I'm not particularly high maintenance when it comes to my hair. In fact, I typically request a cut that will survive with minimal effort in the mornings and won't look terrible if I neglect to go back for another cut for at least 6 months. However, after moving to Delaware almost 5 years ago, I tried a handful of different salons (even waiting to get my haircut until I was visiting Boston where I had a stylist I liked) until I finally found Tiana at Salon 926, who has been amazing. She is easy to talk to, always supportive of whatever hair-related requests I make, and offers honest advice when appropriate. She has never made me feel guilty about my total neglect of my hair (which has happened at other salons). As an added bonus, she always offers to curl my hair at the end, making me feel even more glam. The salon itself is clean and staff is courteous. There's a cute selection of jewelry and accessories for sale that you can browse while you wait. Making an appointment is easy --- you can request times you want online, and they'll confirm with you via email or phone. This time, despite a relatively restrictive schedule, they were able to find me an evening appointment with my preferred stylist within 1 week of my request. Prices have always been reasonable as well. Definitely planning to return on a regular basis and would highly recommend Salon 926 and Tiana to all! read more

This was the ONLY place most of my family would go back in Wilmington for hair cuts, coloring, etc. Allergy Boy, Blondie, Small Dragon and The Wife would all go see Lexi, who always did a great job. Finding someone near our new home who fit the bill was one of the greatest challenges of moving. It's a busy time of year and I'm new in town and my job has me on call so, trying to book an appointment was kinda rough (because of me, not them) but, Nancy was doing her best to get me in, and I asked if I could be put on the cancellation list for the particular stylist she was recommending, and low and behold, it worked out! I ended up getting in earlier than expected due to a cancellation! The salon is warm and friendly, as you wait for your appointment time, you can look at their jewelry and products (I don't know if it's just seasonal, because it is Christmas time), but either way, I wasn't in a rush so, I ended up purchasing some cute earrings and assisted someone else in selecting some as well. Finally after months of searching and a bunch of trial and error my wife and I finally found a salon we are happy with. My wife had Tiana. She is so amazingly happy. Tiana listened to her and actually cut her hair the way my wife asked. She said I finally got my hair cut exactly how I want it for the first time, maybe ever in my life. Thank you Tiana! She also had Stephanie do her nails and was super pleased with her work as well. Her nails lasted over a month. They would still be in good shape if she hadn't taken it off to change the color. Both ladies were super friendly and a pleasure to work with. I had Kim cut my hair. You would think a simple mens' haircut would be easy. Apparently its more difficult than it looks because I went through 3 other stylists before Kim. My hair couldn't be happier. My wife & I will return. If you're in the Wilmington area, look them up. Salon 926 has a hidden gem....& her name is Marie and she is the most fabulous, funny, caring and hard working esthetician I've ever met. I have been waxing for YEARS & never found the right connection with a waxer until I met Marie. I first started seeing Marie 3-4 years ago and I have to say, she is literally the best waxing guru I have ever had. Brazilians are my service of choice and Marie handles it with care and precision ...not to mention we have great conversation, which makes the appointment that much nicer. I loved it! Everyone was very friendly. Julia did my cut, and even though it was just a cut she spent a lot of time with me. Her and the owner gave me all kinds of tips on best ways to grow my hair out and healthy. As a person who doesn't get much new hair growth (thyroid) I really appreciate it. I was looking to get an undercut with someone with experience. I reached out to this salon and they quickly got back to me they were confident they had someone who could do it. As soon as I arrived at Salon 926 I was greeted by many friendly people who quickly assisted me! My appointment was with Tiana, who was great! She was able to do exactly what I asked, gave me her honest opinions while still listening to mine. She was so energetic during the entire time and overall made my experience there amazing. This place gave me one of my worst hair experiences. I went for a balayage because the website said it was $50-$80 for the balayage depending on hair length and then I went in for my appointment and it actually started at $120 (more than double the starting price listed on the website). Then my hair ended up looking no different so I complained and the owner offered for me to have it redone for free which was nice. I went back a few weeks later and she overcompensated for the first time and bleached my dark brown hair golden yellow. My hair was so fried and damaged I had to cut it short at a different place just to get it a little healthy again. At the end of my "free" appointment they charged me $30 for a blow dry which I wasn't allowed to refuse because the hairdresser needed to see how it looked dry read more

Great local salon! Meagan is wonderful and will do anything to get it perfect for you. Nails, waxing and massage are also fantastic and the front desk always makes you feel really welcomed. I don't think I've ever waited more than 5 minutes. Unlike other salons where the emphasis is on the owner and who they are. Salon 926 puts the emphasis on you and what will make you happy. Only down side is payment options. No American Express and you can't add a tip to Visa or an ATM card. You have to remember to bring cash for a tip - not very convenient. read more

