I could not wait to get home and write this review!! I am so incredibly grateful for Andrea! I was in desperate need of assistance with my scalp (seborrheic dermatitis). I tried about everything but my scalp still felt inflamed. One session with Andrea and my scalp and hair feel incredible! She's so knowledgeable in all areas of haircare. She's patient, kind, passionate about her work, and has a spirit of service. Thank you so much, Andrea! I look forward to my healthy hair journey with you. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! read more

I needed a trim and searched on TikTok for a place in Orange County for black women's hair care. I just so happened that to see a video for this location so I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised and knew half way through the appointment that I would be back. Service was great and my hair felt wonderful after a moisture treatment. I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time. I recommend. read more

Love, LOVE, LOVE, Andrea at The Hair Session! It has been a long time since I have had someone thoroughly analyze my hair and scalp. She is professional and knowledgeable and she cares about Healthy Hair! On top of that, the style looks good and is polished too! This was my first time visiting, but I plan to be a steady seat in her chair. I highly recommend that you book an appointment with Andrea! You will not be disappointed! read more

I found Drea here on Yelp after deciding last minute that I wanted a press and curl before Thanksgiving. Im so glad to have found her and that she was able to accommodate me. Its really really hard to find stylists/salons in OC that work with natural hair. ESPECIALLY at the last second during press and curl season(lol). She was quick and took care of my hair. I haven't had my hair professionally pressed in almost 5 years so it was also nice to have such a good experience! read more

I contacted Drea to find out if she does wet sets, she wouldn't answer just kept telling me to book a consultation. What salon or stylist won't even tell you the services they do or don't provide? I let her know that I didn't want to come in for a consultation, without even knowing if she provides the service I wanted. Drea, called me rude, because I stated some things she didn't like but I was respectful, also, she told me not to contact her anymore wasting her time, but I tried to end the conversation with my first message, she continued to contact me. read more

I can't believe it's taken me so long to review The Hair Session! After moving to Orange County, I had a terrible time finding someone who could manage my hair properly and with care. I spent a lot of money on stylists that claimed they were experts in black hair care, but either couldn't execute and/or didn't actually care about the health and viability of my hair. After finding Andrea (through a referral), I was at last relieved. Upon walking in, I knew it would be a different experience. She was punctual, had a lovely salon, used high end products, and took one client at a time--not to mention, my hair was in the best shape I had seen it in years. She took the time to make sure my texture was improving, my hair was growing, and my edges were always strong. I've been to Andrea several times now, and I trust her implicitly. She's part of the rare class of hair artists that actually give a darn and your hair will be that testimony. I saw her yesterday and got compliments twice already today. She takes pride in making sure her clients are happy. read more

I was referred by my sister and never been happier! Andrea is always on time and ready to roll! Located in Fullerton, it's a clean, neat and private salon. Appointment system really easy to use. And...Lol she plays great music too! She listens to what I want..I'm rockin' a short pixie cut. I came in with a photo of a style I liked not only did she pull it off but improved upon it! Had some heat damage yet she has improved the health of my hair in such a short time. Recommends products to use and answers questions re: my daughters natural hair (Another battle lol). When I'm ready to go natural I'm sure she'll be there each step of the way. Always a pleasure! read more

Great Experience! Total self esteem builder- Very impressed with her abilities of hair maintenance, working with different textures of hair, location, booking process and appointment time management. She has helped my 11 year old in maintaining excellent hair care skills which has kept her hair controlled, conditioned and very healthy. For myself I'm obsessed with the perfect and regular trimming and love seeing final style result in the end. Recommended my sister who has short style and she was also pleased. All of us have different styles and texture and we were impressed with the versatility as we were all happy with our results. Overall does an excellent job with treating and recommending what's best for the individual. Best of all great environment and a pleasure to be around. read more

