The shop was small but not very crowded, which I liked. I made an appointment and didn't wait an obscene amount of time. I'm kind of a nervous natural, and I dont get my hair straightened a lot, but i tried it out since i'm going out of town and I'm glad i came. I'm kind of opposed to Dominican-style blowouts because of all the unnecessary heat, pulling and breakage that it causes, so i was happy that coming here was a more gentle experience. She did a blow dry, flat iron blow out on me but took her time and got my hair really straight, even at the roots. And everything is in english, which you wouldnt think I'd miss since I usually have my phone anyway but....yea. it's nice to actually be able to listen to the tv in there while my hair is being done lol. She used heat protectant and made sure my hair wasn't dry during the flat ironing. My hair is not too stiff with product or from being too kinky still, but flows really nicely. I walk in on a week day and see a bunch of elderly ladies getting their weekly helmet head, just like my Nanny. I was scared at first, but I needn't be. Lori Lord was my stylist and she did an AMAZING job. She foiled my hair in nice small pieces (I hate, hate, hate chunkier highlights they look so unnatural), the coloring was perfect (not too blonde) and the cut was exactly what I like. I'm used to paying much more too. She was friendly and knowledgeable. She took her time and didn't rush (another pet peeve of mine with stylists). I walked out of there a new, refreshed woman. I can't speak for all the stylists, but Lori knows her craft and I'm pretty sure I'll be back even though it's nearly an hour away from my home.

Terrible experience. Avoid at all costs. I went to this establishment twice, once for box braids…read moreand once for boho faux locs. Both times, Vivian did my hair. Though I was pleased with the style the first time, all of my edges broke off when I took them out. I went back another time for a different hairstyle, giving her the benefit of the doubt. I made sure to tell her about my edges, in which she looked as though SHE was offended that MY hair broke off. Vivian was rude and inattentive both times that she styled my hair. Even though I showed her photos of my desired style, she did her own thing. She insisted on putting more hair in, and by the end of the experience, the faux locs looked unnatural and bulky. She used 7 packs of hair and my hair is thin. I had to rush out of the appointment once she was complete, so I didn't have time to go back and forth with them about how much I was un-pleased. Once I got home, I realized how horrible my hair was. So, I reached out to Layla, the owner. She avoided my texts, calls, voicemails--she sent me straight to voicemail. Prior to this, she was always quick to respond to me. Finally, I had my friend call her from a different number and she picked up!!! Once, she realized what she had done, she immediately returned my call, after I sent her a message on Whatsapp (which showed me she was online.) Unacceptable. Two days later, Layla fixed my hair the way I desired. She had to cut out a lot of crotchet out and re-twist the faux locs that Vivian messed up. They spoke nasty about me in french, until at the end of the appointment, I started responding back to them in french. They were trying to hustle more money out of me. They looked ashamed of themselves and they should have been. Their bathroom is horrendous and overall the space is shabby and unclean. They are extremely unprofessional and have poor customer service. Do yourself a favor, pay a little more and go somewhere that actually honors your business.

It is right next store to El Camino at the Concord apartment complex. Ask for Lauren for a hair cut and Niki for color! I was so happy with my color and cut!
