My husband and I had our dream wedding at The Grove on July 31, 2016. When we first toured The Grove, we knew that this was the venue for us. The magnificent lobby will wow your guests as they enter the building, while the ballrooms are spacious, clean and classy. Our guests were greeted with water and drinks as they arrived before the start of our intimate ceremony. The cocktail hour was unbelievable (every guest we spoke to confessed that it was the best cocktail hour they've ever seen), and the food throughout the cocktail hour and reception was delicious and plentiful. We had extremely high expectations in the weeks leading up to our wedding, and the staff at The Grove far surpassed our expectations on our wedding day. Raul, our maitre d', made us feel comfortable from the first moment we met him. He was always one step ahead when planning for the wedding as well as on the wedding day. You can tell that Raul genuinely loves his job - he was just as excited as our guests throughout the entire day. Raul runs the show - he was the reason we had such a flawless wedding day. My bridal attendant, Ashley, was incredibly attentive and catered to our every need. From making sure we had water during our pictures and drinks during the reception, to corseting and fluffing my dress and even re-applying my lip gloss, I wouldn't have been able to make it through the day without her. We were there for my dear friend's wedding. All the stars earned in this review was strictly for the food. The cocktail hour feature many dishes served elsewhere and done well. Most notable Reuben sliders, guacamole superb. My main course salmon over risotto was perfection. The place is very attractive and clean. I knew my friend shelled out slot of dough for her only daughters event so I felt the need to warn others It was apparent the staff weren't trained well from valets to managers. Valets-it's typical to wait in a valet line when arriving for an event but one line loved and the other halted causing frustrated guest to change lanes causing more chaos. Disorganization Event managers-the room of over 200 people - temperatures were freezing many women wearing their mates's suit jackets. We asked if they could change the temperature and it was ignored. We before they cut the cake because it was so uncomfortable in spite of the fact I was dancing most of the time. The food at the reception was the best food in terms of quality and presentation, matches up to 5 star hotels like a wedding I attended at the prestigious Hong Kong Peninsula Hotel. The staff were all polite and capable, not a bad looking group either! My favorite part of the whole reception was when the "gates of heaven" (giant screen doors) opened up to another HUGE room FILLED with all the sweets you can possibly want, imagine, and didn't even know you wanted". There were stations after stations of waffles, crepes, chocolate (of every type) AND caramel fountains, even Chinese egg tarts! I had the pleasure of attending my friend and fellow coworker's wedding at The Grove. It was my first visit there and I can honestly say that it was one of my top wedding venues that I have been to. The establishment is fairly new, opening only but a couple of years, so everything still has that fresh feel to it. The architecture, the design, and the space utilization is clearly well thought out. One can tell that the owners spared no expense in ensuring that hosts and revelers alike would have one hell of a time for their events here. Both the ceremony and reception were held at this venue. The room where the ceremony took place had such an intimate and close feel that made the vows even more special. Close family, friends, and coworkers watched as the groom took the beautiful bride's hand in matrimony. After such a tear-jerking episode the party moved on to the cocktail hour in the next room. With open bar and the usual cacophony of food for the guests everyone was having such a great time. Finally the dinner portion was held at the grand ballroom where the decorations were so inspiring and the dance floor was so huge that one could have held a Backstreet Boys reunion concert right in the middle of it all and still have space for guests to dance around them! Anyways I'm slightly exaggerating but only slightly. As for the food during the dinner portion I loved every bite. Having already stuffed myself silly during cocktail hour I thought I didn't have any more room for dinner but nope I still did. The steak was superb and each course came out seamlessly ending with the amazing wedding cake and desserts to round out the night. It was truly an amazing wedding, amazing venue, and amazing couple who I wish the best to. They both have great taste, as evidenced by their choice of wedding venue, and I know they'll keep making more of those tasteful decisions for years to come! read more

