Everything was top-notch. Very relaxing, quiet, and well-appointed. Everything we could have needed was available.

Pictures of the exterior of the Gorgeous Banyan House!!

Let me tell you about the Banyan house. Inn Keepers Rosie & Brett are phenomenal! The quintessential host & hostess! So friendly & genuinely caring! There to care for any need with great smiles! Deanna is fantastic , friendly and super helpful as well. This Property is SPOTLESS & gorgeous, convenient to all things on Venice Island. Full of very interesting Venice History! Billiards & exercise room are an unexpected & wonderful amenity! Clean & well kept Grounds were perfectly manicured with incredible water features & koi pond! The banyan tree is absolutely phenomenal! Plenty of umbrellaed tables to enjoy the view and sip your coffee, infused water , assortment of delicious, pastries, cookies, chips, crackers, popcorn, chocolates, wine, and many assorted beverages ! Nighttime lighting created the perfect ambiance. Pool is lovely & well maintained, as well as a hot tub, with plenty of towels & complimentary pool noodles for those who want to just float. A restroom was located close by. Lots of chairs & loungers. Our Family had 4 upstairs rooms & 1 downstairs in the main house. They were all so nice! Beautifully decorated, with very comfortable beds. Luxury linens & towels. 3 of the 5 rooms had very nice decks( which we utilized to the maximum! ) small fully equipped kitchenettes with microwaves in 3 rooms. Our room ( Palm Room) was very quiet! I was thrilled with dressing table/ desk & makeup mirror! Ice available! We simply can't give enough praise to the Banyan House. Have now stayed three different times, and always feel like we are home! We will definitely be there again soon I hope! Definitely the best!

The pool and hot tub were both perfect!

We had an amazing stay!!!! We used the provided bikes to ride to the beach and close by stores.

We have not used these points in about 7 years. I had just enough for 1 overnight stay. The dog fee is $100 and you need to place a credit card on file when you arrive. We were welcomed by the team on duty at the check in point and their interaction with us was exceptional. The staff was genuinely concerned about our experience and seemed happy to see us. A small gift bag was presented to us, containing 2 bottles of water plus a round, wooden, token worth a small treat (bag of chips, crackers or small treat). The room was clean and well presented. The dog loved her window overlookng the front parking lot and the Wendy's across the street. Their dog walking area was clean, easy to get to and had absolutely no issues. When we departed the property, there was an inclusive breakfast (it was okay). There was a good selection of items for anyone with an appetite. However, and this was just a minor point; their regular coffee was cold .... so several of us in the dining area, simply had to consume decaf or drink tea. We checked out at the lobby desk when we were exiting the property, only to find that they waived our pet fee, as a special anniversary gift to us. That was a very special surprise - what a treat ! ! We sure appreciated that gesture. Overall this was a delightful getaway with excellent staff members on duty.

While I finished checking in, my husband took the room key, moved the car to the side entrance and attempted to use the key pad to unlock the outside door. Not only was the keypad broken, but the door had tape over the locking mechanism thereby leaving the door unlocked 24 hours. The front desk clerk reassured us that no one came in other than guests. However, there was a man in a hooded sweatshirt outside the door smoking marijuana. The interior of the room was fairly clean but a bit shabby. The mini fridge was missing the freezer door, had a crack in the bottom, and a spot of rust outside. The bedside table had a leg that looked like a dog chewed it. The window was too dirty to see out. The shower had great water pressure with abundant hot water. The unlocked exterior door became a serious problem on the second night when rain apparently forced the marijuana smoker to move inside the building. Due to the large gaps around the door, we ended up stuffing towels under the door to stop the pungent smoke since I'm allergic to marijuana. The breakfast was fairly good. Scrambled eggs and bacon on the first day and cheese omelets and sausage the next. Waffles, yogurt, cereals, and pastries as well. My husband said the coffee was bitter but they also had Lipton Tea. Both days the breakfast attendants were friendly and constantly cleaning and refreshing the area. When we checked out I spoke with the front desk clerk about the door and marijuana. She stated the "shield " was supposed to be removed at night to make the door lock. Final recommendation- all of the staff we interacted with were amazing and professional. However, the building maintenance means we will find another location next time.

Staff is lovely and welcoming. The grounds and pool are well maintained. We were very pleased with our spacious immaculate 2nd story poolside room. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Gary works so hard to make sure all the quests are very satisfied. Joe and I had wonderful conversations with Gary and breakfast quests each morning. Really appreciated you Gary and it was a pleasure to get to know you! You are such an asset to this establishment. I highly recommend Best Western!

The bathroom had visible black mold, including around the AC unit, and the air vents were heavily clogged with dust and debris. The walls, especially in the bathroom, had noticeable streaking and buildup. The shower fixture was loose and appeared to be leaking into the wall. The vent in the wall was covered by cardboard and there was a dead cockroach sticking to it. The floors were extremely dirty--after walking barefoot for just a few minutes, my feet were black from dirt. What was most concerning is that this did not appear to be an isolated issue. A guest staying a couple doors down told me she was dealing with the same conditions and allowed me to see her room, which had similar problems. At checkout, another guest overheard my complaint and mentioned "black mold in the bathroom" as well. When I brought this to the front desk, I was not given clear assistance or direct access to management, and the issue was not resolved during my stay. Not only was I treated with disrespect from the front desk staff but when I asked for the manager she refused to give me any information other than their business card. I wrote a long email and sent it to the address that was on the card and my email was sent back to me and said there was no email address of this name. I documented the conditions and would strongly recommend that management address these issues immediately, as they may pose health concerns--especially for anyone with respiratory sensitivities.

This family-run business has three different properties on both sides of Casey Key Road. Our unit in the Old Florida section was steps to the beach on the Gulf and our friends' unit was in the Dockside Villas on the Intercoastal Inlet. There is also a New section a few door down on the beach. The units are perfectly appointed in every detail. Some examples of the details include small flashlights on the key rings, lights over the barbecue grill and recycle/trash barrels, handmade soap at the sinks and every kitchen tool we might need. Our Old Florida unit is the smallest, a studio with a kitchen yet it had a beautifully painted mural on the length of the unit, a couch and a very cool honeymoon table for two (the chairs nestled in under the table to save space). Every convenience was provided in the kitchen and the bathroom sink had a grass skirt! The owners are delightful and very knowledgeable about the local restaurants and sights. Their office has a small gift nook with items made by local crafts people.
