an additional $149.50 (that was with a discount). Danggg, I was not expecting that at all. I'm all for paying for what you get, but I don't feel I got that the first time around. There was nothing inherently wrong with the service, but I feel the stylist should tell you the fees up front. Also, after showing photos of what I was looking for, if it wasn't attainable, please let me know. Take into consideration my hair history when you're mixing up the color in the back. Also do better about not staining my hairline because I have to go to work in a few days. Overall, the vibe was chill. I personally didn't like the aesthetic, but it looked shiny and new, so that's a plus. I saw a mini fridge up front, so I asked for a drink (water for the win). Not sure I'd return, but the important part is that I ended up liking my hair after the second visit. read more

I went in for a perm and told them my hair is very resistant. I told Gena she would have to use small rods and heat for the perm to take. While she was rolling my hair, I told her the rods were too big and she said they'd be fine. Well, after over 5 hours, there were a lot of straight parts. I still tipped her 25%, feeling bad that it took so long. The next day I sent her pictures, showing all of the straight. She had me come in for some sort of treatment. It looked "ok" when I left after lots of product and lots of scrunching. By the end of the day it was going straight though. The ends were all straight (I've been told the solution didn't reach or too much hair on each curler). I sent pics of straight ends. She said during the treatment that she could re perm after two weeks. I waited a few days and asked if we could make an appt to perm straight pieces and just cut off the ends. We made the appt. I went in and she said no perm. She cut off the ends. Her coworker kept saying what great curl pattern I had. She did this when I came in for treatment too. Making it sound like I was imagining things. Annoying! Anyway, before I left, she charged me to cut the ends off that SHE failed to perm! $45! That's what I'm the most upset about. She obviously isn't as good at perms as she thinks she is, but to charge me for her failure is ridiculous! I will never go back and never recommend this salon to anyone! There was no apology, just blame and that is not ok. Edit to add: After posting this review, Gina reached out and refunded me for the haircut. My hair was NOT saturated. I've been getting perms for over 40 years and I know the difference. And I was not told until it was too late that she could not use heat. This was long after I'd told her I needed heat. read more

Especially at The Colour Parlor. I even had great women conversation with another client which I believe women need to do. And a heads up my Daughter cut her bangs a couple days before her cut. Gee Gee is absolutely phenomenal. She has been coloring my hair for a while and always makes it look exactly like I want. Today I went in for a colour and cut - first time having her cut my hair. She really listens and the cut was exactly what I had asked for. But, the very best part was when she asked if she could trim my bangs. I have not let anyone cut my bangs in over 20 years. I always do it myself. I liked that she asked first and because the rest of my hair was looking so good, I took a deep breath and said yes. Wow! She can cut bangs!! Just the way I like them and I am very particular about my bangs! I was so surprised and happy! She listens and she gives you what you ask for. What more could you ever want? Called yesterday to a couple of different locations until I got through to this Colour Parlor. I was scheduled for 5:30, arrived 15 mins early and Yessenia was very kind and wasted no time in starting on me. I wanted a face framing, long layer cut and dye. All along the way, Yessenia was very attentive with me and with everything I was wanting and asking for. She was even able to wash, cut and blow dry my daughter's hair (literally, a spur of the moment decision!) while my dye was setting and I really appreciate her for doing that. NO STARS I recently moved to area. Trying to find a new salon to do blowouts. I booked appt earlier this week via text w/ the owner. I show up to my appt @ 10am today. Told stylist is on her way. Then I learn stylist wasn't aware of appt. It wasn't added to schedule. That another stylist can see me while her client is processing. It's 10:15am by now. Stylist says she can shampoo me & put hair mask on. I ended up leaving. Beyond disappointed & now I have to scramble to find a salon to do a blow out today. I texted owner & she did apologize.