Went to a wedding here recently and it was a great venue. The food was amazing. Lets start with cocktail hour. They did a great job of serving comfort type foods in an elegany manner. They had mini chicken pot pies in espresso cups that were really cool. Also they had disco fries, who has that at a wedding?...awesome right? went well with the sliders and onion rings. The best may have been the mashed potato bar that had toppings like short ribs or duck, bacon, caramelized onions, etc...of course I loaded up with both meats and most of the other toppings. The venue was very classy looks wise and the bar staff was very good. Right after the ceremony they were passing out some pink lemonade cocktail that was really refreshing and a good way to start the afternoon. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a north jersey wedding/event venue. read more

And for my 100th review, I will review the venue where I married my wife - that's right - The Grove in Cedar Grove, NJ! DISCLAIMER: This is from the perspective of a couple using this venue for their wedding ceremony & reception, rather than the perspective of a guest of an event held here. Alright so shortly after our engagement we started searching for venues and The Grove was the 1st that we came across, as a recommendation made by my cousin who was a guest at a previous wedding here. Well needless to say, my wife fell in love with the venue. It was large enough for all of our guests and had a separate room for each festivity (ceremony, cocktail hour & reception) and large bridal and groom's suites. We also spotted two other rooms (one on the 2nd floor, the other in the basement level) for smaller events. A couple of cool features about this venue: a balcony from the groom's suite that overlooks the cocktail room! We felt like glory waving at our guests while they were indulging! There is also a staircase from the bridal suite that leads to the grand ballroom. That is used for the grand entrance, so be aware of your wife's dress when walking down the staircase. The ceremony room has a collapsible wall to extend the space of the grand ballroom in case you have a ton of guests (my guess is over 200 guests). So as of the service during the process leading to the big day - Jason was top notch! He gave us some tips, was able to answer our questions and was gracious enough to meet with us a few times as we got really close to the wedding day. We at first booked a date only about 8 months from the time we signed and after my wife felt uneasy about how soon that date would arrive, we met Jason the next week to reschedule and it was not a problem to him and his staff! Also, he and The Grove were really flexible with us in that we wanted a rehearsal the day before the wedding. It seems as though venues do not do this as they are they hold events each day of the week, but Jason and The Grove were able to squeeze us in! In addition to that, we rehearsed again on the wedding day prior to the event. He was also able to accommodate the us for our photoshoot hours before the ceremony! So we were able to get our families and bridal party in early to get all of the photos so that we wouldn't spend too much time during our big day! Jason and his staff was also very flexible when we picked out our food. We were able to have our seafood paella and we got coquito! In addition to that, we got all sorts of other stuff for the cocktail hour including a tequila luge. One of these days, I will be a guest at a party at The Grove to experience what that is like... Lol As of the service during the day of the event, it was perfection. Between our maitre'd Raul and the bridal attendant Amanda - they made sure our night came off without any worries. My wife was well taken cared of and the coordination of Raul's staff comes off without a hitch. I can thank them enough for the night that they gave us - it was so easy to the point where our bridal party really didn't have to do anything but have a great time! Raul rehearsed us thru the ceremony and we all got it down very easily because of his guidance. He coordinated with our DJ, photographers and videographers really well to make sure the night was fun for everyone! It was magical. A couple of other notes regarding The Grove: there is a cottage that they own - great for photos and videos. Also, they have a lot of options for food and festivities. In addition, they are connected to Palermos Bakery, so there's your cake right there! Also, they have recommendations to several hotels in the area. Anyway, I will wrap this up with giving thanks to Jason, Raul, Amanda and the rest of the staff for helping us have best day of our lives. Their attention to detail and superior service at The Grove is unmatched because they completely understand the significance of this special day and therefore they take care of it as if it were their special day. We visited several venues for our big day and we absolutely fell in love with The Grove. Not only is it a beautiful venue but all of the staff is incredibly warm and professional. We had the pleasure