Although the salon was busy, I was greeted warmly by the front desk staff, my coat was taken and hung up for me, and beverages were offered. My stylist, Tori, was immediately ready at my appointment time, and did a great job with my haircut. (Btw, I can't remember the last time I wasn't made to wait at a salon!) I followed Peter here from another shop and was very impressed with Salon 926. It is a beautifully decorated, relaxing open space with many thoughtful touches. The receptionist was very friendly when I called to make the appointment, during their reminder call, and then again when I arrived. She brought me a glass of ice tea and then when I left gave me a new member welcome bag full of goodies, all with a lovely smile. Peter is a terrific stylist and I have always been so happy with the work he does. I'd follow him anywhere, but I'm glad he landed at Salon 926! These girls are incredible at what they do!! I had an appointment at the salon for nails, hair and makeup the morning of my wedding. I was with Stephanie for nails and makeup, and Tiana for my bridal up-do. Stephanie did an excellent job on my nails, great attention to detail and my makeup came out looking so natural, but didn't budge throughout the rest of the day (and it was hot and humid outside). Tiana made my hair dreams come true-- she incorporated all of the different aspects I was hoping to have in my up-do and make it look just perfect. I've been to her before for haircuts and I am definitely a regular of hers now. She is a very talented hair stylist and I always love how my hair looks when she's done working on it! I went into this salon to get my hair done for prom and it came out looking terrible. I came in with a picture of the style I wanted and I was assured that the woman knew how to do it. After a rushed styling (maybe like 15 minutes) I came out looking nothing like what I had asked for. I should've definitely vocalized my real thoughts on the hairstyle but once I'd built up the courage to say something I was told the lady who did it had left for the day. By this point I was so stressed out about my hair and prom that I decided to just pay. This was another surprise since their prices are ridiculous. The woman didn't blow dry my hair, she literally barely curled my hair and did two skinny braids that you could barely see and charged me $70. I went home and had to fix my hair myself and re-curl everything since nothing she did even stayed. Definitely biggest waste of money. read more

Used to see Nicole Gallo. Everything was perfect, then i showed up to an appointment and the salon lied to me and she was traveling and focusing on another business which is a lie. Thank god for social media because she is working at another very nicer salon in Greenville closer to my home. But before I knew this information they had unknowingly put me on another persons book and the work was awful and im so greatful i found my stylist . Any other people looking for nicole go on social media shes public and the prices at the other salon are the same, closer and im happy again. I sat in the chair for around 4-5 hours to go a bit blonder. I told the stylist that I have had issues with other salons and that it always ends up brassy. She did my hair TWO times and nothing changed. I was told she could possibly fix it maybe in two more sessions. I made the trip back to my usual stylist and she fixed it instantly. There is literally bit reason behind the horrible color I dealt with for WEEKS while waiting for my hair to be ready for more bleaching. I do not recommend this salon. The manager had to come over to urge my stylist to come and quickly take off the hair dye before it ruined the integrity of my hair... Never again. read more

I'm sad to say that Salon 926 lost a customer today. I have been there once before and I was looking forward to a return trip, however; when I called in to verify my appointment today, they had no sign of the appointment and didn't put in any effort to help. I had scheduled the appointment through their website and received a confirmation email with a time and date for the appointment. When I called in they said they saw the email but didn't have the appointment in the book and they don't do color after 6pm. This would have been one thing, but the woman from the front desk, Donna, I believe, was not helpful at all. I explained where I was coming regarding my appointment from and my time constraints due to working at a hospital and she simply seemed not to care. Had she been nicer or willing to actually help out rather than basically saying "tough sh*t", I wouldn't have had a problem rescheduling. But I was just so frustrated with the situation and will not be returning to this salon. read more

This is a great salon!! The other reviewers are right, the front desk and all of the staff are very welcoming and the coffee is good. You never have to wait long and their hours and parking are good. I see Nikki for my haircut and coloring and she has always done a great job. The first time I went in to get my hair dyed, Nikki listened to what I was thinking and then made some great suggestions and the cut and color turned out really well. Also their new massage therapist, Kendall is great. Before I saw Kendall, I didn't think anyone was going to be able to get the knots out of my upper back. Now, my back has never felt better. When I went in to make an appointment the receptionist was very nice and helpful. Salon is clean and looks well taken care of. Didn't wait at all when I went in for my appointment and all staff showed great customer service. Nikki dyed my hair - I would completely recommend her! She made sure she knew exactly what I wanted and offered her opinion in what would look best on my skin tone. Even though I had a multi step process that took a few hours, she even took the time to make it look nice after she was finished coloring it because she knew I was going out later that night. I love this salon! Especially Nickky! I live in Connecticut but travel to DE on a fairly regular basis and always wait to make my way down there to schedule my hair appointments. The salon itself is clean, modern, friendly/welcoming and there is plenty of parking. Nickky is the only stylist I have seen and I don't see myself switching anytime soon - she is an awesome listener and always cuts my hair exactly like I ask her. She also did my makeup and styled my hair for my engagement pictures and they both came out awesome! The cuts are also reasonably priced and I am always offered a drink when I arrive. At Salon 926 I booked a wax appt followed by hair. After the wax (which was a bit awkward as I was made to spin around on he table instead of the technician walking around the table), I sat for 30 minutes in reception, 30 minutes past my hair time. I assumed he stylist was running behind. There was a receptionist there who never bothered to see if my stylist was ready for me. The stylist was, in fact, waiting for me to be brought back. When I finally asked if she could check, I was brought back. The styling was fine, but being treated liked I am invisible is not worth it. Will not be going back. read more
