We preferred 1st floor as you have a small patio on the front and back. #71 is one bedroom but has sofa pull-out bed if desired. The owner has it fully engineered with 3 ceiling fans, USB ports, storage everywhere, kitchen with all dish-ware, 2 TV's, plus all the little items you may have forgotten to bring. Well thought out for many little conveniences. Bonus, it is only a 7 minute walk to the village where there are many shops, restaurants, etc., but little parking available day or night. We walked to the Summer House and the Cottage and recommend both.

After ten consecutive years of mountain trips, we decided this year to head back to the beach and the gulf side of Florida that we used to be familiar. After quite a bit of research and reading numerous reviews, I reached out to Tim and Yvonne (managers of The Cottages at Siesta Key). It was one of the best decisions I ever made, as we hit it off immediately and had a rental agreement completed the very same day. We arrived at our destination at night well after the office closed to find that Tim and Yvonne has left our keys on the door along with a nice note and all pertinent instructions. The room was cute and super clean, which was the number one requirement for us. The pool was well maintained, and the beach access was only a very short walk of a couple hundred yards away. They even provided lounge chairs, an umbrella, and even a long handled shelling scoop for our use. We enjoy eating out each evening during our vacations, and there were a number of excellent choices within walking distance or a short drive from The Cottages. We enjoy bird photography, and an awesome state park was only a 30 minute or so drive away. The famed St. Armands Circle and Longboat Key were a comparable drive. In conclusion, we will certainly return to the Cottages at Siesta Key and now consider Tim and Yvonne to be personal friends!

First, let me say the hotel was lovely. Our room looked fantastic…read more Everything was great until we needed to go to sleep. This hotel does not have curtains, only louvered blinds on the windows and frosted glass on the door so you're getting: ANY outside light, light from your and your neighbors' porch light, and potentially light from cars as they pull in and out of the parking lot. Oh, and let's not forget the bright blue LED read out on the refrigerator, and the AC unit directly over your bed. *So much light pollution in one room.* The other complaint would be the -10AM- check out time. The way too-early check out, after a lousy nights sleep, would really give me pause to stay here again. My friend and I were going to a kayaking trip in the morning and we had to repack everything we had unpacked just a few hours before. We were told if we wanted/needed to have a late check out, we would be charged a *full day*. WTH? To come back, I would have to bring my own window coverings, and painters tape (to cover any LED lights) to consider rebooking this hotel. Although, it's a good location and was a good price during Labor Day Sunday/Monday.

As we pulled up to the Iris cottage, the 1-bedroom we'd chosen, George greeted us in the parking lot. He gave us a nice walk-through of the cottage and welcomed us to Longboat Key. The cottage was sparkling clean and updated, and felt like home. Every room carried a beachy theme with beach signs and pictures. There was no mistaking that we were at the beach! The bed was comfy, the shower never ran out of hot water, the kitchen was fully stocked with all necessities and appliances including a dishwasher, and there were even games provided in the dining room cabinet. To top it off, the cottage also came equipped with free Wi-Fi and a flat screen TV in both the living room and bedroom. The layout of the cottages is such that even though Iris and Ivy are first, and nearest to the road, we honestly couldn't hear the traffic. There is shrubbery and a fair amount of distance to the road, so have no trepidation in booking either of these cabins. We will easily book Iris again with no concerns. Though we didn't take advantage of it, we had a nice patio area complete with table, chairs, umbrella and a nice-sized barbecue. Next time around, I'd like to enjoy breakfast on the patio at least one morning. There was also a beach umbrella for us if we wanted to take it to the sand. I'm accustomed to having beach towels when I book lodging anywhere near a beach, but the beach towels here are thick, nice quality beach towels, not the typical cheap blue/white striped towels every other place provides. They also provide 16 chaise lounges and 2 Adirondack chairs out at the beach, along with 2 hammocks, and some nice cushy chairs on a deck near the sand along with a community fire pit for sunset barbecuing near the water. I really can't say enough about how comfortable this stay was, and how much I looked forward to heading in to the cottage after watching the sunset in the evenings. This was truly our holiday home, and we are looking forward to a return trip next year.

Their policy says disturbances shouldn't interfere with other guests' comfort. Yet a large group of teens was allowed to drink and scream from sunset late into the night with little intervention. Security were more focused on parking passes than addressing open underage drinking on the property. Other guests, including the elderly, were clearly frustrated. My brother stepped on a broken whiskey bottle near the beach entrance. Glass left behind after the lack of intervention is a direct failure of security. This seems to be a recurring July issue based on what other guests told us. Until management actually enforces the rules they publish, I can't recommend staying here.
