It took a lot of research and thinking before I decided to go through with it. I met a girl whose curly hair similar to mine and gone blonde and she recommended Meagan. She was punctual for the appointment. The products that she used were gentle on my hair although the color was being lifted. She straightened my hair which also makes me nervous sometimes because some stylists go to heavy on the heat and damage my curl pattern. It's been over a month now and I can say that my curls bounced back nicely, I'm in love with the color, have gotten lots or compliments, and have not noticed any damage to my hair. We recently moved to Newark De and figured it was time to find a new stylist. Over the years I have been disappointed when visiting trendy, overpriced salons where the stylists and staff had "attitudes" and frequently messed up my cut. Most people have a few horror stories. I did a google search and Carol Cole Salon in Newark, DE came up high on the first page and she had great reviews...the website looked trendy, simple and she looked nice & friendly. I took a chance, called and the receptionist was professional & accommodating and managed to get an appointment for the next day. I started to feel very comfortable. The salon is immaculate. Carol was punctual. She listened to what I wanted, took great care with my cut and communicated the entire time. It is obvious she takes pride in and enjoys her work. This is the best cut and style I have ever received and I can't wait to go back. Get at lease one compliment a day!

I'm kind of a nervous natural, and I dont get my hair straightened a lot, but i tried it out since i'm going out of town and I'm glad i came. I'm kind of opposed to Dominican-style blowouts because of all the unnecessary heat, pulling and breakage that it causes, so i was happy that coming here was a more gentle experience. She did a blow dry, flat iron blow out on me but took her time and got my hair really straight, even at the roots. And everything is in english, which you wouldnt think I'd miss since I usually have my phone anyway but....yea. it's nice to actually be able to listen to the tv in there while my hair is being done lol. She used heat protectant and made sure my hair wasn't dry during the flat ironing. My hair is not too stiff with product or from being too kinky still, but flows really nicely. Anyway, my blowout turned out great , and since I didn't see a lot of other reviews from people eith natural hair but not locs, so I figured I would show this place some love and say it in a public forum.