of working with Andrew as our coordinator and he was simply amazing. Andrew made us feel like our wedding day was as special for him as it was for us and our guest. He went above and beyond to ensure that everything was to our liking throughout the planning process and he ensured that we had every aspect of our wedding planning taken care of. It almost felt like he was our wedding planner! The day of our wedding was like a dream and both my husband and I felt incredibly comfortable that everything was under control and that Andrew was in charge of handling everything! Our guest kept talking about the abundance of food and how delicious everything was. We still have guests that rave and talk about how much food there was at our wedding! My bridal attendant was incredible and anything that I needed was done before I can even finish asking! I wanted to take her home with me! Jason was so beyond helpful, responsive, kind, honest, and professional throughout the entire process! I have been her for 3 fundraiser galas, 1 company holiday party, and 2 weddings. I honestly can say I have enjoyed all of my parties that I've been here for. The inside of the building is far nicer than from what it looks like on the outside, and is much less gaudy than what it appears to be on their website. The food was phenomenal, everything from what was served at our cocktail hours to the dinners themselves. Some of the bartenders though are a bit inexperienced, as they didn't know how to make some common mixed drinks from time to time. Can't expect them to know everything though, and they're honest about it instead of trying and making a mistake. The major downside I see of these place is the dance floors that they set up. They're fairly uneven and cheap, pretty unbecoming of the place. Most people that go to this venue though aren't dancers, so I can see why they saved a bit of cost here. Parking is another annoyance. Valet parking was free for the events I attended, but obviously expect to tip. Friends of mine that self-parked had to park very far away from the building. read more

We met with Andrew originally and he sold us on the venue. He was a gentleman and worked with us. Unfortunately he retired before our big day and we worked with Jason the remainder of our time. We met in person and he was very nice and did a great job with reassuring us everything would go as planned. Prior to our day and the final bill, we noticed an administrative fee and remembered Jason stating that all tips can be given to him and he will divide it up to all who deserve it to make sure it was divided fairly so we called to ask what this entailed and asked if this was the tip amongst other things. They told us that yes it was. We were also told that tips are not required. With that we decided we were not going to tip the day of and would mail a tip in if the service exceeded our expectations. Flash forward to our wedding day. The venue and the staff EXCEEDED our expectations and the food was absolutely amazing. It was the greatest wedding day ever until the very end. The music stopped and the guests were leaving and Jason came up to my wife who is on her high of all highs because we just got married and just had an amazing day and he ask her who to talk to about collecting the tip. My wife in a confusion sent Jason to my mother in law, who was tending to a matter, and sent him back to my wife. Long story short he would not leave until someone gave him a tip. Thankfully between my father in law and my wallet we came up with a cash tip. Once he received it he disappeared into the night and left the venue. That has left such a disgusting taste in our mouths that it almost has ruined our grove experience. Please note that the venue and the HARD working staff will exceed any expectation you have with food that your guest will talk about for a long time. That I will give a 5 star for, they deserve it. Jason was a sly business man who was a great person and helped make our day amazing but ruined it for us in the end. Sad part is, the tip my wife and I would have given would have been for a lot more than I was able to come up with on the spot which is a shame because his staff deserved more. Our wedding attendant who was pretty new to her position was AMAZING and helped us out from the moment we arrived to the last moment we left. My wife and I were the last shuttle to leave and she was with us, while Jason and the other staff left. I reiterate, the venue, staff and food are top notch and amazing but that horrible antic by Jason should be addressed and watched out for. read more

