The rooms were extremely clean, well the whole property is. Along the road around this hotel is some nice little row of motels but this place is more like little private bungalows. They have a little path to the beach which you could borrow a wagon and haul your stuff for the day. We were on the marina side so we got to watch the boat launch follies and enjoyed watching the fishermen come and go. Enjoyed the location close to a couple of reastaraunts right on the water and rented a pontoon boat and enjoyed a day on the water. Fabulous hideaway!

The rooms are nice and clean, the staff are friendly and accommodating. There are beach chairs, sifters, scoopers, and towels in the lobby they will let you borrow and take over to the beach. Right on the beach with easy access, they provide chairs and kayaks if you want to use them. The property is old, but very well maintained. The staff, mainly Karen is friendly and accommodating. The apartment is clean, the appliances are up to date. Perfectly suited for lazy days spent at the beach. We didn't move our car the entire weekend. We brought in food from the Publix nearby and saved time and money from the usual dining out scene. We will keep this resort on our defiantly return list.

The owner Tekla welcomed us as we exited our vehicle. We felt like we were staying in a friends home rather than a hotel. It was impeccably clean and decorated, we stayed in the Big House and it is remodeled and has everything you need for your stay. Upon our exit Tekla and her husband were so kind to my children and bid us farewell. We cannot say enough about this amazing property and the lovely owners. We cannot wait to return.

I debated whether to leave a review because this resort is seriously a hidden gem that I want to keep secret for us (lol!). It's clean (this coming from a germaphobe), beds were comfortable, and our bungalow was big and well appointed (had everything we could need) and unlike any other "cookie cutter" chain hotel, it kept it's old florida charm! Having both the beach and bay access was super convenient for my family to enjoy different activities like fishing, boating, swimming, and of course our kids' favorite of who can find the best shells and shark teeth :) . I'd say the best part is their amazing private beach! No hunting for a parking space, dragging all our gear and having to push through crowds to find a spot on the beach!! We were hesitant to vacation with COVID, but this place saved our family's summer trip. It was a relief to know we could relax and not have to stress over crowds or germy common interior areas, etc. All the staff are great and are very helpful and friendly. They do a good job of making sure the resort doesn't get overcrowded ( I'm glad they regulate the # of day guests). Oh and the beach pavilion is amazing!! We enjoyed the most peaceful, breathtaking views while relaxing under there, highly recommend!

Staff is exceptionally rude and my room was absolutely unacceptable. Mold, stains, dust, rundown appliances and human fluids - a total health hazard. When I brought these issues to the attention of management, instead of resolving the issue I was charged additional fees by the owner, Chris Charles. Every weekend since I stayed here he has tried to process payments on my card, and I have been forced to close my account because of it. The owner is a total scam artist. Save yourself the heartache and don't book a room here.

Very disappointing experience at Hampton Inn & Suites Venice Bayside South Sarasota. My father…read morerecently suffered a stroke and accidentally booked our room for the wrong date due to his vision and cognitive limitations. When we arrived and explained the situation, the front desk and management showed little to no compassion and were extremely defensive instead of trying to help us find a solution. We understood the mistake was ours, but the lack of empathy and poor customer service made the situation much worse. We were forced to pay for another room that same night, and the way everything was handled left a terrible impression on our entire family. Unfortunately, this experience has completely discouraged us from staying with this hotel brand again.

It is at the quiet end of the beach, the room was great, it was quiet and the other guests were friends. There are two good places to eat close by. I look forward to returning.

An excellent beachfront getaway…read more On The Beach is literally on the beach. The small cottage-style rooms are within 200 feet of the ocean, but secluded behind palm trees, so neighboring properties do not distract. The rooms themselves are very clean and modern. Simple, but just right. Every room has a fridge, microwave and "kitchen" sink, so it's accommodating for an extended stay. Just note that the fridge is small, so groceries will need to be limited. The bed was very comfortable with tons of pillows. The walk-in shower looked like it was brand new. Plenty of hot water and water pressure to clean off after a day on the beach. To get to the beach, you walk down a short trail that's surrounded by bushes and flowers. The sand is a mixture of white sand and shells. Lounge chairs are provided, in addition to beach towels. If you want a larger, busier beach, take a short walk south and you'll end up at Nokomis Beach. Walk north and you can go for miles without seeing many people at all. That is also a great route if you are looking to collect shells. After your beach day is over, there is a small outdoor shower by the property to rinse off. Each room also has a couple of chairs outside, so you can air dry, if you prefer, before going back inside. The staff (housekeeping and management) have relatively short hours, so you may need to contact the parent property (Bentley Boutique Hotel) to check-in, or if you need other assistance outside of 10:30-5. In terms of a value, find a deal through a 3rd party booker or take advantage of an On The Beach special - either way, I doubt you will be able to find a better beach stay for such an affordable price. The area itself is relatively quiet, but there are a few restaurants within 5-10 minutes. If you need heavier shopping, head north about 20 minutes to hit the city area. Siesta Key is also just over 30 minutes away, depending on traffic. I highly recommend On The Beach and I'll be back the next time I want a beach getaway!
