The staff is fantastic and we were warmly greeted upon arrival and the communication had been so great leading up to my appointment with Renee every step of the way -- I brought my mom with me for the make up trial and we were blown away with joy at the turn out. I told Madison Reeder (my make up artist) that I wanted to have a natural look on my big day but really left it up to her to decide what to do. I told her "my face is your blank canvas!" He was professional and I explained what I wanted done and he invited me to have a seat in his chair. But this was no ordinary chair It looked like a throne. I went in for a relaxer, cut, and color. I showed the stylist a photo of the cut and asked if they could do it. They said yes and I immediately was excited. When I was done my hair looked nothing like the photo. I was not happy, but I still made an appointment for the following week. I woke up the next morning with my hair stuck to my scalp! They did not rinse all of the relaxer out of my hair. It was still relaxer in my hair. I had sores in the back of my hair and chemical burns on my edges. I had to reach out to my old stylist to correct the damage that the stylist did to my hair. Thankfully she was able to salvage most of my hair in the back of my head. Unfortunately, this could have been avoided if they based my hair prior to the relaxer and washed all of the relaxer out of my hair.

I enjoy the new updated salon design, the shampoo area is very comfortable and I love the pedicure chairs. Many of the hairdressers have been with Hairworks for a long time, but they are up-to-date with trendy styles and are very experienced with color. I can honestly say, I only have had one bad experience there when my regular stylist had a death in the family. My stylist even went out of her way to make it right after she found out about my experience. I have used many of the services at Hairworks. I feel they are my place to go in Delaware for haircut, color, extensions, pedicures and their facials and waxing can't be beat. Take the time to go there and I'm sure you'll find your new favorite salon too.

I showed her an Instagram video of the cut and expressed that my son was getting married in 2 weeks, so this cut was important. I was in the chair maybe 4 minutes, head bent forward, snip, side to side snip and the cut was done. After researching how this cut was usually done, I was beside myself. The Blow-out was spent with her fingers throughout my hair with strands flying everywhere. This blowout was faster than my own. I thought, maybe she'll go over the cut when dry but then unsnapped the black cape and said she was done. I said, "That's it?" and she replied "yep!". I got out of the chair and immediately canceled the next appointment which was the special blowout the day of my son's wedding. I thought, I can do that myself. The cut was pricey and uneven.