CAUTION: Valet only location which is BAD if you have a more expensive vehicle. My car has Valet mode because of this reason, so people can't abuse it. However, I caught the attendant revving my vehicle. I understand people like to hear it, but I would be cautious driving here with a high horsepower vehicle. The cocktail hour has its own room with delicious food and presentation. Our guests came in thinking the cocktail hour was the actual wedding! The lobby is very elegant and great for pictures. The actual reception hall is very spacious and high ceilings. Very beautiful stair case in the hall which the bride and groom came down from. The best thing about this place is the service! If i could give The Grove 100 stars I would. There are just not enough words to express how grateful we are for The Grove giving us the wedding of our dreams. It was more then we could have ever dreamed of. From the beginning, Andrew, our event coordinator at the grove, made our event seamless. He was very responsive to my MANY MANY emails & pointed us in the right direction when it came to food, decor, design, lighting, EVERYTHING! My bridal attendant Ashley was a gift from the heavens. She did everything for me without me having to ask for anything. She applied my lipstick for me when it started fading, she patted my back with damp towels after every dance, she had a drink ready for me whenever I even looked the slightest bit thirsty. I cannot thank either of them enough! The food deserves a review of its own because it blows every other venue out of the park! AHHMAZING! I have never had such good catering hall food and my life and we only ate at the reception! Our friends & family cannot stop talking about the cocktail hour!! With only four weeks to plan a large event, he kept my family on schedule and helped us coordinate a VERY special night for the bride and groom along with all our guests. My husband and I had our wedding at The Grove in May, 2015. It was the most magical and perfect day because of every element The Grove provides. It was very important to us to find a place that not only had great photo opportunities outside, and inside. It was also very important to us not only have excellent food (that's really what guests remember), but to also have the absolute best service and hospitality. Looking at their website will give you a good idea of what the place looks like, but it does not compare to actually going to visit the venue. I got chills when I first went there. Everything is absolutely breathtaking, most beautiful, elegant, modern, and classy place we've ever seen. The staff treated us like they were family who genuinely cared about every detail and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and our day was perfect. Not only did they make sure things were done and done correctly, they also added their own little touch to make it even more special. I asked to have our unity candle displayed on the piano for our guests to see. Not only was this done, but they added a mirror on the bottom to enhance the flame, brilliant! Every time we stepped off the dance floor we were handed a cool, wet cloth for the back of our necks or for my husband's face, never would have thought to have something like that but it was so nice to have to help cool down. I had a couple issues with my gown and no matter what I needed our Bridal Attendant had it in her pocket. Our Bridal Attendant was Amanda and she was like an angel with all the answers! She was by my side the whole time, held my bouquet and fixed my dress during all the photos, sewed one of the bridesmaids dresses, and simply went out of her way to make sure everything was taken care of, I was happy, and everything was perfect. I felt like she was a sister and could rely on her to do anything for us. Plus, she was an absolute sweetheart!! Raul was our Maitre D, he became our best friend for the night. His attention to detail was more than anyone could have ever expected. He knew exactly what to do, when to do it, and made everything seamless. I started to stop telling him how I wanted things because he either already had it done or had it done even better than I wanted it. It was very clear that both of them knew exactly what they were doing and have been handling weddings a long time. Jason was our Wedding Coordinator and pretty much took care of everything behind the scenes and inside the reception. We had an issue with our shuttles and he was the one on the phone with the hotel to fix the problem. ANYTHING that we needed taken care of or addressed, Jason handled and took care of as if it was his own wedding. Also, he was always around, we never had to look for him or try to get his attention, he was always right there and assuring us everything was perfect. All of them made us feel very comfortable, calm, relaxed, and could enjoy our wedding rather than constantly making sure everything was being taken care of. It is very difficult to hand over the day you have been planning for so long, to someone else to take the lead and run the show, but I had all of the trust in the world with The Grove and their staff. Now the food...our guests are still full! The dinner is exceptional, creative, perfectly cooked, and HOT!! It's the worst when you go to a wedding and your fish is cold or steak is overcooked. Every single guest we