I recently moved to the area and my friend recommended Andrea. I was nervous because I had been going to the same hairdresser for years. Make a long story short I am SO happy I decided to let Andrea do my hair . I let her silk press my hair for the first time in over three years (I normally wear weave). She is professional and very knowledgeable about different types of hair textures. I have very thick hair and it is hard for some people to wash but Andrea took her time. She really cares about her clients growing healthy hair. My hair looked bone straight after she finished and it lasted over two weeks. Andrea is also easy to talk to so if for some reason you do not like something she will fix it and not get mad . If you are ever looking for a hairstylist in the OC area look no further than her . If you are outside of the OC area she is worth the drive. read more

If zero stars was an option that would be my rating. So after searching for specific services for my nine year old daughters untamable hair, I decided to try "Hair in Session". It started off with a call to make an appointment for a consult, no answer so I decided to text (I figured she was with a client, understandable.) Consult happens via text and a short phone convo. Great! I like what I hear, let's do this ASAP. She advised me she doesn't do Saturdays, can you come today at 5p. Yes, great see you then. Get a text a few hours later to come at 3:30p. I ask for the address and realize it's 50 min drive to the salon. I inform her GPS states I'll be there closer to 4p. No response! We arrive in the parking lot and get a text. I can not accommodate 4p. I immediately call her and say "we're already here, should I bother even coming in?" She states "NO IM LEAVING" I think WOW, no way what horrible service, 1st impression SMH. For those of us in the service industry, we know that we accommodate as much as possible a first time customer and definitely NEVER lash out at your clients. Copy and Paste part of her text to me, "It off I did u a huge favor by being honest and telling I to not relax your baby girls hair...u can yelp whatever you feel Is appropriate but you don't dictate my business my clients know how wonderful and amazing I am that's why you saw those reviews. So before you just go off on me you should really try being kind as I was going to allow u to come in...but I don't have to" (well someone's on a night horse)... my reply to her "Exactly why I chose you over all other reviews I read and foremost over my own stylist and salon. But NOT a great 1st impression and those matter most. If you couldn't accommodate a busy Friday you should have been upfront from the beginning. Learn to manage your time and business. Thanks anyways I'll take my business where it's welcome and appreciated." So bottom line, she may be great at hair but if you want the SERVICE to go along the HIGH prices we pay for hair now days ladies, THINK twice before booking with "Hair in Session" take your money where it's appreciated and welcome. SMH... so disappointed. read more

On July 7th I texted to book an appointment for pressing n curl. It was scheduled for July 19th. I text back the next day July 8th to see if we could change it to the 18th instead. She told me she would have to confirm because she may have a lab. I thought okay. A couple of days passed I never heard from her. So I text her and no response. I called and left a voicemail...no response. I text again a week later no response. I'm starting to get concerned now because my appointment is either on the 18th or the 19th and here it is the 14th and I'm getting no response. Then on the 16th I leave a final voicemail message, again no response. I've now decided to make other plans because I wasn't even sure if the 19th was going to be kept. Then out of the blue at 3:30pm on the "18th" I get a text from Andrea to confirm our appointment on the "18th" then seconds later I get another text stating "I mean the 19th" (so I'm supposing it would have to be the 19th since it was already the 18th and obviously not an option to consider an appointment. It also proved to me that she did see my previous text). At this point I am in SHOCK of such disrespectful customer service. I'm literally thinking that I may be dealing with someone with a personality disorder. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, I text her back and said "since there were no replies to my phone calls voicemails and text messages since July 7th, I made other plans" It was my hope that she would reply and tell me something like her phone was off or she was sick or that there was some kind of tragic event that presented her from following up with me. At the very least an apology. However in the back of my mind I had decided If I did not get a reply then most certainly I will never return to her or refer anyone that I know (which is why I am leaving this review). It is beyond me that anyone can become so confident in themselves that they feel they have a right to abuse innocent people in such a way. I am reminded "pride comes before destruction and a halted spirit before a fall"This is definitely the seeds that this young lady is planting. I hope she wakes up before it's too late! So I said all this simply to say book your appointment and accept her services, AT YOUR OWN RISK! read more
