The place is now called Casey Key Resorts - Beachfront. I feel very blessed to have this place for my first trip to Florida with my wife. It is at the quiet end of the beach, the room was great, it was quiet and the other guests were friends. There are two good places to eat close by. I look forward to returning. read more

An excellent beachfront getaway. On The Beach is literally on the beach. The small cottage-style rooms are within 200 feet of the ocean, but secluded behind palm trees, so neighboring properties do not distract. The rooms themselves are very clean and modern. Simple, but just right. Every room has a fridge, microwave and "kitchen" sink, so it's accommodating for an extended stay. Just note that the fridge is small, so groceries will need to be limited. The bed was very comfortable with tons of pillows. The walk-in shower looked like it was brand new. Plenty of hot water and water pressure to clean off after a day on the beach. To get to the beach, you walk down a short trail that's surrounded by bushes and flowers. The sand is a mixture of white sand and shells. Lounge chairs are provided, in addition to beach towels. If you want a larger, busier beach, take a short walk south and you'll end up at Nokomis Beach. Walk north and you can go for miles without seeing many people at all. That is also a great route if you are looking to collect shells. After your beach day is over, there is a small outdoor shower by the property to rinse off. Each room also has a couple of chairs outside, so you can air dry, if you prefer, before going back inside. The staff (housekeeping and management) have relatively short hours, so you may need to contact the parent property (Bentley Boutique Hotel) to check-in, or if you need other assistance outside of 10:30-5. In terms of a value, find a deal through a 3rd party booker or take advantage of an On The Beach special - either way, I doubt you will be able to find a better beach stay for such an affordable price. The area itself is relatively quiet, but there are a few restaurants within 5-10 minutes. If you need heavier shopping, head north about 20 minutes to hit the city area. Siesta Key is also just over 30 minutes away, depending on traffic. I highly recommend On The Beach and I'll be back the next time I want a beach getaway! read more

When attempting to cancel my booking, they refused to refund any of my money even though it was one month away. I understand the policy is 60 days, but life doesn't cooperate with a corporate policy. I booked through my company benefits website, which apparently utilized a lower rate that cannot be refunded. I am out $1300 dollars. This is theft and should be illegal. Do not book with this trash. read more

Do NOT recommend. Upon checking in for our two night stay, we were told that we would have one room for the first night and then have to check out for 5-6 hours on the second day and switch to a different room for the second night. We informed the staff that this would not work as we have a 7 week-old child and booked a two night stay. Their response was that on the second day (tomorrow) we could sit and wait outside until the second room was cleaned, but that we would have to checkout regardless of having booked a two night stay. Poor business practice. Will not stay again and currently looking for a new hotel and will file a complaint as they allowed us to book and pay for two nights in advance and are proceeding to revoke our room and not offer a refund. read more

Enjoyed my stay this past weekend. Very clean in rooms ! Nice size bathroom, smartly decorated for the beach. Stayed in Room 1, the only thing I would change is the air conditioning unit. It was super loud! Every time it came on it would wake me up. Take ear plugs !! Very close to the beach, very quiet and relaxing in that beach area. You pick up your keys across the street in the mailbox. The room had a refrigerator, coffee maker, large tv . Bed was very comfortable. Met the cleaning lady, she was very nice and she did a great job . Only problem was the super loud a/c. I will definitely visit again and use my Florida Residency Discount !!! Loved it ... read more

Tough to believe that this place stays in business. The management is absent most of the time and contacting them is next to impossible. If you have any difficulties during your stay, good luck, you're on your own. The location is fantastic, but not worth the hassle of being figuratively stranded on Casey Key. My advice would be to stay somewhere else. read more

Right on the beach. A real gem! We stayed here for New Years eve with another couple. We sat on the beach from afternoon until 2am. Had a ball. Rooms are big and comfy. Each room has chairs you can take to the beach! The room key is across the street in a black mailbox mounted on a building. The maid was very nice. We are going to make this place our go to for New Years Eve on the future. read more

This is a hidden gem. I was looking for a quite out of the way place near the beach and I found it here. The room is modern and very clean. The beach is just steps away. The white sandy beach and clear ocean water was relaxing. There isn't a front desk so you have to pick up the keys in a mailbox across the street. A great place for a weekend getaway. read more

I had the pleasure to sneak away for the two days in the beautiful and sleepy town of Nokomis, FL. Here I was able to enjoy a sweet boutique hotel called On the Beach Casey Key. I was lucky to find this boutique hotel using Expedia.com and used my mobile application to get a great discount on the rate. However, I later discovered that if you book directly with the hotel you can also obtain a 10% discount. Another thing which I did not realize when I first booked my reservation was finding out on how truly boutique the hotel at just 11 rooms. Now, I have stayed at boutique hotels so this was a plus for me as soon as I arrived. The rooms are quite roomy and have all of the essentials including small kitchenettes, which for me these are a HUGE PLUS. The room was extremely clean, the queen size bed is comfortable, the A/C worked great and loved that it is on the beach. Now...one thing that I did notice and not that it bothered me, was that during my stay most of the hotel guests were couples. Again, I DID NOT CARE lol - I just wanted to get away and relax on the beach and that is exactly what I did! Also please note that this boutique hotel is located right on Casey Key there is limited dining options and you will have to cross the draw-bridge to get across to Nokomis. Casey Key is mostly residential, however it is located on the same strip where Nokomis Public Beach is and the North Jetty Park - which BTW you can't miss! So if you are ever in the Florida Gulf Coast and searching for a quiet single/couple's escape give On the Beach Casey Key a try, you will not be disappointed! read more

Absolutely beautiful! Directly "On the Beach" with a little walking path that leads right to the porch. The room was clean, modern and intimate with plenty of linens provided. Quiet atmosphere with porch table and chairs to sip your coffee or wine, watching the sun rise and set. Outside shower to rinse off the sand and lounge beach chairs are also provided. Nothing to bring but swimsuit and sand sifter for the abundance of shells and shark teeth to find. Truly enjoyed our stay! read more

Well the 1st room we had was bug infested and the phones did not work so we had to drive 15 minutes to the business to discuss out problem. They gave us a different room but it had broken blinds so anyone could see into our room 24 hours a day even with the blinds closed (they cover the front door). The phones still didn't work neither did the clock/radio. There was rust on the towel bar, the kitchenette counter was stained with bright pink something, The outdoor shower for use when returning from the beach didn't work either. We were told after complaining we'd get a $50 credit back for having to move rooms and so much not working at the "luxury" resort but NEVER GOT THE $50 CREDIT PROMISED. The general manager was extremely rude and when we went to the place of business to voice our concerns he was condescending - even physically pushed a female employee out of his way when she tried to help us!! They claim this is a "luxury" hotel, it is NOT A LUXURY HOTEL by any means! Be warned!! read more