have spoken to have said their dinner was perfect and could cut the steak with a butter knife. Along with our cake we had the sample dessert given to every guest. This was awesome!! Four mini desserts for each guest, we never saw anything like this at any other wedding venue. The Grove also offered a Viennese pass, all types of desserts from brownie sundays, root beer floats, warm cookies, milk shakes, etc. being passed throughout the entire room. It was amazing! I've saved the cocktail hour for last because it is completely on an entire different level. Raw bar with shrimp like you've never seen before, sushi of all kinds, mexican station with homemade guacamole, comfort food with sliders, mac n cheese, and mini pot pies, and more and more. Every guest says the same thing, "the food was phenomenal and that cocktail hour was out of this world!!". The service was exceptional, if your drink was low they re-filled it, you never had to go to the bar. Each table had their own waiter who made sure you were taken care of. Overall, it made us so happy to hear how happy our guests were and how gracious and friendly they were treated. We couldn't have asked for anything more, received more than what we asked for, and The Grove made our entire wedding stunning, elegant, and classy, with flawless perfection! Wow, what an amazing venue! I've been to countless weddings in the past years and this place has wow'd me. I've been to really upscale places such as 583 Park Avenue and Chelsea Piers - Pier 60. The Grove, while in NJ, and not nearly as upscale, beats both of these places in my books. The people that work here are phenomenal. From the valet guys, to the coat check/bathroom attendants to the bar tenders/servers. I've never been to a wedding where you the servers will make their every effort to go around to everyone to make sure they get a piece of the hor d'oeuvres. The room where they had cocktail hour was huge and very spacious. I was so impressed because I saw the servers go to each table to make sure everyone got a piece to nibble on. While the cocktail hour food wasn't amazing, it still impressed me. The ceremony itself could have been a little fancier and nicer so that's my only negative for the set up. It was simple for what it was. The reception itself was held in a huge room. There was a huge dance floor. The main course was also really good! We had our daughter's wedding at The Grove on July 30 and I'm still in awe at the perfection of the day! The magnificence of The Grove can be seen on their website. The entry hall with staircase is sweeping and beautiful. The cocktail room and ballroom are right out of a fairytale. The food was amazing and as good as any fine restaurant. The cocktail hour was a showstopper! Everyone loved the "Tequila Luge", the "Comfort Food" station and the "Slider and Float" station. The main dishes of Arctic Char and Filet Mignon were delicious and beautifully plated. Everyone raved about the "Passed Viennese desserts". While venue beauty and food are, of course, hugely important, the success of an event are the people who "make it happen". I can't say enough about Dan Goldblatt, who, from the beginning assured us not to worry...we were going to get "The Grove Experience". He was never too busy to help us and always responded promptly. Ashley, the bridal attendant was waiting for us when we arrived in the morning and stayed near my daughter the entire day and night. She was amazing and took care of everything bride related. She was there helping with things before we even realized we needed help. Last, but not least, was Raul, our incomparable Maitre'd. He was everywhere and orchestrated everything! We never had to worry about a thing! He took care of it all. He was always there to ask if we needed anything and the day ran beautifully and (as far as we could see) seamlessly. Hands down one of the best weddings locations I have ever been to. From the moment we stepped in the venue, to the second we left, it was a great experience and will be a night I will always remember when two of my dear friends finally got married. Recently came here for a friend's wedding. Venue is extravagant and beautiful. My favorite part of the night was when the wall opened up to showcase the dessert bars. It was just over the top. Food was delicious and bar tenders were great. All the staff was extremely friendly. read more

What a GORGEOUS place. I came here for a wedding on July 6th & what a beautiful wedding it was! The cocktail hour was crazy. They had a Mexican station with little bottles of corona's, chips & guacamole which I loved & have never seen that at a cocktail hour before. They had stuffed mushrooms, good shrimp cocktail, calamari & steak. They also made this delicious strawberry lemonade drink with vodka & I drank that all night long. Everytime I ordered one, the waiter brought me two. Very attentive staff & friendly. The wedding hall itself was gorgeous & the steak dinner I had was delicious. My wife and I were married at the Grove on 12/29/18 and all I can say is - WOW. From the first meeting earlier in the year to the minute we left the venue on our wedding night, every single request, need, and detail was attending to with absolute precision. Each and every one of our guests said the wedding was amazing --- with many of them calling it the best wedding they've attended in their life. And it all starts with the staff - Andrew was our event manager and had us at hello. He answered every question we threw at him in the months leading up to the wedding, but truly shined on the day itself. He coordinated with each of our vendors, ensured every detail was in place, and even adjusted to our last minute requests on the fly - he was on top of EVERYTHING. We felt his genuine care for each of us which made the day even more special. On the day itself, my wife had Ashley as her bridal attendant - I can honestly say I've never seen someone work so hard at their job. She was with my wife every step of the way - fluffed her dress when needed, got drinks delivered on cue, and even radioed for a lint roller when I got fuzz on my tuxedo during pictures outside! Ashley is FANTASTIC. And running point on the day was our maitre d', Liliya. Liliya executed everything flawlessly and made sure my wife and I were in the right place at the right time throughout the night (pictures, introductions, cake cutting, etc.). She too was able to handle our day-of requests without fail. And as for the venue itself --- it is SPECTACULAR! You're immediately whisked away from New Jersey when you step foot in the Grand Lobby. Each of the ballrooms (for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception) are gorgeous. And the food....people can't stop talking about the food. Chef Anthony Garruto outdoes himself every night putting together a cocktail hour that is above and beyond what anyone could expect. Which is somehow topped when the Viennese Table is revealed...any dessert you can imagine is put in front of your guests. Just had my wedding on Friday and I have to say, the grove exceeded my expectations by far! I couldn't of asked for a more beautiful venue with the best service and most delicious food I've ever had. It was the best wedding for all of my guests! Nicole was my bridal attendant and when I tell you, there is no one that can compare. This lovely girl was hairs praying my hair, making sure my dress wasn't dragging, even cupped her hands under my mouth when I was drinking red wine so I didn't get a drop on my dress. She did what ever I needed to keep me looking and feeling good. Raul, the matre d, biggest sweetheart ever was right along side of Nicole helping with everything and also making sure all of my guests were tended to. Worth every penny! When I got engaged, I made a long list of places I wanted to visit as possible locations for my wedding. Being from NJ, I knew I wanted to get married in NJ. My husband found The Grove online and as soon as I walked in I knew I wanted to get married there (I literally got a bridal moment haha). We walked around and everything took my breath away, they even have a Historic House on site that's awesome to take pictures inside and outside. We went to some more locations afterwards, but I kept thinking back to The Grove and within a couple of days I came back to sign the contract. Before the wedding, we worked with Jason S. He is literally the best, but you'll come to find out that everyone that works there is amazing. Jason helped so much with the wedding from walking us through the menu, talking about the different events of the day and seating chart issues. We did a Kosher style wedding and we were even able to order separate Glatt Kosher meals for the people who needed them. I can't even begin to explain how magical our wedding day was (11.03.2018). People are still talking about how it was a fairy tale. There isn't one place you can't take a picture, because everything is so luxurious and beautiful. The food is top notch, people are still raving about how amazing the food was and how delicious all the desserts were. No one and I mean NO ONE left the wedding hungry. The service there not only makes the couple feel special, but the guests as well. People told me after the wedding how attentive and friendly the staff was. Raul was the Maitre d' at our wedding and he was so nice and professional. He made sure everything ran smoothly and helped guide us on what we should expect during the night. Ashley was my bridal attendant and she went above and beyond. She made sure I was eating, drinking, helped me get in and out of my gown and dealt with every issue coming from my bridal party. She was a literal angel and I wouldn't have asked for anyone else. Andrew was the attendant for my husband and he was just as awesome. He made sure my husband was eating, drinking and having a good time with his friends. I truly can only say good things about The Grove.
